YE OLDE FEEDBACK:
- Truth be told, I was considering just keeping Kamigawa masked for the rest of his career, but this is EXODUS and there's no way in Hell that would fly around here, so there's poor old Ryuji again, fighting to try and keep his tag team and nascent EXODUS Vanguard together, and wanting to earn the right to defend GLORIOUS NIPPONESE VALUES again.
As a positive, if he CAN, just imagine the former mercenary walking to the ring with a Pimp Cup O' Noodles. High comedy.
- Big win for Ruby, under admittedly unfortunate OOC circumstances. Liked the followup segment with Fiona. FRIENDSHIP is something that I don't think actually RL pro-wrestling ever focuses on enough except when it's being shattered, so I enjoyed the founding of a new friendship a lot.
- Pete did a great job with Salarygawa/Shozo. It's a big win for Arino, and I think one that the character had to have. The promo beforehand was hot fire from Shozo, one of the better promos he's cut, and the whole package adds credibility to Shozo and the REVOLUTION after a tough couple of weeks in EXODUS proper.
- Black Jones IS Marshawn Lynch. Tough night for him, though it gets better briefly. Thought the segment was very well done, but it's Allen, so of course it is.
- Good match with Jones/Chandler, and a NEW San Diego Bay Champion! Hey, that'll at least cheer Black up a b--lol nope can't have that can we? CREEPY LANTERN EFFECT and Jones gets his belt jacked by the returning Kevin Hardaway. Mara's promo to follow is excellent, but one can't help but wonder if this is the start of something - until now, the family has focused on Fiona and her direct allies in matches (ie, Kane). This week, Savannah Taylor fell into the line of fire. And now Black Jones might have an issue. Hrmmmmm.
- The Storm has formed, and man, those ninjas just don't learn, do they? I really love the Abby Park/Beowulf team because on the surface they seem so different but when I start putting even a tiny bit of thought into it the whole thing makes perfect sense. I'm also a sucker for face stables.
- Zack Lifer IS Solomon Crowe--but wait, Christum Furor is--oh, fuck it. Zack Lifer as a computer hacker makes some amount of sense, and I like that this shows up out of nowhere after a few weeks to show, nope, that fuckstick Lifer is NOT going gently into that good night. I definitely appreciate the restraint and patience being shown here.
- mara/Savannah does everything it has to. Savannah gets her big win, mara doesn't much care about big wins as much as making Savannah very dead with a steel chair, Fiona comes out to make the save. Certainly seems like the Seraph's putting together an alliance to deal with the family, doesn't it? MORE FACE ALLIANCES MAKES FOR HAPPY SEAN.
- The All-Star Las Character Jamboree is strong as always, and basically gives me a greater appreciation for Jackie the Lad - even just the touch of calling him Jackie Fowler makes him seem more serious, which is good because he's dealing with Andreas. The Daughters even have a creepy message, and given this is EXODUS, they're prrroooooobbbabbly right, too.
- New Eden is here, proving once again that Chris Strike can't beat crazy chicks. Huge win for Silk; it's hard to find a better way to come into EXODUS than beating someone the caliber of Strike.
- Fucking amazing Aries Reed promo. With Cannon gone, Reed is the undisputed best on the stick in EXODUS, and one of the best I've ever seen, full stop.
- Good work from Lifer, and heeeeeere's Beowulf. Man, if I was Lifer, I'd be a little more worried about my life. Then again, they DO say you can judge a man by the quality of his enemies...
- Disqualification win for Fiona over a refocused GRENDEL, but, of course, the story is post match, with the family invasion and Tyler and Taylor coming out to make the save. The followup segment completes a very well done and efficient one-night storyline, and leaves it for the family to respond with which of their members will be coming to the Repetition of Hatred. Also love trios matches, so this is a bonus.
- Huge win for Abby; tough loss for Aries. Abby now can focus on Strike and the iPPV, having dodged a huge bullet in the form of the REVOLUTION's brashest member. It's interesting, but it feels like Strike and Abby have very neatly reversed roles as we wind towards the iPPV. Aries will be back - we all know this, and he and GRENDEL have a weakened set of tag team champions to go beat up on anyway.
Very good show leading into the musical episode.
