"Hyena" hits the PA and out comes...Tiami Tyler by herself. She's already nervous, clutching her UWL Jr. Heavyweight Title over her shoulder, and shoots a look back, almost as if she's hoping her sister will suddenly appear to join her.
Dick Morosi: Fans, as you can see, Danielle Tyler isn't here; there's been limited contact between the EXODUS Office and her, much less between Tiami and her sister.
Seth Ericson: You know, normally I'd just say she's scared of these other teams, but...I'm not even sure that's the case, Dick. This seems serious, though you said that the Rebels have been in contact with each other. So...at least we know she seems safe right now.
Tiami's in the ring as "Right Now" by Van Halen begins its slow build and the crowd leaps to their feet, wildly cheering. The lights stay dim, and then fade up slowly as an orange spotlight illuminates the ramp. Two figures walk out slowly, standing back to back with their heads down and then raise their arms slowly as the lights gradually get brighter. At the precise moment the singing begins, Gowan leaps in the air, doing a high kick before sprinting towards the ring. Soaking up the approval of the fans he makes his way to the ring, followed by the more sedate Chauncy, both slapping hands with fans as they pass.
(Right now) Hey! It's your tomorrow
(Right now) Come on, it's everything
(Right now) Catch your magic moment
Do it right here and now
It means everything!
Gowan jumps up on the apron and then springboards over the top rope while Chauncy takes his time with the steps, pausing to wipe his feet on the apron. Both scale the turnbuckles and thrust their fists in the air as the crowd gives a huge pop!
David Zinkus: Hailing from sunny San Dimas, California, please welcome Chauncy Nottingham and Larry Gowan, together they are the KNIGHTS OF ANARCHY!
Dick Morosi: A big welcome to the home state team here, the Knights of Anarchy have made California their unofficial home!
Seth Ericson: These two knuckleheads are already making me sick!
The bell rings as Tyler and Gowan start things off, tying up in the center of the ring. Tiami backs Larry to the ropes, and whips him off, but when he comes back, he catches her with a lariat! He quickly goes to drop an elbow, but Tyler moves, getting up as Larry crashes to the mat. She tries for her own elbow drop, but this time it's Gowan who moves out of the way. Tyler's quick back to her feet, and the two stand off, before slowly circling once more.
Dick Morosi: Even so far, though that lariat from Larry Gowan showed he's got a little bit of a power advantage, something I don't think he's used to.
The two lock up again, and this time Gowan pushes Tyler back into the corner, where he tags out to Chauncy Nottingham, who steps into the ring. The two whip Tiami across the ring, where she crashes into the corner her sister would normally be waiting in. Larry starts to whip Chauncy across at her, though the pair reverse the whip, sending Gowan into a jumping corner splash on his foe!
Seth Ericson: Oh, sure, use these double team moves when she DOESN'T have a partner!
Dick Morosi: That's how tag team wrestling works, Seth. You know that.
Tiami comes back toward the center of the ring, only to be met by Chauncy, who jumps up, grabbing her head and falling back with a jumping DDT! As Gowan is shown out of the ring by D'Artis Johnson, Chauncy goes for a cover;
ONE...
TWO-Kickout!
Tiami gets out just after the two, and Chauncy just shrugs. Nottingham lifts her up as he stands, but he chooses to quickly lock in the Nottingham Naptime chicken wing! He wraps his legs around her, falling back, and it's not long after that that Tiami, choosing survival over valor, taps out!
ELIMINATED: The Icy Rebels
Chauncy quickly releases the hold, patting her on the back before helping Tiami roll out of the ring. Drowning Pool starts up over the PA system, signaling the next team!
Dick Morosi: Here comes a challenge!
As “Sinner” by Drowning Pool blasts over the PA, Adrien Specter and Jason Scorpio walk out from the back, both wearing matching black coats. Quickly they march down to the ring, removing their coats as they walk. Both slide into the ring at the same time, sending Nottingham back a few steps! The new pair nod at their opponents, before heading to the opposite corner. Scorpio offers to start as his partner steps out onto the apron.
Seth Ericson: If you ask me, this Scorpio guy is the weakness on Sinners Incorporated! That leg of his isn't fully healed yet, and if I'm the Knights, I'm going right after it!
Dick Morosi: Be that as it may, Seth, Scorpio's got a big size advantage over both of the K-O-A, and Adrien Specter is one of the toughest men in the sport!
The bell rings, sounding the start of this second gauntlet match. Chauncy charges, clubbing away at Scorpio with forearms before he simply shoves the smaller man away, sending him rolling over himself into a kneeling position! Chauncy charges in again, this time more aware when Scorpio tries for a big boot!
Dick Morosi: He rolls under, smart mo-OH!
