Character Info
Name: "Eternal Star" Akira Tamura
Twitter Handle (if applicable): Worthless young boy shit.
Height: 6'0
Weight: 185lbs
Hometown: Sakai, Osaka, Japan
Age: 42
Years Experience: 19 (retired for 4 of them)
Alignment: +2
He is well regarded by many fans and his contemporaries for his skill and long, successful career(s), but his attitude to the youngest roster members leaves him unpopular with them and their rabid fans.
Entrance Music: Star 4 Eternity - FIPW Produce
Physical Appearance: Koji Kanemoto
Ring Attire: Tamura wears red wrestling shorts with a yellow star on the back, red tape around his wrists, and black boots with a yellow star on the sides.
Character: For the most part, Tamura is a very serious fighter, his personality only really comes out when he's wrestling the younger talents (and especially the young boys) in which he displays the typical grouchy old wrestler personality, slapping them around and twisting them around extra-painfully.
List up to three strengths of your character; they can be in-ring related, personality related, whatever you think helps define your character:
1. Experience Through Ages - Tamura has been wrestling across the world since 1995, and in that time he's faced every kind of style imaginable. He's seen a lot, come up with defenses for a lot, and little can truly surprise him.
2. Stand And Fight More Like Stand And Get Knocked Out - Tamura is deadly with his hands and feet, and wrestlers that allow him to stay on his feet and use them will quickly realize that's a mistake before they take a nice nap.
3. I Punched Your Daddy Out, I'll Punch You Out Too - Having wrestled for as long and as extensively around the world as he has, means that he's tangled with many of the big names of the time that are now training wrestlers. And what those kids learn from their trainer, he's already fought and smashed in.
List up to three weaknesses of your character:
1. Glass Jaw Go Shatter - As mentioned below, his MMA career was ended when his jaw was broken in a fight. Needless to say, despite it being put back together, it's still not an area that can stand to a lot of damage. As such, a well placed shot to the jaw could put him right out.
2. What the fuck even is this flippy bullshit - He's a ground-oriented guy, and while he's reasonably quick and has developed some defenses against flips, a good speedy high flyer can easily take him off his feet if he's not paying attention.
3. Stop Slapping Him And PIN HIM - His distaste for the younger generation of wrestlers is well known and can, at times, get in the way of actually beating them. He gets so into the old grouchy wrestler routine that he can overlook legitimate good times to get the victory, being so confident he can win it at anytime anyway. And with that, obviously, comes the potential for being overtaken and surprised.
Athletic Background: 15 years of wrestling experience, and 4 years MMA experience.
Brief Career History: Debuting in 1995, Tamura would begin his career wrestling around the Osaka area, but as the years went on and his skills increased, he would find himself finding work in many independent promotions across the country. As he reached his late-20s is really when his name began to get some weight to it, capturing many independent titles and even getting work in national promotions, usually to fill tournament spots (where he would always perform well), and even getting booked in other countries, where he truly became to be known in wrestling circles. As he hit his 35th birthday, he had become a well-known name to many fans of the sport, earning himself the nickname of the Eternal Star (a nickname he is EXTREMELY fond of) but at the end of the show put on to celebrate his 35th birthday, he made a shocking announcement: he was ending his career in the ring, having felt he had achieved much of what he wanted. This was followed by another shocking announcement: he would be entering the world of MMA. Unlike SOME wrestlers that crossed over into the world of MMA, however, Tamura managed to find success there, gaining an 11-4 record and a title, before his career there was ended when his jaw was broken (shattered) in his second defense. After recovering from that injury and finding himself with too much time on his hands, the call of Four Islands came, and the Eternal Star answered.
