Personal Information
Name: Pete
Character Info
Name: Jin Fumei - "The Forgotten God". "The Laughing God"
Height: 6'
Weight: 215lbs
Hometown: Naha, Okinawa, Japan
Age: 40
Years Experience: 22 (including 17 in "Exile")
Alignment: -2 - Jin, whilst mostly his old self, is angered at what he considers to be the industry's betrayal of him, namely regarding the incident that caused his exile from the public face of the sport, and also the fans having seemingly forgotten his very existence.
Entrance Music: "Forgotten" - FIPW Produce
Physical Appearance: Pic base is Makoto Nagano.
Ring Attire: Plain black tights, tucked into plain black boots.
Character: Jin is a serious competitor, who has the combination of "Rookie out to prove something" combined with "well travelled veteran", mixed with a healthy dose of anti-authoritarian hatred for the system. He has an unnerving trait of laughing whilst being deathly serious.
List up to three strengths of your character:
1. Determined - Jin burns with an inner fire, a drive to climb back to the top of the competition. He does not give in easy.
2. Endurance - Even before his Exile, Jin was famous for his endurance, taking many high energy matches to time limit finishes.
3. Unknown Quantity - Jin has the exuberance of a Rookie and the ring presence of a seasoned veteran. This, coupled with the fact every one seems to have forgotten his existence makes him a very dangerous in ring presence.
List up to three weaknesses of your character:
1. Rusty - Jin has been out of the spotlight for 17 years. Although he's kept busy in the "minor leagues", he's been a big fish in a small pond for a long time.
2. Forgotten Rage - If Jin feels disrespected by an opponent, or anyone, he will go full on rage. In this "mode" he becomes sloppy and brutal, allowing himself to be either out fought or DQ'd.
3. Traditional - Jin's style is set from his heyday in the mid-90s. He may struggle against some of the more modern acrobatic styles.
Athletic Background: Prior his Puro career, Jin was a college all-star, specialising in track, amateur wrestling, judo and rugby.
Brief Career History: Jin had a very promising career in one of the major Puro feds of the early nineties, rising quickly from Young Lion status to be the company's resident Junior Ace, acquiring the nicknames "Junior God" and "Laughing God", reflecting both his innate skill in the ring, and his happy go lucky attitude. He won numerous accolades, titles, and tournaments, both individually and with others, until scandal dogged him. He was implicated in a drug trafficking scandal with Yakuza connections. Although circumstantial at best, the evidence was enough to destroy the young star's budding career. The company effectively retconned his existence, wiping his title reigns from it's books, and making it as though he had never existed. A broken man, Jin was promptly relegated to the outer Prefectures, partaking in small, independent shows, where promoters couldn't afford to be too picky about who they booked. For 17 years Jin picked out a pitiful existence, surviving from one match to the next, until a chance meeting with one of FIPW's founders gave him the opportunity he'd been searching for to climb back to the top.
