The Chase Theory...
Exodus Pro, owned by Rufus Frost, was founded with a vision of fierce, spirited competition. It would serve as a promotion, different than any other company in the world. It would a place where men and women could compete in grueling tests of strength, wit, and will. A place where on any given day, one man or one woman could face off against one another, throwing away everything that they've done in the past, or the places where they've come from, and would find out who was the best. Three seconds, that's all it takes in this business to chance one's fortune, to alter one's position and standing. And the Winter Road Tournament would be the first opportunity for the superstars of Exodus Pro to prove their worth. It would be a tournament to decide who the very best was, and to give one man, or one woman, the right to call themselves "champion".
And that right would be earned by none other than Johnny Cannon. The road to the top of the mountain is an arduous task, one most people never accomplish. Few people have tasted the top, and basked in the glory of fame and fortune. Superstardom, Johnny Cannon had been accustomed for most of his life, living inside cameras and screenplays. Cannon went from the pugilistic arts, to the performing ones, and has achieved prominence to some degree. But that thirst for combat, it never went away, nor did the skepticism of those who question his toughness.
Exodus Pro represents a challenge for Mr. Cannon; a challenge to prove that the moves he demonstrates on screen, can be done inside a squared circle. He's here to show everyone that the motion pictures have not diminished his fighting ability. So he's out to prove that he's not a pre-madonna trying to cash a paycheck! He's out to prove that when you take away the flashing lights, the glitz and the glamour, that he's the baddest man on the planet, and the greatest fighter who ever lived. The Winter Road presents such an opportunity for him. He can defeat a plethora of well rounded opponents, men and women that have come from across great lengths in order to compete against him. And he will vanquish them, one at time, one after the other.

The camera pans, revealing a pair of empty director chairs sitting before an Exodos PRO backdrop. Walking into the view of the camera is Johnny Cannon and his manager, Quinn Goodrich; the former wears a designer sweater, pants and loafers, while the latter is clad in a two piece suit, their respective attires both expensive and lavish. They take their seats, being joined by Tom Matheny who looks into the camera.
Tom: "I'd like to thank both you guys for joining me tonight, and for our viewers as well, welcome to an official ExodosPro.com Exclusive with Johnny Cannon."
Goodrich: "Mr. Cannon always gives back to the community and the less fortunate. My client is a busy man, but he always finds time for his fans." He says in a condescending tone. "But since time is of the essence, do you mind if we get started. My client has many other appearances to make tonight." He states, folding his arms.
Tom: Sure I guess--- Mr. Cannon, what made you choose Exodus?
Cannon: "I didn't choose Exodus, they chose me." He arrogantly replies, laughing to himself. "Listen Tommie, when you're somebody as accomplished and important as I am, people just throw themselves at you."
Tom: "Is that what you're suggesting?" He says, inquisitively.
Goodrich: "It's not a suggestion, it's a fact." He interjects.
Cannon: "That's exactly what I'm saying Tommie boy. I'm an international and domestic superstar. I'm sure you've seen my movies. You've probably got posters and fatheads of me in your apartment. I'm a money maker. Rufus Frost, he likes making money, and you can put two and two together..." He declares, removing his Aviator shades from his face. He has a calm, yet self-absorbed expression.
Tom: Let's say that I can, you could have said no? There's a lot of good wrestling promotions in North America. Exodus is new and upcoming, obviously a man of your stature-
Goodrich: "A man of his stature and pedigree can go wherever he pleases." He interrupts, almost as if taking offense to the question.
Cannon: "It's fine Quinn. He smiles, tapping Goodrich on the shoulder to calm him down. "Listen Tommie, I've got two words for you: Open Contract." He answers, grinning. "That means I get paid for every appearance I make. I can go as I please. No one else in Exodus Pro has a contract like mine. My deal is laced with incentives and a bunch of other stuff that I'm not going to go into detail about it." He explains. "The point is, I'm competing here because they've thrown me a lot of money. That's the main reason. The other, is the competition. There's a lot of guys on this roster that I've seen in the independent circuit. You've got people that have been regarded as the best fighters and wrestlers in the world. I'm going to show them that they've been lied to." He declares confidently.
Tom: "Your opponents this week will disagree. They're Justin Brooks and Jayden Powers.
Goodrich: "They can disagree all they want Tom. The fact of the matter is, they'll be in the ring with a renown superstar. That's what people need to understand. Johnny Cannon doesn't have to wrestle any of these guys. He's already better than them. He's a successful actor, and MMA star. Who else can say that? Nobody. Winning this Winter Road tournament will just be another accolade on my client's long list of accomplishments." He says boastfully.
Tom: "So Brooks and Powers don't have a chance against Cannon? Is that what I'm hearing?"
Cannon: "You're not deaf, and Quinn didn't stutter. Brooks, I can respect a guy like that to a certain degree. He's got the kickboxing background, he's won championships in his career. It would be foolish of me to suggest that he doesn't have the credentials or the ability. You don't become a household name like Brooks has if you're a pushover." He pauses for a moment, leaning up in his seat. "But if he thinks I'll be intimidated, he's sadly mistaken. The 'Big Bad Brooks' is just a name he and his marketing team came up with to sell himself as some sort of behemoth to the peasants, but I'm not buying it. He claimed that he's one of the hottest things coming into Exodus Pro, well listen closely Justin... I AM the hottest thing. I'm the hot commodity here." He professes, slamming his fist into his hand. "Justin, don't let the fact that I've been on the big screen chasing Academy Awards and Oscars fool you, or make you forget about who I am or where I come from my friend. I was born in LONDON, ENGLAND!" He shouts with pride. "I spent most of my childhood however in Blackpool. I used to fight my way to school just to get an education. These fists, they have a plethora of stories and tales embedded in them which you can read in my white knuckles. I'm a fighter. Always have been, always will be." He adjusts his Citizen Echo Drive wristwatch as it glimmers under the spotlight. "And I'm here in Exodus to remind you people who seem to have forgotten. I'm a fighter. My religion is winning, and it's my custom, so I suggest you get accustomed to that fact because when we meet in the ring, I'll be coming. I'll be throwing everything at you, including the kitchen sink and the cupboards. You got one thing right though. It's definitely going to be a fight... and I'm going to prove to you how much I want it when I'm striking you in that empty head of yours with the ball of my foot!" He vehemently declares.
Goodrich: "That's what this is all about Tom. It's to prove to everyone that Johnny Cannon is the greatest fighter who ever lived. And the only way for my client to do that, is to come here to Exodus, and to beat these second rate simpletons into submission. Guys like Justin Brooks, they've got their heads so far up their own asses that they can't smell greatness, and sophistication when it's right in front of them. And that's what Mr. Cannon is. He's sophisticated and great. But you'll see all of that and more from him when he graces the Rimac Arena with his illustrious presence. You'll be witnessing Johnny Cannon's pinpoint, deadly accurate striking, and flawless execution. You'll be seeing a man who takes care of business. You'll be seeing a man that will eventually win the Winter Road Tournament, and be crowned as the best of the best." He claims, pointing at Cannon whose head begins to swell to substantial proportions.
Tom: "Jayden Powers will have a say in that matter. He's the other man in this equation." He says before glancing at his notes.
Goodrich: "And that's all he is and will ever be, the other guy. " He says, quickly giving his two cents on the matter.
Cannon: "You're absolutely right, he does have a say in the matter, but he won't be saying much. That's because he'll be too busy swallowing his pride, and a size twelve boot..." He says with a chuckle, while wiping a fake tear from his eye. "You're nothing but a feel good story. A degenerate, low life who decided he wanted something better for his daughter. That's nice. You could have your life story sold on a hallmark card. You're not getting any sympathy from me though my friend. All you will receive is some trauma to the head from a blunt object, that of which being my closed fist." He brandishes his fist before the camera. "And it's a shame really, that I'll have to send you back to your daughter in a hearse. But that's what I'm prepared to do, to show you that you don't belong in the ring with me. Justin Brooks says he turns dreams into nightmares. I'm not going to do that. I'm just going to shatter them. Your dreams will be reduced to remnants and fragments, and I'll leave you lying in them my friend."
Goodrich: "And that's not a promise, it's a guarantee. Jayden Powers is without a doubt the weakest link in this match. As far as we're concerned, this will be a spectacle wrestled and fought by Brooks and Cannon. Powers doesn't stand much of a chance."
Cannon: "Both these guys are coming from different worlds. One is a recently reformed criminal and drug attic, the other is a pompous prize fighting type. Powers is the type of person you should be visiting behind bars. And Brooks, he's a Neanderthal. You think about the cavemen from old times, where you had the guys who created the wheel and discovered the fire, and you had the mindless brutes who hit things with clubs. Brooks is the latter, and yes, he may have evolved to a point where he can formulate sentences, and maybe even read books, but he's still got more muscles than brains. The thing is, they're both heading in the same direction. They may come from opposite backgrounds, both they're both going to reach the same destination. And that's the bottom, that's beneath my feet. The only way to keep the competition in line is to crush it Tommie. And that's what I do. I crush the competition, be it on screen, inside an octagon, or now, inside the squared circle. When I'm finished with these two, Powers will be back on drugs, and Brooks will resort back to the ways of his ancestors, speaking in slurs and grunts."
Tom: "Strong words Mr. Cannon. One final question, what can we expect from you in Exodus Pro?"
Cannon: "I don't know what you can expect, I'm not here to satisfy or exceed anybodies expectations. The only person I'm in this for is Johnny Cannon. That's it. You can love me, or hate me, it doesn't matter to me. That's not important, it's of no consequence to me. I'm gong to be me regardless of the naysayers. And you know what I am Tommie?" He questions, but just as Tom begins to answer, immediately cuts him off. "A superstar. A bonafied, class A superstar. And while I'm here in Exodus Pro, I'm going to flourish my god given talents, those of which that are unmatched. So when you tune into Exodus TV This week, when you're watching me do my thing... try your best not to blink... because you might just miss the highlights." He says with a self-absorbed grin, simultaneously placing his Aviators back on.
Tom: "Well, I'd like to thank Mr. Cannon and Mr. Goodrich for joining me this evening. Make sure you tune into this week to the very first episode of Exodus Pro TV! We'll be live from the Rimac Arena in San Diego, California where Johnny Cannon will face off against Justin Brooks and Jayden Powers in the first round of the Winter Road Tournament. If you're in the area, make sure you come through so you don't miss any minute of the action. Goodnight."
