Character Info
Name: Vanessa Cade
Height: Five-foot-nine (5’9”)
Weight: One hundred and fifty pounds (150 lbs)
Hometown: Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
Alignment: 0, while an excellent wrestler in her own right, she’s had attitude problems in the past with thinking herself to be better than others. Injuries and the process to get herself back into fighting shape have humbled her somewhat, but she still has a streak of cockiness within her to keep people wary of her – as witnessed when she tried to viciously go after Fiona Collins at Absent Are the Saints’ Crucible.
Entrance Music: “What’s Golden” by Jurassic 5
Entrance Description:
Physical Appearance: Brooklyn Decker is the PB in question here – I’ll kinda fill the rest of this out later.
Ring Attire: Think MVP’s bodysuit attires…just done in gold, black and white with black elbow pads, sponsor logos all over the bodysuit (because money, money, money), NFL-like gloves that when the hands are joined together, it’ll form her own personal logo, gold kneepads, black wrestling boots with golden shin guards reading the words “Kiseki no Sekai” in kanji. Her hair is usually in a ponytail at that point.
Gimmick: Sports Star…or rather, how I like to describe it? Think aspects of Floyd Mayweather, Roy Jones Jr, Richard Sherman, Cristiano Ronaldo and Randy Moss in his youth all combined into one woman with an intent to someday be recognized as the best wrestler ever.
Personality: Vanessa truly believes that she’s one of the best, if not THE best wrestlers in the world today, even after her injury and lack of time in a spotlight that puts her against talent that’s recognized on a worldwide basis. She carries herself with an air of superiority and what’s worse is the fact she can back it up in the ring unlike most people. Although she acts overconfident at times, she does respect the rules within the ring to a certain degree – but nowhere near enough to break them every now and then, or find some sort of shenanigans/distraction to turn the tables. Proud to no end, she’ll refuse to consider herself anything less than above those who she fights.
Quite the flirt, snide, an ego bigger than the size of North America, she’ll shoot herself in the foot now and then with the things that come out of her mouth but to the rare few who manage to earn her respect, she tends to be an amicable enough person. What seems to go by the wayside is just how hard she works each and every day to become a better wrestler – the combination of her pride along with wanting to actually expand herself into something beyond just another “great female wrestler” drives her to become better with each day so that she can someday be known as the defacto “best wrestler in the world.” Add that drive along with the fact she’s getting paid a ridiculous amount of money to do so and the drive is damn near insane.
As far as Vanessa’s in-ring persona, she has definitely a LOT of heel tendencies most of the time and has gotten used to being booed for being absolutely fucking awesome at life (true story!), but at the end of the day, she is out looking for number one – a.k.a. herself…and sometimes her new tag team partner/old friend/rival too, sure, why not? – more so than the sanity and well-being of all others around her and thus, she will fight against heels accordingly, soak in the odd cheers and do it with a smile if she has personal beef or if they have something that she wants from them. She’s still getting used to work with anybody in a tandem not named Caroline Stark (her best friend and ride-or-die bitch), much less used to following a more…respectable route. However, humbled by her fair share of injuries and wanting to show the world she’s as good as she says she is…fuck it, we’ll do it live.
List up to three strengths of your character; they can be in-ring related, personality related, whatever you think helps define your character:
1. Striking Ability – something passed down to her from her father, Vanessa’s learned where to strike, what spots to take and how to hit with precision. She knows the human anatomy well and there is a VERY good reason why a 150lbs woman can hit a rolling elbow like a fucking freight train!
2. Submissions – deceptively flexible and strong, and due to part of her training and experience over the years, she’s able to submit opponents in many given ways with the Golden Triangle being her most trusted card of them all.
3. Tactician – A student of the game, Vanessa has an uncanny ability to thinks several steps ahead and that combined with both proper preparation and instinct makes her deadly.
List up to three weaknesses of your character:
1. Overconfidence – I cannot stress it enough times as to how this is her main weakness.
2. Speed – She keeps her in-ring movement limited for a reason due to past injuries and usually, the speedsters can give her an extremely hard time in the process, especially if she ends up getting caught in their pace.
