Character Info
Name: Yumi Ozawa
Twitter Handle: @yummyyummy_Yumi
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 131lbs
Hometown: Kobe
Age: 24
Years Experience: 7
Alignment: +5. Yumi is ALL THE SUPERBABYFACE.
Entrance Music: "Movement of Magic" by Natsuko Aso
Physical Appearance: Thin and well-toned. Big hair, dyed reddish-brown and usually styled into several bunches with long bangs at the front. Known for her wide, friendly smile.
(PB: Mika Nagano)
Ring Attire: Striped miniskirt over short trunks; knee length boots + kneepads; intricate longish corset-style sleeveless top with stud decorations; swirl print choker and palm-to-elbow armbands. These are all in a dual colour combination, usually monochromatic. The most common combination is silver and white.
Character: Confident, outgoing, respectful, and extremely upbeat. She's eager to learn everything she can. She's grown a bit reckless both in and out of the ring ever since her split from Yu Sakai, and subsequent feud with Sakai and Jitsuko Ishimaru. Even so she retains a positive outlook and stands up for her allies when they're in trouble.
List up to three strengths of your character:
1. Positive attitude. No matter what life throws at Yumi, she remains a dynamo of cheer and can-do spirit.
2. Speed and agility. She moves at a lightning fast pace.
3. Popular with the fans. She's the kind of lovable face crowds can't help but rally behind.
List up to three weaknesses of your character:
1. Soft-hearted. Yumi has a lot of concern for opponents' wellbeing, meaning she lacks a true killer instinct.
2. Reckless. Ever since her split from Yu Sakai, Yumi has grown more and more willing to take needless risks in the ring.
3. Although she's got excellent technical training and is decently strong for her size, flying is second nature to Yumi and within a match context she often forgets all of the options available to her.
Athletic Background: Aside from the general playing of sports at school, Yumi's athleticism has always been turned towards wrestling. She made her pro debut aged 17 and, aside from injury time, has been continuously active ever since.
Brief Career History: An exciting young wrestler tipped as a potential future star by her trainers at the prestigious Kansai Star Joshi Dojo. She and her longtime friend Yu Sakai were a successful tag team in training, and the two high fliers grew very popular when they debuted in Tokyo Pure Joshi Wrestling. They were expected to repeat their success, and indeed, quickly captured the TPJ Tag Team Championship.
However, another young wrestler named Jitsuko Ishimaru had designs on recruiting the sweet but stupid Sakai as her own partner. She manipulated the pair, slowly and subtly turning them against each other, and eventually Yu betrayed Yumi to side with Jitsuko under the name The Voodoo Cult. Feeling hurt, Yumi feuded with The Cult, but it took a lot out of her emotionally and friends worried that she was starting to go off the rails a bit.
Needing to forget about her ex-friend for a while, she jumped to focusing on the TPJ Kanto Championship and won it once. As TPJ came to a close she was embroiled in a three-way professional rivalry over the title with Akiko Aragaki and Mitsuki Nomura. That rivalry with Nomura quickly picked up again when the successor company to TPJ, K*PRO, opened, this time taking in the wUc Pandora's Poison Championship and the gargantuan rookie Ripper Kong. She also made a lifelong enemy out of Itsumi Hayashi when she accidentally broke the latter's arm with a senton bomb at K*PRO's debut show. Yumi feels terrible about it, and has tried to apologise, but Hayashi is having none of it.
Encouraged by her mentor, trainer and K*PRO owner Cannonball Kayama to spread her wings, Yumi has now signed with FIPW.
Wrestling Style: High flier. Lightning fast, using agile throws, hit and run strikes and a good dose of diving moves. She also has good technical training, although it's not what comes naturally to her.
