Character Info
Name: BIFU
Twitter Handle: None yet because Twitter is an ass lately, but hopefully I can get one made ASAP
Height: 6'6"
Weight: 289lbs
Hometown: Obihiro
Age: 35
Years Experience: 15
Alignment: -2. BIFU is an arrogant dick, but he prefers not to cheat unless he feels really pressured. However he likes to toy with opponents when he has the advantage, loves to taunt the fans and gratuitously show off his strength, and is angry and aggressive basically all the time. At the same time, he does have a deep respect for his sport and its traditions, even if he's bad at showing it.
Entrance Music: "Tribe" by The Mad Capsule Markets
Physical Appearance: Broad, ruddy face with narrow eyes and slight underbite. Short black hair. Barrel-chested build, very muscular. Dark, cold brown eyes. Clean shaven.
(PB: Shuji Kondo)
Ring Attire: Shorts with kanji for "Japan's Strongest Man" across the seat and either violent patterns or KENTA / Samoa Joe esque two-tone colouring on the front, typically all in some combination of red and black. Black boots and knee pads. The boots have the same kanji design in white. Thin bicep bands, usually red.
Character: Bitter, driven, angry veteran who through a combination of bad luck, bad choices and hubris has never managed to become the star he feels he ought to be. He firmly believes he's the pinnacle of what a wrestler should be, and has little time for either high flying or brawling and sees people who use those styles as inferior. He absolutely detests garbage wrestling and considers its practitioners a joke.
List up to three strengths of your character:
1. Incredible physical strength. BIFU has been billed as "Japan's Strongest Man" in the past; this isn't actually true, of course, but he's more than strong enough for almost anything wrestling could throw at him.
2. Experience. Despite being a journeyman, BIFU has been around a long time and picked up a lot.
3. Capable technician, and boxing training (although that was a long time ago now).
List up to three weaknesses of your character:
1. Lack of conditioning / stamina.
2. Slow and unacrobatic.
3. Anger. It's not hard to send BIFU into enough of a rage that he makes mistakes.
Athletic Background: He has always been freakishly strong, and Bifu (meaning 'beef') was actually an adolescent nickname. He stood out in school at various sports favouring raw strength over athleticism, but his focus was always on combat sports. He boxed in his late teens, and has been wrestling since he was 20.
Brief Career History: Real name Adachi Yusuku, he started out in local Hokkaido promotions at 20, and his astonishing strength impressed a promoter enough to land him a job with a notable indie in the Kobe/Osaka area four years later. He found himself stuck in the lower card, however, and – having previously always been a big fish in a small pond – felt he deserved better. He embraced his increasing aggressive, bitter side and switched his ring persona from strong but meek boy to uncaged animal, and found a level of success he'd never encountered before.
He caught the attention of an Australian promoter and continued refining himself in Australia and New Zealand, then travelled to the USA where he landed a contract with Julius Jacobs' Universal Championship Wrestling. However, he found that he wasn't taken seriously and was continually booked in the lower end of the card. Disheartened, and disgusted by the smear campaign Jacobs targeted his friend Vorossa with, BIFU returned to Japan shortly before the company's closure, forsaking the North American wrestling scene.
But he struggled to regain a footing in Japan, which BIFU blamed on a combination of too much time overseas and the new "fad" (in his eyes) for faster junior style wrestlers. Since then he's bounced around various promotions, and beyond a handful of minor midcard and tag team titles, has never really found any serious success. But, now in his mid-30s, he's determined to change that before it's too late.
Wrestling Style: Power. His strength is by far his greatest asset and he centres his offence around it. He is also a functionally competent technical wrestler, and has some boxing ability.
