Entrance Music: Rick Ross "100 Black Coffins"
Entrance Description: As the initial whistling of Rick Ross's "100 Black Coffins" comes over the PA system, the crowd begins to boo as the spiritual liaison and personal bodyguard of the Reverend Jerry Matthews, Deacon Jeremiah appears at the top of the entrance ramp wearing a black suit and tie and his signature black sunglasses. The lighting gleams off of his shaven head as he makes his way down the aisle. He slides into the ring under the bottom rope and walks to the center of the ring, where he folds both of his arms across his chest and stares menacingly out into the crowd. After a few moments, he removes his suit jacket and hands it to the ring attendant as he takes a place in a neutral corner.
Physical Appearance: just like Mr. Hughes, except with a shaven head and a little shorter. he also doesn't wrestle wearing his sunglasses.
Ring Attire: a collared dress shirt, black slacks, a tie and suspenders. basically, Mr. Hughes.
Gimmick: the spiritual liaison and personal bodyguard of Jerry Matthews. He seeks to forward his master's message and ministry at every turn, and as a result, he often relies on the same deplorable tactics to make sure this occurs.
Personality: He is usually a man of few words who prefers to let his actions inside and outside of the ring do the talking. However, his knowledge of the Bible is rivaled only by other members of the clergy, and can take to his soapbox to preach fire and brimstone if he feels it is necessary.
List up to three strengths of your character; they can be in-ring related, personality related, whatever you think helps define your character:
1. Brute Strength - The Deacon is as strong as an ox, and he will always seek to use this advantage to dominate any of his opponents.
2. Quick Thinker - As a former criminal, Jeremiah was never a stranger to being in situations that forced him to think on his feet. While he may have forsaken this past life, he still retains that same intuitive wit.
List up to three weaknesses of your character:
1. Loyalty - Jeremiah has never forgotten the dire situation that the Reverend Matthews saved him from on the night their paths first crossed. As a result, he became fiercely loyal to the man. However, at points, the Deacon can allow this sense of loyalty and devotion to blind him somewhat and allow others to take advantage of him.
2. Lack of in-ring experience - The Deacon is still very green in the ring, having wrestled only 4 or 5 professional matches in his career. Hence, more savvy veterans may be able to exploit this.
Athletic Background: not much
Biography: Deacon Jeremiah grew up in one of the more dire housing projects of Birmingham. Raised by a single mother, he often found himself alone during childhood while his mother was off turning tricks. He fell into the wrong crowds, and by his early teens had already compiled a criminal resume.
One fateful night, the Deacon went out with one of childhood friends, Darnell, and two other heavies to rob a house. Though the job went off without a hitch, Jeremiah was shocked when he was shot in the leg by Darnell and had the take planted on him before he was thrown out of a moving vehicle. In an attempt to escape being placed into police custody, Jeremiah made his way into a local church, where he first met the Reverend Matthews. After experiencing an epiphany of sorts, the Reverend became convinced to lie to the police when they came looking for Jeremiah in his church.
Following this, Matthews tended to the Deacon's wounds, and also educated Jeremiah on the Bible and the very tenets of his ministry. He also helped to give Jeremiah the strength to finally gain vengeance on Darnell a short time later. As a result, Deacon Jeremiah has served faithfully by the Reverend's side for the past 15 years, and continues to do so, ever eager to further the Matthews Ministry's message of fear and self-redemption.
