"Break From The Past"
Hello, EXODUS Pro fans! I'm Rufus Frost; you might be familiar with my family's chain of casinos; we're located on the Las Vegas Strip, as well as in Atlantic City, where my derelict brother Reno handles those properties.
Or...you might know me (and Reno) from our previous venture into professional wrestling; New Era Wrestling. From 2000 until 2004, the New Era Organization (now Frost Family Casinos) ruled atop the wrestling world. I, to be honest, wasn't a big part of that. But Reno had a knack for wrestling, and I certainly like to think I picked up on his talents. That, I would think, is why Jonathan Collins came to me when he wanted to start up EXODUS.
Jonathan and I go all the way back to New Era Wrestling; he's one of a select few people that I personally went out my way to sign under contract. His reputation throughout the world was already big, and putting him on NEW's landmark television show Breakout (featuring the commentary talents of our own Dick Morosi and Seth Ericson) was one of my finest achievements. So when Jon came to me and proposed the idea of EXODUS Pro, I knew he had the right idea; professional wrestling, no political nonsense, let's put two men (or women, or one of each!) in the ring and let the best one win.
EXODUS Pro isn't New Era Wrestling. I know I have no intention of it being New Era Wrestling, I don't believe Jon does. I've told Jonathan that I don't expect to see him in the ring.
Here's why; New Era Wrestling was great. But it's time for the lions of its past to be cast aside; talents like Morgana, like Jonathan Collins, and like the Ashton family are best left to the memory, in my opinion. I'll readily admit that Jonathan disagreed with me when I listed his name among those, but I think it's time for a new breed of wrestler. Jon's got his own stakes, with people like Fiona Rourke, and the kinds of talent he staked out like Omar Wise.
EXODUS Pro is a new beginning for the both of us in professional wrestling. Together, with Jonathan Collins' (r)Evolution Dojo, we're excited to take pro wrestling into the year 2013. I hope those of you reading this in the San Diego area will agree and join us on December 16 at the RIMAC Arena.
