It's actually rather reassuring that I'm not the only person insane enough to think about this.

Just saw an epic exchange of OOC tweets between Blake Jones and Jimmy Riley, and it's made me want to start this discussion. Don't know if it'll go anywhere, but I'm actually deeply curious to see what responses it gets (if any). What is your view on realism in eWrestling? Now I know that this is an odd subject, after all the reason we do this is to escape from reality and nobody wants to imagine their character in a world that's worse than the one they live in, right? Makes me wonder if the truly rich ever tried this if they'd want to RP as homeless people, but then I guess since you naturally project elements of your own life in to that their homeless people would probably have lovely shoes and butlers. But anyway, the question remains, what is your view of realism in eWrestling? I love the idea of fantasy. I have, in the past, handled a character who was a playboy. He pretty much had a different girl in every city, an entourage the size of an army, enough money to randomly do whatever the hell he wanted without having to even worry about the cost of it, and it was a lot of fun. I can definitely see the appeal of anyone who does that, and if that's your thing then I know where you're coming from. It's bad-ass. My view however has changed over the years. I've been doing this entirely too long now (hell, I'm on the verge of celebrating the fifth anniversary of my current main character's debut, and I'd already been doing this entirely too long when they debuted) and now I like to bring about a lot of realism in characters. As a result, none of my currently active characters live a "glamorous" lifestyle. Lexy, for example, has to work a part-time job as a waitress just to be able to afford to pay her rent. I like that element of the character because I feel like when she's "made it" as a wrestler she'll have that to have built through, she'll have had hard times and she'll be able to look back on them and be thankful for where she gets to. Considering I started her as a face (almost all my characters start off as heels, lol) I think that gives her something real to hold on to. My current main character's father is incredibly wealthy, however unlike others who've played on that gimmick I've tried to put a twist on it to say that not only does she not necessarily get on that well with her family, but they also don't support her so she can have a fabulous lifestyle. She also works for a promotion that does house-shows, so another thing I like to think about with her is the tour schedule, how much she's on the road, how draining that is on her, and realistically how often she gets to even see her family. It's created a huge problem in the sense that realistically speaking I can't think how to introduce a new love interest in to her life because the love interest wouldn't be on the road, they'd be stuck in one place and she'd get to see them 1/2 days a week at best, assuming she didn't have to do any media appearances or wasn't left in the hospital after a match. And that's another thing I like to play on -- injuries. I try to pull back on that a lot because a lot of the matches she's been in she's been busted open, and I don't want her to end up with a face full of scars as a result, but I do enjoy the idea that she's hurt sometimes, she's not feeling one hundred percent, and especially after a big loss she tends not to get on so well in her life, after all when both her body and ego are hurt I don't like the idea that she's out dancing at nightclubs or throwing Tequila parties. And on the subject of appearances, I also had a conversation with one fed owner having finally joined a second fed (don't ask, long story, much frustration, moving on) as said character this week about limiting her appearances at house shows in one fed so she can appear in the other, and that led me down a route of wondering what her contract would say about that, after all WWE stars only appear for WWE and TNA limit their talent not to appearing on televised/PPV events for other companies as well. In the end, when it comes to that however, I've decided I just don't care THAT much because I want to join a new fed. So, am I the only one? Does anyone else think about ANY of this, or am I just out of my mind? Would you join a fed if the weekly show was on the same day as your currently fed's weekly show, even if it meant that your character would then be in two places at the same time? I'm actually genuinely curious to find out... but none of you probably even read this, did you? lol

Ok, I don't do this nearly enough... but I have an idea, and the beginnings of another idea, so... can I ask for a segment before my match and a segment any point after? Something like Segment Four and Segment Fourteen would be great, and I already have the idea for the first one so I may write that up nice and early and send it in.

Changed Lexy's entrance, due to the fact that Nate is out for a bit with a spinal injury and therefore isn't able to take part in her entrance for a while.
As the spotlights flash across the stage and the video screens come to life, “Cynics and Critics” by Icon For Hire hits the PA system.
[div align="center"]“We’re not cynics; we just don’t believe a word you say We’re not critics, we just hate it all anyway”[/div] As the music continues blaring, Lexy Chapel walks out on to the stage carrying with her a camera-phone. She walks to the left of the stage, filming the fans cheering, and then to the right of the stage, filming more fans cheering wildly before turning the camera around on herself and can be seen mouthing the word 'wow' in to the camera. After listening to the crowd reaction a moment longer she spins around and poses on the stage.
[div align="center"]. T H E . C H A P E L . S H O W .[/div] As the music continues to play she begins to make her way down to the ring, filming the fans as she walks past them and posing with a few of them, holding the camera out in front of herself as she leans back in to a group of the fans. As the chorus of the song begins she slides in to the ring and climbs up on to the turnbuckles, filming the fans again with her phone.
[div align="center"]“Oh this is all we know Oh tragic and miserable We’re not cynics; we just don’t believe a word you say We’re not critics, we just hate it all anyway Oh this is all we’ve got Oh we do what we’ve been taught We’re not cynics; we just don’t believe a word you say We’re not critics, we just hate it all anyway”[/div] She leaps down from the turnbuckles and walks to the middle of the ring before spinning around and turning the phone back on herself again, kissing the lens of the camera and then putting it in to her pocket. She removes her ring jacket and slips it in to her former before jumping back on to the turnbuckles again and posing, then flipping off backwards and standing in her corner, readying herself for the match.

Hey. I just saw your tweet. I'm kind of weird about OOC tweets on IC twitter feeds (I know, I'm very odd, what can I say?) so I didn't want to reply with a tweet, and 140 characters in a DM is a pain in the ass, so I figured I'd just post on here, since I don't know your forum name so I couldn't easily PM you. To answer your question, I did all the coding for it because I'm a software developer, and my friend made the actual graphics for it (he handles Nate Chapel, but he's on a LOA at the moment due to personal issues which I won't go in to on the OOC board). If you're interested in something though I'm more than happy to talk you through a few things, do some coding for you etc. I told Mr Collins that I'd try to make him something when I get a moment, and I'd be happy to help you out in any way I can as well. Just let me know.

Thank you kind sir. The format is still under construction, as is everything else (since it's a new character) but I'm happy someone likes it so far. No idea how far we can take it at this point, but it'll be exciting to find out.

Can we get segment 2? We had another idea for a "pre-debut video" that would be ideal before our match.

The debut episode of the Chapel Show. The format is still under development (as is pretty much everything, since it's a brand new character) but I thought I'd post this up as it was posted for an Open Invitational Battle Royal as an excuse to test out the character as much as anything. I quite like the way this turned out, but I'm not 100% sure on the format yet. The Chapel Show S01E01
