I figured I'd try and get some debate going.
What similarities do you have with your characters that come out in your roleplays? Or are you completely different from your character?
Personally, I'm a goof, but I can be serious too. When I'm writing Andrew, I can take it to a whole new level and completely amplify it. When it comes to being a full on heel, I'm nothing like him. I guess when it comes to being a heel, I act out the guy I wish I was when drama came about - not giving a shit and wanting vengeance rather than forgiving all of the time.
I find that I'm extremely confident in my writing, but I'm kind of socially awkward that way to the point that when it comes to cutting a promo for Drew, I just don't know what to do. I know what I want him to say and stuff, but I just don't know what actions to have him doing apart from walking up and down, or what kind of scenario to have him in (my last roleplay is a perfect example of not knowing what to do). Because I can't see myself standing in front of a camera and cutting a promo, I don't know how to act it out.
How about you? Similarities, non-similarities and things that hold you back?

I am absolutely nothing like Daisuke, especially since my sex life is nonexistent.
However, there are some similarities between me and Jon Collins when I write him.
- We share a birthday (even if his is a few years before mine)
- We share a first name.
I also like to think I have his sense of what's right and what's wrong. I've long been a person who has tried to do the right thing (and completely fucked it up on more than one occasion. See: his friendship with Drew), and I think I sort of have his sense of mortality. I'm not thinking I'm dying, but I'm self-aware of my place in the hobby and life now. He sees that he can still contribute, but he's pretty convinced he'll never be the ace again. If he can contribute positively, why not?
Also, he has my taste in music.

Adrien Cochrane shares my name, birthday, a few appearance stuff, and the fact we're both musicians. He also shares my moral compass, sense of lighthearted sarcasm, and tastes. But possibly the biggest thing me and Adrien have in common is the fact that both of us go through life with a chip on our shoulder.
I have absolutely nothing in common with Chris Marks and as for Adrianna, she's only been my character for five days so give me a moment to figure her out.

Man... I am nothing like Zero really! Besides that we both smoke weed, that is really all about it. Zero likes to dip his hands into hardcore drugs at times, I don't. Zero is cocky, arrogant, and takes things for granted. I am not like that I don't believe. I am a lot more chill then Zero, he has a short temper problem as well and likes to rub things in people's faces. When I made Zero, my goal was to make him like me with some different traits, it completely went in the other direction. Next thing I know, I have a Heel that everyone loved and complicated me on. Most people take the drugs overboard but I tried my best to not make Zero like those mindless fools. Surprisingly, I almost SCRATCHED Zero from being a wrestler in the beginning because he wasn't what I was going for in the beginning of my e-fedding career as I was more obsessed with someone one like myself. The only thing that let me keep Zero, was bigger then myself, the people loved him and the spark he brought. I hope I have literally brought in a unique heel that (love him or hate him) you are entertained by him regardless. His thirst for being in the spotlight and doing anything to get there isn't what is unique about him.. It's all about the bridges he burns on the way But all in all, I loved making this character and I am glad he is the only one I have developed like I have. Can't believe my crazy ass was thinking about scraping him and instead I decided to make him the opposite of myself. I think of what I would say then I think of what Zero would say. It's been fun and that is what this is all about.

I think there's part of me that's Jimmy Riley; it's small at best. I got most of "me" out when I wrote a character named after me; Riley ended up being a creation of a character based on what I wanted to do. That's what I try to do with anyone I come up with anymore, though. I got tired of writing anything like me, because I don't consider that very interesting. Instead I try to create characters that I think I'd have fun writing for. And I think Rufus Frost is absolutely nothing like me, because until EXODUS, he was more of a blank canvas than anything else; people who knew of his existence (basically Jon and Mike) might think that there's more to him than what we've tried to write him as here... ...But that's not true.

Personality wise...I'm just like Senor Brooks.
Probably why it's so easy to write for him.

I'll drag both of my main characters into this. Adam Stryker, Sylar Drake and I share a taste in music, definitely, and Stryker is a fan of my favorite soccer team, Arsenal. We can probably say that Stryker has the bad sides of me and Sylar has the good ones.
Also, Sylar shares his birthday with my best friend, which is not a coincidence. Eventhough she doesn't know about that, lol.

Man... I am nothing like Zero really! Besides that we both smoke weed, that is really all about it. I never knew that about you... I'm not alone! Anywho.... Um... Well with Lexie, she's goes through periods of being like me, and periods of being nothing like me. Some minor stuff about her like her off-screen personality is a lot of me. And we're both Geminis (her birthday is a few days before mine). When I first started using her, and her name was "Kassi Kastigate", there was a lot more of me in the character. But I think over the past two years of using her, she's kinda developed into her own person. I am having her deal with not having a family (which is something I took from myself), but the method she lost her parents & siblings is a hell of a lot different (her parents died, whereas I just never knew my father and my mother and I cannot get along all that well). I don't really find Lexie to be too much like me in the end (i.e., her biggest vice is vodka, always has been). Though she does have a terrible fear of bush babies like me. But that's because any character I've written has something against bush babies. Um... everything that's on her twitter is basically me though. Oh, and she's 6'1", and I'm 5'1". So... wishful thinking there. As far as other characters I write go, there's only one character I've ever written that's actually a lot like me, Iphigenia Carmichael (I don't write with her often, but I do enjoy it). She's got my exact personality, my entire childhood up until I was 10 (whereas she stayed in the foster care system and got bounced around, my mom actually got custody of me again). I don't know, I really like writing for her, she's just a character I personally can't get a constant muse for, which is the only reason I've never really made her a big character for me. But maybe one day, if I retire Lexie, it'll happen.