Nottingham rises up, right into a big right hand by Adrien! He turns, right into a ready Jason Scorpio, who scoops his opponent up into a fireman's carry! Scorpio turns back toward the center of the ring, and simply steamrolls Chauncy down into the mat! As he comes up, he shoots a look at Gowan, shakes his leg out a little bit, and turns back to the fallen Nottingham.
Seth Ericson: Did you see that right there? That leg isn't ready! They have to get to that leg of Scorpio!
Dick Morosi: You say that, and you say he's the weak point of the team, but Specter's been through hell in the last few weeks! This is almost an off night for him, and he might get caught like it is one!
Scorpio goes across the ring, tagging in his partner. Specter scrambles into the ring, going right over to Chauncy and picking him up. He immediately goes into a series of palm thrusts to the chest, but when he goes for his uppercut thrust, Chauncy dodges it! Slipping behind Specter, Nottingham grabs his head and hits a bulldog! Specter grabs his face, rolling back toward his corner as Chauncy heads toward Gowan! Both men make the tag at the same time, bringing Larry Gowan and Jason Scorpio back into the match!
Dick Morosi: Tags on both sides, and now the largest man in this match is in there with the known giant killer!
And that's exactly what Gowan does; The Giant Killer, his dropkick to the knee! Chauncy is back up and in, running at the kneeling Scorpio and catching him with a dropkick to the chest! Specter comes in, but Gowan grabs him by the back of the neck and sends him flying out the other side of the ring! With Scorpio down, both Knights head up top...
Dick Morosi: DEATH FROM ABOVE, TWO-POINT-OH!
The two hit their twisting moonsaults onto the fallen Jason Scorpio, both staying on top for the
ONE...
TWO.....
THREE!
The Knights rise up with their arms in the air as Scorpio rolls out of the ring, joining Specter before they head back to the locker room.
ELIMINATED: Sinners Inc
“Flying Through The City” starts up, with the fans rising to their feet with a cheer! Alex Brooks and his partner for the night, Jay Encina, burst through the curtain, heading toward the ring! They pause for a moment to let Sinners Inc. get by, then continue into the ring. The new pair stands across the ring from the Knights.
Seth Ericson: Oh you've gotta be kidding me. First we get these two idiots, now I've gotta watch Alex Brooks and his friend of the week? At the SAME TIME?
Dick Morosi: If you don't like it, you can leave...wouldn't be the first time.
Seth Ericson: I would, but you need me here.
The referee tells Brooks and Chauncy to get on the apron, leaving Gowan and Encina to start this portion off. Gowan approaches Jay, but gets a kick to the thigh, followed by some high intensity forearms for his trouble! Larry's back to the ropes, where Encina proceeds to continue his assault until the referee steps in! Encina backs off, offering another round to Larry Gowan. Gowan again steps forward, but when Encina goes for a right hook, Gowan ducks under, slipping behind his foe and kicking the back of his knee!
Dick Morosi: The veteran using his ring savvy to outsmart Jay Encina here! The Knights have been out here for awhile now, and while they've won two straight, they're starting to look a little tired!
Seth Ericson: A lot of matches like this wear a person down; just wait to see what Fiona Rourke looks like in the main event!
Encina stumbles forward, and Gowan tags out to Chauncy. The two whip Encina across the ring, but when he hits the ropes, Alex Brooks tags himself in! Encina ducks under a double clothesline, allowing Alex to springboard in off the top, catching the Knights with a flying double clothesline of his own!
Dick Morosi: These fans are on their feet for Alex Brooks!
Encina comes back to Chauncy, the referee having lost control of the four temporarily! He measures, then spins around, catching Nottingham with a rolling elbow strike! Stunned, he's unaware that Alex Brooks is grabbing him with a front facelock, taking off to the corner and running up, coming back down with the Starburst!
Seth Ericson: Gowan's down outside the ring, he doesn't know what's happening... ONE... TWO... THREE! Unbelievable!
The bell rings as the Knights are upended by the unestablished team!
ELIMINATED: The Knights of Anarchy
Before they can even roll out of the ring, “Down In Mexico” has started on the PA system. Somewhat surprisingly, the Orange Octopus has charged out of the curtain, running directly at the ring! He rolls in, ducks under a Jay Encina clothesline, hops back out the other side, and starts running circles around the ring! By this time, his partner has reached the ringside area.
Seth Ericson: What in the world is that idiot doing?
Dick Morosi: Your guess is as good as mine, Seth.
The Silver Squid stops his partner, and just nods at him. Octopus turns, looking to re-enter the ring, but he's stopped...when the Squid spins him back around and hits that vicious superkick! Brooks, no stranger to the foot of the Silver Squid, winces.
Dick Morosi: What the hell!? The Silver Squid just laid out his own tag partner!
