There was the World Prestige Championship.
It turned into the WWA Double Crown Championship.
Next came into the UWL and it continued as if I never skipped a beat
The UWL Television Champion...
A 2012 Coronation Cup Tournament victory...
All capped off with the UWL World Heavyweight Championship.
What a difference what five years make, huh?
And now with the with introduction of Exodus Pro, nothing has really changed in my game.
I'm still the same Justin Brooks that burst onto the scene in the HRW...the same kid who got his nose broken with his very first match.
But now, I was older...I was bigger...I was badder...I was stronger...I was faster.
I carved a niche for myself and was dubbed The Big Bad Brooks.
I didn't have to call myself a monster because my body of work spoke for itself and others who stepped into the ring with me called me a monster after the fact.
There was a reason why Rufus Frost called my phone and made the necessary connections to get Justin Brooks into a Exodus Pro ring.
He knows what he's getting, he knows what's in store.
I come in...I conquer...I dominate...
...hands down.

[Jackson State Penitentiary]
[Jackson, Georgia]
[Jackson State Penitentiary]
[Jackson, Georgia]
A Georgian fall was something to see, even in middle Georgia. Granted it wasn't anything like Vermont or New Hampshire, but there was something about Georgia that just oozed relaxation and serenity. The oranges, red, browns and the occasional greens that seemed to be masterfully painted through the Georgia countryside reminded me why I enjoyed being a Georgia boy. But yet my visit through middle Georgia wasn't exactly for vacation as I took the trek down Instate 75 South. This was more business than anything else...
...more like family business.
And I as I looked out of the Jackson State Penitentiary waiting room, seeing my reflection in the double plated glass, all I could do was let out a deep sigh of anticipation and longing. It's been two and a half years since Nicholas was found guilty of assault and battery from a plea deal that would've given him five to ten years if found guilty, if it has gone to trail. He opted for the plea deal that would sentence him to four years only to serve three, early release if paroled. Granted, I didn't go into the details of his case and to be honest, I didn't want too. Nick had always been a hothead and I knew eventually his short fuse would end him up in trouble...but yet, he was getting out and as promised I was going to be the first friendly face he saw when stepping out of the cold prison walls.
I reached up and adjusted the red silk tie that was wrapped in a Windsor knot around my large neck, listening to the large beige door click loudly as the cogs inside started to turn, slowly pulling the large steel door back. I spun around on my heels to face the slowly opening door a smile began to involuntarily form on my lips as I saw him for the first time in over 700 days.
Nicholas Brooks...better known as Heatwave to a select few...and just like when I saw him in that Atlanta Courtroom when they led him away in handcuffs, he was still all smile. And even now at the sight of his successful little brother, he was still smiling as if he didn't spend three years in his own personal hell.
“Goddamn, little brother, you've gotten big since I went inside.”
I chuckled slightly as I shook my head slowly.
“A lot has changed since you've been inside...but let me be the first to welcome you back to the real world.”
With a large smile, Nick stepped into the waiting room from the other side and embraced me hard in a brotherly hug as he patted me on the back hard. Slowly he pulled back, giving me the once over as he ran his fingers over the collar of my custom tailored suit jacket letting out a impressive whistle.
“Hot damn, son...it seems the UWL is paying you quite well nowadays. Thank God, you got my sense of style.”
With a smirk, I shove his hand away as I shake my head slowly. “Well someone had to pick it up once you decided to go all 'Incredible Hulk' in Atlanta. Besides...it seems that you lost a bit of your style.”
Nick looked down at the current dress of rather baggy white t-shirt and khaki pants and groaned lightly.
“Yeah, don't remind me...listen can we finish this brotherly reunion elsewhere. I spent two and half years of my life in this pisshole and now that I'm out I don't want to spend another second here. Besides, I have to get in touch with my Parole Officer within twenty four hours.” he said with a sigh.
I placed my hand on his broad shoulder and chuckled gently.
“I've already taken care of it.”
With a arched brow, he looked up at me with a questioning smirk on his lips and rightfully so.
“Taken care of what, per say?”
“I've already spoken with your PO once I found out when you were getting out and as your only family, she was actually pretty understanding of what I explained to her and she gave me her word that she would allow you to travel out of state for work.”
“For work? Justin, what the fuck are you talking about? Brooks Sports Entertainment is closed...it's been closed for years. I had to file bankruptcy, I don't have two pennies to rub together and as a convicted felon, who's going to hire me? You?”
I just nod my head slowly as Nick just laughs to himself for a moment.
“Okay, so I'll bite...where are we going? What are we going to be doing?”
“The exact thing before I left the WWA...you're going to make sure that Justin Brooks because a household name again.”
“And where are we going to do that, you're already a Main Eventer in the UWL.”
“We're not going to Knoxville, we're going to the West Coast...we're going to San Diego and we're leaving tonight.”
Walking past my older brother of five years, I open the double doors of the State Prison waiting room, taking in a deep breath of the sweet Georgia air, which was quite refreshing from the stale yet sterile air of the Prison. I could feel the warmth of the sun on my face as I turned to look over my shoulder at Nick.
“You in or what?”

[Justin Brooks vs. Jayden Powers vs. Johnny Cannon]
[So here we are at that wonderful point in our program where we get our one-on-one time with Justin Brooks.]
[He's been a busy little bee since the release of the WWA...since the HRW.]
[He's become his own man...]
[He's become a champion over and over again..]
[He's emerged as The Big Bad Brooks]
[And now he's arrived in Exodus Pro as during it's birth in hopes to cementing a legacy that's he's work so hard to build.]
[But yet that's a different story for a different time.]
[We find ourselves staring at the 6'4” and 267 pound frame of one Justin Brooks. He's a physical sight to be hold as he stands in front of the camera with a black cotton t-shirt with “THE BIG BAD BROOKS” written over the chest of his t-shirt. A large bold GWR vinyl backdrop pulled taunt behind him as the studio lights seems to shine over its glossy finish.]
[Justin stands with a smile on his face as as he places his hands on the large forty-two inch waist of his dark blue denim jeans.]
“Ladies and Gentlemen...for those who know me, you already know the name...but for those who don't, allow me to introduce myself. I'm the man known as Justin Brooks and for some they call me The Big Bad Brooks.”
“And tonight, I'm here to speak on the very first episode for the Exodus Pro banner with Justin Brooks heading up against the likes of Jayden Powers and Johnny Cannon. Two men, who I haven't had the pleasure to stepping in the ring with but yet after our match...they are going to know the name very well.”
“But as Mr. Powers has stated that miracles -can- happen. And they most certainly have and they can happen...hell depending on who you are miracles happen damn near all the time. But sadly, for the likes of Powers and Cannon...there isn't a sizable miracle that's going to help either one of you when you step into the ring with me. Now, Jayden...I'm going to need you to do me a favor and do your homework other than reading the stat sheet and thinking you have something solid on me because I hate to break it to you, there's more than what you see. You talk about my childhood and the fact that my parents were both around only to move onto the fact that I went to college without thinking that everything I have, everything I've gained...everything I've earned, I've not only strive for...but I've worked for, I've bleed for...I've fought for. The fact that I'm a success, the fact that guys like Rufus Frost call my phone to come and get me into Exodus Pro is nothing but the product of years of blood, sweat, and tears. Years of broken bones, busted knuckles, broken promises, and heartbreaking defeats. You want to chase dream, Jayden? You want the dream of being a success...you need to understand that you're stepping into the ring with a man that turns those dreams into nightmares for guys like you.”
“Life is a bitch, you got that much correct.”
“And in the end, how we deal with it is all that matters...a very well spoken piece, Mr. Powers.”
“But the only thing that's going to be chaotic is when you realize that Justin Brooks is more than advertised...he's more than you expected...there's a reason why everyone else calls him The Big Bad Brooks. Jayden...”
[Justin sighs and he signals for the camera to zoom in slowly for a close up.]
“...understand that I don't care who you are, what you're about, or where you're from. I'm going to hurt you...I'm going to dominate you...I'm going show you why I'm one of the hottest things coming into Exodus Pro and I'm more than just a stat sheet.”
[The camera slowly zooms out as Justin slowly reaches up and runs hand over his smooth and freshly shaved chin.]
“Yet when it comes to our friend across the pond, I'm actually intrigued to see where Johnny Cannon comes into this equation. The kickboxer but yet with a veteran edge...with dreams of grandeur and hopes of the lights and the glory. But you're coming into the wrong place of business if you think that you're going to break your teeth on my back so that you can further your career either in a Exodus Pro ring or a silver screen. Then again, I'm sure that your man Goodrich has already spoken to you about that one already.”
“Gentlemen understand that this isn't going to be just some other wrestling match...this is going to be a show-stealer...this is going be a Five Star Classic...but underneath all of that, this is going to be a fight. A down and dirty fight...so who wants it more?”
“The delinquent who seeks redemption through fatherhood?”
“The British Kickboxer who seeks bigger fame and fortune?”
[With a chuckle, he shakes his head slowly as a soft smile spreads over his lips.]
“Hate to break it to you boys...but it's not going to be either one of you.”
[Justin's serious demeanor changes slowly as a large smile spreads over his lips. Opening his arms as the camera pans out slowly showing the wide wingspan of his large arms.]
“I am Justin Brooks...known as “The Big Bad Brooks” and soon enough, I will be your “Favorite Wrestler's Favorite Wrestler'.”
