Four Islands Pro Wrestling opened its first tour with a show in Shin-Kiba 1st Ring, and that show ended with the sort of mayhem and anarchy not usually associated with professional wrestling in Japan.
The evening's main event quickly degenerated into a brawl, with mara showcasing her usual disdain for rules and authority in brawling all over ringside with an overwhelmed Olivier Roy, who nonetheless tried to live up to his boasts and gamely fought mara as best he could. The official tried to let the bout go as long as possible, but when the Allmother picked up a steel chair and cracked Roy in the knee with it, he had no choice but to call for the disqualification. The attack continued post match, with an enraged Bryan Cade entering the ring - and promptly getting hit in the back with a chairshot from mara as well!
Finally, as mara looked to deliver a killing blow with her weapon to the back of Roy's head, Fiona Collins, Savannah Taylor, and Ruby Tyler, all from EXODUS, performed a shocking run-in to save the brash Canadian competitor! No sooner had they hit the ring, though, then the lights went out in Shin-Kiba. When they returned, mara was nowhere to be found, leaving the three EXODUS competitors standing mid ring as medics came out to rush to the aid of Olivier. Updates on the conditions of Roy and Cade will be provided as soon as they are available.
The six man tag beforehand, in retrospect, served as a more conventional main event to the show. The team of Keisuke Ozawa, Ryuji Kamigawa, and Seymour Almasy showed surprising cohesion in their bout, but ultimately, the Toru Nakamura-led trio was simply two strong on the night, with Naoki Arishima and Ichiro Nakazawa able to isolate Ozawa and Kamigawa long enough for Nakamura to hit his devastating Bad End on the junior-heavyweight Almasy to secure the big win.
The War Machine descended on the Four Islands for the first time, and Shinjiro Takahashi was there to greet Chris Strike in what turned ut to be a hard-hitting and competitive bout. Takahashi's size and brute force served him well at points, including ensnaring Strike in a Canadian backbreaker, and delivering a ring-rattling Musou for a close two count. The veteran Strike, though, was able to take advantage of Takahashi's aggression throughout the match, keeping him at bay with a blend of striking and impressive suplexes on the larger man. Ultimately, it was Takahashi's aggression that doomed him, pressing with another Musou attempt after the first kickout, only for Strike to disorient him mid lift with an elbow to the head, then shift to catch Shinjiro with the Narukami for the three count!
The evening's first three contests saw big victories for Junji Nagata, with the Sapporo youngster showing off his Sapporo Special to earn a win for FIPW against the former Desert Strike Wrestling army, as well as for Nobuo Iiizuka and Rika Morooka in their respective multi-person matches.
FIPW officials were said to be high on the performance of Naiser King in the opener as well, with the young powerhouse having moments of success against the veteran trio opposing him.