Squid heaves his...partner?...up onto the apron, rolling him back into the ring, and turns away, heading for the back! Encina shrugs, covering the Octopus as the referee counts an academic three count.
ELIMINATED: The Mighty Molluscans
The lights in the arena start to dim as a lone light towards the back wall of the entrance way begins to pulse in time with the drum beat. Soon, more lights start joining in on the pulsing, and as more drums and electronic pulses kick in, the crowd starts jeering. At the first scream for vocals, Audrey Lloris leads the way for Kameron Chase and Daisuke Iwakuma, the collective known as The Ninth Gate!
As the song continues, the two walk down, paying no mind to the audience before Audrey steps up the ring ropes to hold them open for Daisuke and Kameron. Stopping at ringside, the duo pause to extend their arms outward to pose in the LEGION trademark crucifix style. Once down, the lights start to come back up as they remove their jackets and talk strategy.
Seth Ericson: Daisuke Iwakuma brought Kameron Chase to EXODUS to do one thing, and that's help destroy Jonathan Collins, but now the two can get a second goal; the first Tag Team Champions!
Dick Morosi: This is their first match as a team, just like Encina and Brooks. It'll be interesting to see how their styles mesh; Encina and Brooks seem to work pretty well!
Encina stands in the center of the ring as Kameron Chase steps up onto the apron. He motions for the other newcomer to step in, but instead it's Iwakuma who slides in, almost slithering into the ring before rising. The bell rings, signaling the final match of the Gauntlet! Encina assumes his fighting stance, as does Iwakuma, and both begin by taking swings at the other, with both legs and hands! Neither connects, and the two become more aggressive.
Dick Morosi: Iwakuma and Encina have similar styles, both like to get in close with their strikes and then use big grabs to wear their opponent down!
Getting this close allows Daisuke to reach up and catch Encina with a thumb to the eye, stunning the larger man! The “Perfect Evil” uses this opportunity to bring him over to the Ninth Gate's corner, tagging in Kameron Chase. The two immediately begin kicking Jay Encina in tandem! Alex Brooks comes in, but the referee cuts him off, allowing Audrey Lloris to get in on the action choking Encina as he's seated in the corner!
Dick Morosi: That's uncalled for!
Seth Ericson: Ref didn't see it, no harm, no foul!
Dick Morosi: There was plenty of harm!
Chase pulls Encina up out of the corner, spins the two of them around, and then immediately drops Encina with an STO! He tries to lock in the anaconda vice to finish the Kamokaze, but Encina fights long enough that Alex Brooks makes it in to break it up! As the referee escorts Brooks back, Chase rolls out of the ring to be replaced by Iwakuma, who immediately decides to send a message to the Director by locking in his ECHO-16!
Dick Morosi: We saw Fiona Rourke use this move earlier, and Daisuke Iwakuma has learned it as well!
Encina struggles against the move, but again Alex Brooks is there to save him! The referee starts to back him out of the ring, but this time catches Iwakuma and Chase trying to switch! He reprimands them, and Brooks pulls Encina's body across the ring to their corner! When the referee turns around, he sees Encina and Brooks tagging out.
Seth Ericson: I rag on this kid a lot, but that was a smart move!
Brooks charges into Iwakuma, hitting him with forearms and catching his foe off guard! Iwakuma rakes the eyes, cutting off Brooks' momentum and drawing the ire of D'Artis Johnson. Iwakuma goes for the Dead Space, but Brooks slides down off the back of Iwakuma and dives over, tagging Jay Encina back in with a rush of adrenaline! He immediately goes to work with various kicks and palm strikes on Daisuke, and grabs him, looking for the Dropped Dead Driver, but Iwakuma fights out with an elbow strike!
Dick Morosi: Both teams know any single move can end it!
Daisuke falls back, tagging in Kameron Chase, who comes right in and lifts Encina up into position, hitting the Mental Maelstrom!
Dick Morosi: He's on top for the cover while Iwakuma knocks Brooks off the apron, ONE, TWO, AND THREE! NEW CHAMPIONS!
ELIMINATED: Alex Brooks & Jay Encina
D'Artis Johnson has the EXODUS Pro Tag Team Titles, but Iwakuma snatches them away, handing one to Kameron Chase while holding his own up. As A Perfect Circle starts back up on the PA system, the Ninth Gate holds their titles high.
Seth Ericson: They were lucky enough to get that last gauntlet spot, and Iwakuma and Chase made the most of it!
Dick Morosi: Just a tough break for Encina and Brooks, but a good showing!
WINNERS: The Ninth Gate
Dick Morosi: Fans, as you can see, Danielle Tyler isn't here; there's been limited contact between the EXODUS Office and her, much less between Tiami and her sister.
