So for those of you who know my RP background, there's a community on IJ known as "youareamazing". It's basically a community writers can praise their storyline partners/fellow writers for being amazing/awesome/etc. Since we can't really do that here, I wanted to take a moment and personally commend all of you individually for a fantastic 2014. I'm going to go down the list and if you guys want, feel free to comment and participate.
Torrie: If people thought you were good last year, you stepped up your game this year. You were fantastic and told a great story about not just being in love with someone, but the frustrations of learning to trust that person when they can't always be upfront with you. Fiona went from being this comedic character to a serious, three-dimensional woman this year, and I am exceptionally proud of the job you did this year and everything you accomplished.
Cris: Dude. When I tried to recruit you, I knew the writer you were. I didn't realize what a funk you were in, but the turnaround from your first two tenures to now has been so amazing that I am so happy you came back to EXODUS. Kane isn't an easy character to make a babyface, but you've managed to do it in such a manner that people can almost forgive him for being an asshole on Twitter and on TV sometimes. You also finally joined the rest of us in the insanity and I couldn't be happier you've done so. You're a filthy United fan, but that doesn't take away the fact that you're a great fucking person and I couldn't be happier you're part of the gang.
Nick: Nick, you are the quiet MVP of EXODUS. Whether it's running RW, doing great things with your characters that might be the most entertaining in EXODUS, or whether it's writing your yearly main event, I can't help but really enjoy you as a friend, as a writer, and as someone who generally has a bigger heart than he likes to tell people. You've killed it this year as a writer, and some of the highlights of this year have been when I'm chatting with you and going back and forth with you on ideas that actually shape how I handle stories. Thank you for all of that.
Paige: If there's anyone who doesn't get enough credit for what they do in EXODUS, it's you. From helping with RW, to being a segment workhorse, to taking care of keeping people from going insane. You've done a world of good for EXODUS with the San Diego Bay title and just genuinely being a good person that I'm happy to call a friend. Of all the things that could have happened with the end of GDW, you being here is easily one of the best ones, and I'm super happy you call this place a home.
JB: If someone deserves an award for being the most improved person in EXODUS this year, it's you. You seemed to develop new life over the past few months and you've really started to turn things around as far as your RPs go. I know getting back into this gear wasn't easy for you, but now that you have, I'm super proud to watch you grow and develop into these new things. I'm looking forward to seeing what we can do together in the next year.
Chuck: DUDE. It's been kind of a weird friendship with us, meeting under admittedly strange circumstances. You're the first RP'er I've met that lives within driving distance, which also means we don't hang out as much as we really should. You've got a great mind and don't give yourself enough credit at times. You're an asset to EXODUS and I couldn't be happier to have you aboard.
Styg: Hard to believe I've known you longer than almost everyone here in the fed, right? You're one of the few that remembers my horrible comeback attempt about six years ago, but it's been a pleasure to watch you grow and see you develop. I'm pleased you've decided to join our family, and I hope you stick around for the much fun to come. Thank you for everything.
Allen: MY DUDE! The MVP of 2014 is right here. Whether it's writing five-star matches, five-star roleplays, or basically just a general lift of spirits and good times, you've been a huge part of EXODUS from its inception and someone I'm glad came aboard. I couldn't ask for a better guy to work with in all aspects of the company, so thank you for being you, even if you're lame as hell for giving us up for 2k15.
Chris: MY BRAZILIAN HOMEBOY. Chris, I can't thank you enough for being a friend, a good guy, or someone who helps out in a pinch around here. I can't believe you've taken a universe I started working on and enhanced it even more than I possibly thought could be done, and it's why I'm happy we've all done this together.
Clint: Two years later, and our dream is running strong. You and I have took a dream and a few other things to create a place people call home. We haven't just created a fed, but an entire universe that people are adding and contributing to just to make things a better place. On top of that, you're one of my best friends and the person I've known the longest in this hobby. Thank you for being you, and thank you for being someone I can count on.
Heather: Whether you're on the sidelines or in the hunt with us, you've been an integral part of EXODUS. If we didn't love you or care about you, we wouldn't have so many inside jokes involving you or know that we would do anything to protect you. If I can be totally honest, I see you as the group that keeps EXODUS together, and I will always be proud to stand with you and call you a friend when you need it. Thank you for everything, thank you being you, thank you for being the heart of EXODUS.
Las: What can I say about you that hasn't been said repeatedly? You're a brilliant writer, you're creative as hell, and you can weave a story like few others. Working with you is an honor and pleasure, calling you a friend is an honor and pleasure, and I've never worked with a better person who seamlessly transitions into characters so vastly different. It's a testament to your talent and creativity that you can do such things.
Jon (Aiken): Jon, this year has been a blast getting to know you. Again, you're one of these incredibly talented writers that creates such unique characters, and you've been a big help the past few months with doing graphics for EXODUS when I've been overwhelmed. Thank you so much for all you've done and I've had so much fun working with you down in RW that I can't express it enough.