3. Right Knee – just recently out of surgery from a torn ACL, kind of an easy target for opponents.
Biography: Born in Winnipeg, but moved to Toronto with her father after her parents’ divorce, Vanessa was already destined to become a part of this business since an early age. A second-generation wrestler, she was trained by none other than her father Bryan Cade – the same man who trained the “God of Thunder” Chris Strike eleven years ago and set him off on a course to Japan where he began making his name. Once finishing high school and getting her associate’s degree as a fail-safe (alongside her father’s training, where she met Leander Apollo), Vanessa took off for the Land of the Rising Sun much Bryan had Strike do many years ago.
Initially, Japan didn’t open many doors for her in the account of being a foreigner and it was only after meeting her current manager Mena by chance that Vanessa took the identity of masked wrestler “The Muse” – an alter-ego based it on an old series of comics written by GSB wrestlers Lyn Dallins, Jeff Charisma and Travis Montgomery. It was as “The Muse” that Vanessa achieved her greatest success so far, conquering quite a few titles, facing foes such as FFW mainstays in Eileen Amaro and Caroline Dallins and showing a dominant streak upon women’s wrestling in Japan before tearing her rotator cuff last year during a title defense. She went through surgery and rehab for the most part in Japan, but chose not to renew her contract, selling the rights to the mask and alter-ego to the company she worked in in order to return to North America.
Her return to North America led to winning some titles in companies like ASWF and IWF, but her disappointing runs in FFW and SVW due to battles with management eventually led her to leave the company along with fighting a pair of lawsuits that kept her from actively competing until settled. But at the same time, her abilities had caught the eye of “Apollon Media” – an emerging industry within Japan and the Northwestern United States – who took a chance and signed her, leading the young woman to acquire a fair share of sponsorships and overnight infamy in the process. Not to mention, her own “team” of people, varying from a personal in-house lawyer, agent, public relations person, even a pair of personal body guards whenever she is out and about doing media events, appearances, etc.
She had a very short run in Georgia-based Full Circle Wrestling that got some of her rust worked out after the hiatus and with the success she had on independent bookings in countries like Japan, England and Germany, it all eventually led Vanessa to Sin City Wrestling, where she signed and formed a tag team with Caroline Stark (nee Dallins), forming Aurea Caede (The Golden Slaughter). The two showed promise and won a couple of big matches up until Vanessa ended up tearing her ACL in a #1 Contendership bout for the SCW Tag Team titles, causing her to be out of action for a total of six months. Once recovered, Apollon Media remained firm on their commitment to her but wanted to add an extra edge to their “main attraction,” and so, that’s how she ended up paired together with long-time rival Leander Apollo…the company calling them the key players in professional wrestling’s “Generation of Miracles.” Out to prove that name confidently and to get herself back on a winning track, Vanessa eventually agreed to take on the task and began teaming with Apollo, showing quite a successful track record in the process during independent bookings. It was around that time that both of them noticed the Ninth Gate and the EXODUS Pro World Tag Team titles during the company’s tour of Japan. With the encouragement of their own financial backers, Vanessa signed on…and with gold on her mind, she’s ready to go all in.

Entrance Music: “What’s Golden” by Jurassic 5
Entrance Description:
The arena lights slowly fade to black, the riff and beats to Jurassic 5’s “What’s Golden” beginning to play through the PA system. After a few seconds of darkness, it is then filled with gold and white lights blinking on and off while smoke begins to engulf the entire top of the entrance area from each side of the ramp.
Vanessa Cade bursts out from the smoke, a great big white spotlight surrounding her as she slowly stretches out her arms out, a confident grin on her face before turning and spinning in a 360 motion with her right elbow out, letting out a war cry while being gold and black streamers are thrown around her general direction before she begins to strut her way down to the ring, swaying her shoulders back and forth before jumping up on the apron.
We're not balling, or shot calling
We take it back to the days of yes y'all-in'
We holding onto what's golden
*On a stage I rage and I'm rollin'*
Vanessa then turns and hooks the ropes with both of her arms, looking at the crowd before entering the ring and doing a one-eighty spin with her arms extended as the crowd boos her, bringing her hands together to flash her own personal logo that’s imprinted in her gloves. After that, Vanessa slowly goes toward the other side of the ring closest to the entrance and leans back against it, waiting for the start of the match.
