In a shock announcement, the fledgling FIPW promotion announced today its biggest signing of all - "The Golden Hero" Kintaro Higashikata, returning to the sport of professional wrestling after a several year absence.
The announcement was made today in front of a packed house of reporters by Keisuke Ozawa, who seemed utterly giddy at the thought of the eleven-year veteran coming to FIPW rings.
"I'm stunned," Ozawa admitted, revealing that it was the Golden Hero who reached out to Four Islands management about the possibility of competing for the startup. "We never dreamed an athlete of Higashikata-san's caliber would be interested in our company so soon. It is my understanding we have his younger brother to thank for this honor, so to Tom Higashikata-san - thank you, from the bottom of all of our hearts."
Higashikata immediately becomes the company's best known talent, well known for tours throughout Japan, as well as being a mentor to younger athletes throughout his eleven year career. For a company with a notably young roster, the addition of Higashikata could well pay dividends, both in and out of the ring.
"He has asked for the best competition we can provide him," Keisuke stated, as the press conference wound to a conclusion, "and as such, it is our goal to let him step into the ring with the best we have to offer all at once. It is therefore my pleasure to announce that when we arrive at the Hakata Star Lane on the 2nd of December, our main event will be a six man tag match, pitting myself, MAXIMUM, and the Golden Hero, Kintaro Higashikata against the trio of Toru Nakamura, Kenjiro Ito, and the Eternal Star, Akira Tamura."
With that announcement, the press conference ended abruptly, leaving murmuring reporters in its wake.