Bryce: You know what's crazy? I've always known you for being a promo guy. You're hands down one of the best promo guys I've ever had the pleasure of working with, and over the past year, I've had the honor of watching you grow as a writer in fleshing out Chandler as being more than just some smart talker. Chandler has evolved as a character, and thanks to the storyline with Paige, I feel like you see a whole new side of him that's so much easier to buy as a babyface because of it. You still tell a mean promo, and I'm so glad you've finally decided to call EXODUS home for Chandler. You can still do amazing things here, and I'm looking forward to seeing what else you bring in 2015.
Wulf: Pete, what can I say? You're a hell of a guy that I've grown to call a great friend over the past year. Whether it's talking comics, upcoming ideas, or just generally bullshitting, I'm really glad you're in this place as a writer and a friend. I am thrilled beyond belief you and your girlfriend got engaged today, so please know that I can't give you enough credit for your contributions to me OOC as a friend the past year in addition to being a great writer and wonderful creative mind.
Norton: Jon, I don't give you enough credit for your willingness and desire to step up your game. You want to do well here and you've done so much to work on your roleplays and get back to the place Abby Park started in at the beginning of EXODUS. We don't always see eye to eye as far as music and movies go, and you're a Sox fan, but you're still a great guy that I've always been happy to hang out with in real life and on Skype when we get you around. 2015 is gonna be a great year for you, I know it.
Pete E.: The only other person in this place I've known as long as Clint, and I can't say enough about how talented you are. I know you and I haven't exactly seen eye to eye as much as we'd like to these past couple of months, but it doesn't take away your talent or skill. Keep on keeping on, man. You're a great dude.
Mike: If there's one thing that's effortless to say about you, it's the fact that you are hands down one of the most kindhearted people I've ever met in this game. In a hobby where being malicious can be part of the norm most of the time, you're kind and warmhearted, and you're creative to boot. There are times you try to do too much and times you try to complicate the simple things, but that doesn't take away how great you are by any stretch of the imagination. I'm happy to have you as part of EXODUS and I'm happier to know I can count on you if I ever need someone to talk to.
Cannon: I know there's sort of this healthy distance between a lot of the fed and you, but that doesn't take away your talent. There's few people in EXODUS I see being so consistently hard working and aspiring to get better, and you deserve the praise. Thank you for everything, and if nothing, being an entertainment to the rest of us in the best of ways.
Steve: Steve, I will tell you this. From what I know of you, nobody works as hard you from an OOC standpoint. It's sad you haven't been around much the past few months with us, but I know you're doing good things for your family and you. Writing wise, nobody inspires me like you do when I'm reading your work. When I'm down, no character consistently lifts my spirits like Steve Lenton, and no character may be as underrated here as Steve Lenton. If half the things you and I talked about pan out for 2015, then I have nothing but excitement for you. Thank you for everything, bud.
Sally: There are few people that make me smile consistently in EXODUS more than you, and I could probably write a novel about how highly I think of you. For the purposes of brevity, all I'll say is that I think you're wonderful. You've been such a wonderful and integral part of EXODUS and the stories over the past two years that I truly feel like you contribute so much, even when you're not an active member. Having you in the fed is a treat, and it makes me happy to know you'll always be part of us.
Adrien: You and I will always have our creative and philosophical differences, but that doesn't take away two very important things about you. 1) You are a creative and talented writer and 2) You are a good person with a good heart. It's hard to be that good of a person when life drags you down or even when things get that rough and difficult, but it sounds like you're off and running toward a better place. Thank you so much for your contributions to EXODUS and here's hoping 2015 is a renaissance for you IC and OOC.
Omar: There's a few writers I want to work with in EXODUS, and the fact you're here means that opportunity may be on the horizon for me. Nothing has made me happier to see that you've made it and I"m hoping that this new opportunity leads to creative excitement and so much more for all of us. It's been great to have you here, and knowing what we can do when we put our heads together is fantastic. Thank you so much for all of that.
Rachel: I distinctly remember you calling me a bastard once for selling our storyline so well on Twitter. It's one of the few things that's ever really made me laugh over encounters like that, and nothing has made me happier to know then the fact that working with you has been the highlight of the past year. You've been so much fun and the ideas we work on together have worked in ways I couldn't even imagine. Thank you for being so creative and testing me to improve my work so we can continue to make great things.
Sean: If there's one thing I can say about you, it's the fact you are an intensely creative individual. You're a wealth of knowledge and have managed to create some incredible things within the confines of the universe we work in. You've done magnificent work over the past year, and I look forward to seeing what sort of creative things you come up with in 2015.
Allison: You know how I feel about writing. 95% of what I could say right now will all stem from more personal feelings which I'll spare everyone here from, even if it's pretty obvious about how I feel. I don't have to say a lot other than the fact than you are a talented writer and 2015 may see the year you arrive to big things in EXODUS and Revo.
Torrie: If people thought you were good last year, you stepped up your game this year.
