Four Islands Pro Wrestling headed to the Shinjuku FACE for a show built around the company's younger generation. What it got may well have been more than it bargained for.
The main event saw former deathmatch competitors wage war for a shockingly clean near fifteen minutes, until Masami Inoue looked for victory with the Hellbent. Kiriko Miura managed to spit mist while upside down in the face of the Devil's Daughter, then cradled her for the victory. Post-match saw a rampaging Inoue swearing vengeance on the representative of REVOLUTION: Japan, who seems to be developing a nasty habit of making enemies...
Former Desert Strike Wrestling talent had mixed results on the show, with Barista putting forth his best effort to date against the beloved Kenichiro Honda. It wasn't enough, though, as Honda was able to catch the Coffee Making Animal with the Hundred Hand Slap in the corner, before ascending the ropes to put him away with the Sumo Splash to the delight of the crowd. More successful was Patrick Flanagan, who used the Luck of the Irish to defeat Yasushi Iguchi after a hard-fought battle. Iguchi's had a bit of a hard luck start to his Four Islands career, and he looked distraught after the contest.
Neither tag team match on the evening had an entirely satisfying conclusion, with Cruel ISM battling Rika Morooka & Chiaki Sakai to a fifteen minute time limit draw, and Samoan Storm defeating the power junior duo of Jun Nakagawa & King Kondo when Kondo frustratedly shoved the referee after Ofisa kicked out of a powerful lariat.
In the evening's first two bouts, Daiichi Kakihara showed that Junji Nagata is not the only youngster on the roster with potential, defeating the popular Sapporo native after an excellent contest with his version of the Rolling Elbow. Naiser King also picked up a big first FIPW win, using his size advantage to frustrate his fellow young lions, before putting away Tomohiro Ikeda with a modified spinebuster.
