Character Info
Name: Jonathan Collins
Height: 6'3
Weight: 212 lbs.
Hometown: Anaheim, CA
Alignment: +3 (Jonathan Collins works an in-ring style that can go into a moral gray area, but other than that, people genuinely love the guy and he loves them back. He's really a great guy.)
Entrance Music: "Last Man Standing" by People In Planes
Entrance Description:
Physical Appearance: Physically similar to Milo Ventimiglia, Collins skin looks a little scarred from his time in the ring, in addition to laser surgery to remove serveral tattoos he no longer has interest in speaking about. With dark hair of fair length, Collins also prefers to have a little stubble on his face to none. Even if Collins has removed several tattoos, he keeps two tattoos on his body. One is the name "Madison" on his right wrist, and the other is a quote on the side of his ribcage which says "I have promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep."
Ring Attire: Jonathan Collins wears baggy shorts similar to what other indy wrestlers (most notably Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) have been known for wearing. HIs typical colors are black, silver, and maroon, which is noted in all of his gear. One of his shorts legs will have his new "ZERO Hour" logo, and his black boots with silver and maroon kick pads are typically adorned with his initials. He also wears black elbow pads and tapes both fists in long style, similar to CM Punk. His left fist, the one he uses for his ZERO Hour finisher, also has a 0 with a line drawn through it, signifying that it's indeed the fist he uses for the move. His entrance costume is a long jacket without sleeves and with a hood in black and silver.
Gimmick: Last of a dying breed meets grizzled veteran meets a Batman-esque archetype. No, seriously. You'll understand eventually.
Personality: There's really two Jonathan Collins you can encounter. There's the in-ring and out of ring. And sometimes (most of the time), the two can be encountered at the opposite time. Outside of the ring, Jon is well-educated, charming, witty, and he's actually kind of pleasant to be around. He's well-spoken, soft spoken, and everything you'd expect from a guy with a college education and a former English teacher. In the ring, Jon can be cold and clinical. He's reached the point where he's aware that it's a business. Unless he's in a rivalry with you, nothing he does is personal, and every move is made as such.
Oh, but then there's THIS issue.
Jonathan Collins is...not so nice to those who would dare rain down harm on him and those who he loves. Though he is by no means a deathmatch junkie, Jon has competed in several of them, and none of them by choice. However, his success in these matches has also earned him the nickname "the King of Violence." This has transformed to "The Saint of Violence" since his return to the ring, all because Jonathan Collins will go to those darker, violent places if pushed to the limit. If someone would dare make the fight that personal or bring a clear and present danger to his world, he will return it in kind...and then some.
List up to three strengths of your character; they can be in-ring related, personality related, whatever you think helps define your character:
1. Unafraid to travel into the gray area. The places babyfaces more valiant than him won't go, he will. His knowledge of the rulebook makes it easy for him to push them to the farthest letter of the law without breaking them...though if nobody's looking, all bets are off.
2. Concise. Jonathan Collins wastes little movement. Every move is done with a purpose, designed to exploit weaknesses.
3. Smart. Really smart. The guy was not only an educator, but as a student of the game, he knows his stuff. Collins is the type of guy who knows how to work a few steps ahead and make everything work to his advantage. His brain is a cloud storage for professional wrestling, its styles, and how to work any and all of them.
List up to three weaknesses of your character:
1. Right knee. Years of his in-ring style have taken their toll on his knee, leaving it open for the right submissions. Carry him out long enough and it might be hard to use it, especially when it comes to hitting one of his biggest go-to moves, The Parallax Shock.
2. "The Button." Everyone's got one, it's just that his happens to be his friends and family. At his best, Jonathan is clinical in the ring, separating his emotions from his actions. Threaten his friends and family (like Jimmy Riley or Fiona Rourke, especially his daughter Madison), and all bets are off.
3. Time. Time is the great equalizer, and it's catching up on Jonathan Collins. In his mid-30's, Jonathan has already resigned himself to his fate that it's catching up on him, and a stronger and faster competitor can really get into his head and exploit that. Younger speedsters (like Alex Brooks or Fiona Rourke) would run circles around him, leaving him having to catch them to become the one who dictates the pace.
Biography: What hasn't been said about Jonathan Collins through the course of sixteen years? Six-time World Champion. Multiple time secondary and tertiary champion, and eight-time tag team champion, along with countless accolades for being loved and hated. Throughout his sixteen years that have been touched by pro wrestling, Collins is haunted by some of his greatest achievements and worst mistakes.
The protege of the malevolent Hal "ZERO" Snyder, Jonathan Collins was trained to be a cold hearted killer, a ruthless ring machine. Snyder had looked to Collins to be his successor, the heir apparent to his throne as "The Perfect Evil." If you ask some of his former opponents and friends, it looked like that was entirely justified as well. Collins was walking pestilence, having been a cancer in several places he had been until deciding to forge a new path after meeting Helena Benes. A woman so unselfish and so loving of Jonathan Collins, she began to send him down a path of redemption. Between her, the help of Jon's former best friend Michael Trey, his best friend Darrin Stearns, and the birth of his daughter, Jonathan Collins began forging a path where he became not just one of the best wrestlers in NEW history, but one of the most beloved wrestlers in the world. He was a good man, a family man, and he was Rufus Frost's future World Champion.
Life has a funny way of changing sometimes.
In late 2003, Helena Benes was a fatality in a car crash, leaving Jonathan Collins alone. With Trey and Stearns retired from the business, Jonathan became an island until he found a new friend to forge a path with, Andrew Ashton. Teaming with him and Trevor Wrath to form The Infinite, Collins continued down his path to be a good man, raising his daughter with the help of friends and his brother Robbie. Collins' dream was realized when he finally claimed his one and only NEW World Title, a dream turned into the nightmare by the betrayal of Drew. Shortly after, NEW folded and Jonathan decided that with its closing, he would end his career. Finishing his education, Jonathan became a high school teacher, teaching English and creative writing to the young minds in the world. Pro wrestling became an afterthought to him...at least for the first four years. The older Madison got, the more curious she became about her father's background, and it culminated in Jonathan becoming a temporary masked wrestler and working tiny shows on the weekends. It wasn't much though, and it was enough to sate the itch. When the itch became too much in July of 2012, Collins returned to action.
And when he came back to pro wrestling, he found out just how hard it was to shake off ghosts.

Entrance Description:
The lights dim in the arena as the organ for the start of a song begins.
[div align="center"]I am the last man, stand, survivor
I am the last man home.
I'll be the last man, stand, survivor
I'll be the last man home...[/div]
The lights in the arena are dark, save for a few at the entrance way as they start to illuminate for the silhouette of one man. As "Last Man Standing" by People In Planes continues to play, finally kicking in with drums and full band, they finally fully light up to show Jonathan Collins in his gear and ring jacket, his trademark sleeveless long hoodie! Walking down the ramp slowly, he looks completely focused as he slowly makes his way to the ring. Sliding into the ring, he climbs one corner's turnbuckles and looks out to the crowd, starting to flip his hood back as he stays in place while surveying the crowd.
