And before I head to bed, the next round... ROUND 3: OLDIES AIN'T ALWAYS GOODIESIt's the late 80s. WWF is building a head of steam, and has easily established itself as a dominant market force. Jim Crocket Productions is rapidly becoming WCW, and the good era of WCW at that. The NWA (that which isn't involved in JCP/WCW anyhow) has begun to die it's inevitable death. Seeing the writing on the wall, a group of feds decide to pool their efforts, and create a new market force: the USWA. AWA, CWA, WCWA (or WCCW as you may remember it) and even PWOW all contributed talent to AWA's SuperClash III, it's headline match being a title unification match to unify the AWA and WCWA World Titles. Basically, it all went tits up. AWA pulled out after the event, before USWA could even get running. Rumour has it they were unhappy with the way the results went, the PPV (the first in the company's history) buyout was lower than expected, and they tried to cut their losses. WCWA's already dire financial situation was exacerbated by the affair, leaving them open to being bought out by CWA's Jerry Jarrett and Jerry Lawler, forming the USWA. That only lasted a couple of years until WCCW broke off again. The von Erichs, who still had a 40% stake in the company, were dissatisfied with the revenue share. The USWA limped on for years, until the mid-90s, until it finally keeled over during the Monday Night Wars, just unable to stay relevant in the new world. But let's go back to that evening in December '88. When there was so much promise on the horizon. That's where you're picking from next: Choose someone who competed on the card of AWA SuperClash III.

They don't like heavy metal, they don't like rock and roll. All they listen to is Barry Manilow. They are the All American Boys.......The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers
