If possible, could you guys screw up this whole "first overall pick" thing?
Just kidding, I've got friends in Denver who split time between being Preds and Avs fans. Having the fourth pick means at least one of the top skaters will fall to us. I'd love a wing that we can drop on a line with Colin Wilson and Filip Forsberg.
...oh man, I just thought about a starting six of Craig Smith-Wilson-Forsberg, Weber-Josi (World Championships MVP!), Rinne...
That's good stuff.

NOPE. SETH JONES IS OURS! OURS, DAMMIT!!!!
...fine, you can all have MacKinnon or Drouin...Shinkaruk too...>_>
Yeah, I live about 25 minutes outside of Denver, so I'll usually catch the games downtown whenever I can.
The whole "front office change" thing is a good start - although I'm a bit uneasy on the "Patrick Roy is the new coach of the Avalanche" rumor that's been flying around. It is a bit of a transition coaching from juniors to the NHL...

On one hand, I'm very...comfortable with the lack of movement the Preds have always had. Poile's got his fingers on the pulse of the best young American talent thanks to putting together the national team, and I don't think Trotz's coaching is why the Preds were bad this year.
...I also don't think Peter Horachek was the reason, but I'm fine with the move to replace him with Phil Housley.
The only thing that worries me about this pick is if Barkov is the player that's there at 4 and the Preds don't want to risk an Eastern European...again (sup Rads, hope you liked those beatdowns in the World Championships). I like Sasha, and I'd like to see him in the Gold & Blue.

Yeah, Poile's done an excellent job with bringing the core that Nashville currently does have. Felt the Forsberg trade was a good move to make as well from a long-term standpoint (very surprising too...kept track of it since the Forsberg pick was one that we sent to Washington to get Varlamov in the first place, if I remember it correctly).
As for the Eastern Europeans, yeah, after Radulov...I'd be a bit hesitant too.

I used to watch NHL all of the time a few years ago, then they had the lockout and I haven't watched since, but go Avalanche!
