I don't always do feedback, but when I do, I try to give it "Director's Commentary" style, as I'm the one who puts the show together, and I often get a lot of direction in the segments and matches of the show. That being said, with a show of this importance, I will provide some of that.
- The opening segment was a long time coming. I personally feel this was the moment everyone had been waiting for in this feud: an opportunity to see them face to face to air out the grievances. We all knew this match was inevitable from the moment Sally came back, and I feel the road to getting there made it intriguing and fun with the stories of their in-ring interactions and now this. As a fed-head, I'm excited to see the match finally come to fruition, and as a fan I loved to watch the story from beginning to end.
- Salaryman v. Eve was a fun opener that helps continue to tell the story of a plucky hero that seems out of place in a company going through its darkest timeline. Salaryman is fun though, and one of the things Sean does so well in his matches is he understands the psychology and nuances of a crowd that is a regular one, with repeat fans and a college atmosphere. It's fun to read those things. And Carey's involvement in the finish set the tone nicely for later in the night.
- Hi Ashlyn.
- The Strike/Carey stuff was an awesome step in the evolution of the character. From a guy who was never meant to be involved in wrestling to a guy who is now embracing the challenge and the role, Carey has become a fun character to write and has his own compelling stories to tell.
- The Stark/Scott stuff and the Aries/Wulf stuff did well enough to tell their stories. Pete and JB came through to make a compelling story with Aries and Wulf, and I love it.
- If you didn't like the Sweet Moves competition, you're a damn communist.
- The six-man was a fun way to introduce EXODUS readers to one of the main stories in RW, the stuff between Carey and the Sisters of Sin. Cassidy Carter has become a very vocal and fun heel to see develop down there, and to see the choice Cailey made to go from worried about her sister to standing by her man was a difficult one, but it leads to the next chapter of his story against them.
- There's been two criticisms in this stuff that's Sekigun related with Andreas Lasiewicz. The first one is that nobody in the Sekigun has stood up to him in a baby face like manner, and the second being that for a top baby face, Fiona Collins has been surprisingly passive in taking a leadership role. I believe this segment solved both of those. She puts her foot down in this segment and delivers a heartfelt speech as to why Las is wrong in her own manner in a way to get him to stand down. She takes a lot of IC and OOC criticism, but Fiona comes out strong in two segments and wins back a lot of heat in her major storylines.
- As a Strikiwell fan, that segment was gut wrenching. YES, EXODUS, I HAVE A GODDAMN SHIP.
- As a joshi guy, I wish on so many levels this would have been a real six-man. I see them as six workhorses who put in an amazing match, and Abby Park picks up a win to help build incredible momentum. With her struggling in recent shows, a victory helps propel her back and keeps her strong going into the PPV.
- Oh. Oh Adrien.
Oh.- Cannon picks up his own win and looks strong in his build to the I Quit match. The guy has had the hard luck draw on several occasions, but in my opinion, Cannon is the "next guy up" if that says anything.
- Oliver Creed, you just became my favorite person. Your build throughout this show was awesome, and you actually feel like a character worth investing in. I'm interested in watching you grow.
- Bloodsport are a team that sounds like a rough group but actually have this weird comedic center. I feel like they're Steve Martin and Dan Akroyd's "Two Wild and Crazy Guys" if they were into MMA. The nice part is that Mattias' heartbreak and the push to the title have sharpened the character and given them an edge they didn't have previously. It will be fun to watch what the duo does in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, nobody loses their shine here, and we establish what Adrien and Jaime can do as a team.
- Andreas and Heather just seems like a merging of the IC and OOC world and it's great and awkward and I DO NOT EVEN GET WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING LOL.
- Sydney Christensen is my favorite RW character. She's got this Lisa Simpson/straight woman tendency to all the insanity in RW and her as a champion is so great. She lays out a mission that to stake a claim in the company, you have to go through her, and she's such a good champion as a face. Jaina, if Paige and Jon go through with it, become such a fun feud based on Syd's moral code and Jaina's amorality.
- YOU GO COMMIT THAT HATE CRIME, ANGELA.
- Ashlyn DeLuca as a guest was set up in a rather okay manner. The whole thing came together very quickly, and I feel like it shows in my writing. However, Mags and Strike was the perfect ending to that insanity....unless you're a G&M fan who wanted to see him march down the aisle.
- Big props to Joey from WARPED who got his shine on in this segment.
- Nick and Chuck put on a great segment that got derailed by a lot of OOC things in the planning to it, but it wound up turning into real gold with them both.
- The Triangle Trios, like last year, was great. Good work by Adrien here in doing as well as he did last year with a now annual event.
