Character Info
Name: “The Viper” Olivier Roy (last name pronounced as “WAH,” because French-Canadian ish)
Twitter Handle (if applicable): @therubyviper
Height: 6’2” (Six-foot-two)
Weight: 245 lbs (Two hundred and forty five pounds)
Hometown: St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada
Age: 20 (DOB: April 4, 1994)
Years Experience: 1
Alignment: -3, very skilled and athletic but determined to win at any costs, even if it means bending the rules. Also, it doesn’t help that he has an ego and a superiority complex because of his Canadian heritage and abilities, which is FULLY encouraged by his mentor, trainer and manager, Bryan Cade.
Entrance Music: “Ruby Viper’s Sting” – FIPW Productions (Author’s Note: Think something along the lines of an in-house production of C. Viper’s theme from Super Street Fighter IV, minus the chorus on the background and more bass added to it)
*Many Japanese companies, like larger American companies, have their own in-house produced themes. Feel free to have your character use a FIPW produced theme, named whatever you like if you so choose. Just indicate this next to the song name.
Physical Appearance: Physical specimen, short spiky black hair, usually wearing sunglasses, toothy grin…and really, for PB’s sakes and appearances, it’s Rob Conway.
Ring Attire: Black elbow pads, kneepads and wrestling boots, ruby red trunks with the word “THE VIPER” written across the rear end part of it, red and black ring bedazzled jacket for the entrances with “THE VIPER” across the back of it.
Character:
Olivier believes himself to be the future of the wrestling business, having been able to pick up on the technical, chain wrestling side of things fairly quickly (the amateur wrestling aspect at school plus bodybuilding has helped) and with encouragement and support from his trainer and now manager, Bryan Cade, Olivier has no problems with showcasing his talents as one of wrestling’s young elite and letting his manager talk about it for him. He believes himself to be the “Chosen One” to lead wrestling into the next generation, if you will. He will work the crowd during matches and do things like slap an opponent on the back of the head, grind his boot on their faces while they’re down, pose while flexing his muscles, etc.
List up to three strengths of your character; they can be in-ring related, personality related, whatever you think helps define your character:
1. Technical/Chain Wrestling – He was trained in this style and honed it to damn near perfection…which is saying something given his trainer was once known during his wrestling days as the “Textbook of Perfection.”
2. Charisma – He may not talk too much, but when he does…people listen. Alongside that, he has a good look to him, he’s able to establish a connection with crowds no matter what he does and that’s a valuable asset to any company and to him in order to continue his climb to success.
3. Bryan Cade – His trainer, mentor and manager will handle the talking, will do the dirty work with distractions or sliding a weapon to Olivier and will do whatever it takes to see his pupil succeed and ascend to the levels that he couldn’t during his time as a wrestler.
List up to three weaknesses of your character:
1. Speedy/Agile Wrestlers – They will be a pain in the ass for him. Because as athletic as he is, they’re even more athletic and fast and stuff.
2. Inexperience – Only having one year under his belt, Olivier is prone to rookie mistakes like posing for too long and not noticing his opponent getting back up for the big comeback, cocky pinfalls that end up getting a close two count instead of the three, and overall rookie mistakes that can bite him in the ass.
3. Striking Predictability – Most of his striking comes from his right arm, hand or leg with the left side not being as prone to using those moves…so if somebody manages to target one of those parts, that’s taking away a good bit of offense altogether.
Athletic Background: Amateur wrestling, bodybuilding and hockey
Brief Career History:
Discovered during his junior year of high school by Bryan Cade, Olivier eventually moved from St. John’s, Newfoundland to Toronto, Ontario after graduating high school to train at the “Palestra Rectus” school, his talents shining through with each and every passing day to the point where Bryan considered him to be his greatest pupil since his own daughter Vanessa and current EXODUS Pro wrestler Chris Strike. Olivier trained under Bryan for six months, graduated and eventually started wrestling for a small company called Franco-Canadian Wrestling Alliance, which holds shows all across Eastern Canada. Within two months of his arrival, he won the FCWA Commonwealth title and has held on to it ever since. After his reign of dominance and the fact that he saw his own student continuing to get better, Bryan Cade decided to step into a more active role and continue his tutelage of Olivier by becoming his manager. Now, the two of them are on a mission to wrestle across the world, get their names out there and eventually make Olivier from a young, promising prospect into a bonafide World champion.
