Hello EXODUS fans, I’m Tom Matheny. Tonight, exclusively for www.exoduspro.com, I’ll be giving you some amazing footage from the most recent Global Championship Wrestling pay per view, Resurrection! It was revealed several weeks ago that EXODUS’ own World Champion, Andreas Lasiewicz, had won their version of the annual ‘Civil War Match’ (a three ringed battle royale match, with a triple threat as the final). Ironically, this came on the tenth anniversary of his first Civil War victory. As is tradition, the winner of this match goes on to compete for GCW’s top title at an upcoming PPV. In this case, that was Resurrection.
What made things extremely interesting was the fact that the champion of GCW was a figure quite familiar with regulars at the RIMAC. That figure is Kayla Marie S. Jones, a woman who was romantically involved with ‘The Polish Spirit’ for the better part of last year. Emotions would have definitely been high, especially seeing as it was their first meeting since their relationship supposedly ended seven months ago.
And that is why we are here today. As per the agreement for this match between EXODUS Pro and GCW, we are allowed to show you the footage of this match in its entirety! But before we get down to the nitty gritty, let’s take a look at what happened backstage prior to the contest!

ROLL FOOTAGE

(Backstage we find Kayla Jones, clad in her blue and white ring gear pacing the halls, her GCW World title glistening upon her shoulder. If her hair wasn’t dyed as black as night, she’d look the very part of an ice queen. She seems in deep thought as she prepares herself for her biggest challenge yet as champion.)
Lasiewicz: Finally alone…
(Kayla suddenly turns upon hearing that ever so familiar voice. The look upon her beautiful features is one of shock, with the very hint of fear. This time last year, that look would have been of happiness and adoration.)
Kayla: W-what is this? Is this what you have been planning all along? Waiting till I’m by myself so you can get a cheap shot in before our match? Is this how you work, Andreas?
Lasiewicz: Kayla… You know me much better than that.
Kayla: So what is this? Confronting me before our match. You’ve not shown up for any GCW events leading up to this match, you’ve not been seen anywhere near this company and now… Now you show up minutes before our match. What is with that?
Lasiewicz: I’ve been here the entire time, Kayla. Just because you haven’t seen me, doesn’t mean I haven’t been here.
(Andreas Lasiewicz, clad in his own crimson and gold ring attire begins to circle the younger Jones sister, making her feel incredibly uncomfortable. Over his shoulder is his newly acquired EXODUS Pro World Heavyweight title.)
Lasiewicz: You ever hear of the opportune moment, Kayla? Patience is a virtue, is it not? There have been many, many matters to attend to over the past few months. And I have been attending to them, starting with the least importance, building up from one to another. And now I come to you, the woman who left a dagger in my back.
Kayla: I did what I did for us, Andreas. I did it for our future.
Lasiewicz: Who are you trying to convince? Me, or yourself? You were the one who sided with Dan Herrera, hence getting me fired from GDW…
(Kayla looks about herself, checking to see if the cameras picked up Andreas’ revelation. She attempts to take a half step back to compose herself, but ‘The Morning Star’ is right up there in her personal space. )
Lasiewicz: Is there need for such worry? You knew that news would be spilled to the public a one time or another. Did you tell any other members of your clan that this was the case? That your name was the final signature that took me away from the federation I had selflessly defended for so many years.
Kayla: I did it for us, Andreas. I did it for the children. I know what this business has done to you; I know what it has taken out of you. I just… I just wanted you to come home, to leave this business before it took anything else away from you.
(Kayla takes a few steps towards her former lover, a small yet nervous smile spreading upon her features. Her hand, slightly shaking, strokes his handsome yet grizzled features. Lasiewicz remains steadfast, staring daggers into the woman he once shared a home with.)
Kayla: You weren’t yourself; you were becoming someone else again. You know that it’s not too late, it’s never too late. You can always come home. You can always come back to me.
(Out of nowhere, Kayla grabs Lasiewicz’s face with both hands and forces her lips to his. Andreas is completely taken off guard by this approach, yet manages to push her off of him. She seems startled, even more so when he launches a vicious slap at her, knocking her down to the tiled floor.)
Lasiewicz: Get the fuck off me, wench.
(She is holding the side of her face, a huge red handprint upon it.)
Kayla: Y-you sonovabitch!
(Kayla suddenly flies at Andreas, her right foot snapping towards him with a Kaylan Wind Kick. But she connects with nothing.)
Lasiewicz: You have to be faster than that…
(She spins around, seeing that nobody is around her. But yet she can hear his voice in the background, growing quieter as it went on until it became a whisper.)
Lasiewicz: You took away my job, my home, my family but you failed to take my career and my soul. And tonight, in return for your misdeeds… I’m taking that title you hold so dear. I will have my revenge… And there is nothing you can do about it.
(Once the voice as completely trailed off, Kayla picks herself up.)
Kayla: Wanna place your bets on that? I’ve got a surprise waiting for you.
(A strange smile spreads upon her lips, and after wiping them she turns away as the footage returns to ringside.)

A interesting, yet shocking turn of events backstage before the match, yet this wouldn’t be the last before these two faced each other later on in the night. Could this involve the ‘surprise’ that Kayla had in store? Let’s find out!

(We cut back to the office of the new head of wrestling operations Samantha Hodgson. She is at her desk when Angelica Jones comes storming into the room.)
Angel: What exactly are you planning, Samantha?
(Hodgson feigns innocence.)
Samantha: I have no idea what you mean, Angelica.
Angel: Don’t play games. I’m not in the mood.
(She approaches her desk and stares into her eyes.)
Angel: I know that look and I know what it means. You have something on your mind and you’re not telling me.
(She shrugs her shoulders.)
Samantha: Maybe I do, maybe I don’t.
Angel: Remember one thing Samantha, one important thing…Kayla is my sister, she is my family, but Andreas is the father of my child and while he may not trust me I do want to make things right between us.
Samantha: That’s so touching but…
Angel: Shut up. I’m not finished. What I’m here to tell you is that if you’ve done anything to hurt either of them, anything at all, you and I will have words. Are we clear?
Samantha: I can promise you that I have done nothing that will hurt either of them.
Angel: That’s smart of you.
(Angelica turns and walks off. We cut back to the ringside area.)

Now this part might seemed randomly placed, but this interaction was between Angelica Jones (Andreas ex wife) and Samantha Hodgson (the director of operations). The goings on backstage signified some form of change for the long awaited main event. Let’s go to that match now, the EXODUS Pro World Heavyweight Champion going one on one with GCW’s World Champion.

Powers: This one has been building for what seems like ages. The champion went ballistic when she found out Glory Braddock signed Andreas Lasiewicz to a GCW contract allowing him to compete in the Civil War Match.
Torres: By virtue of winning that match the legendary Lasiewicz earned the right to compete for the GCW World Heavyweight Championship, currently held by his ex-girlfriend Kayla Jones.
Powers: You don’t get any juicier than that.
Torres: Take it away, Lee.
(We cut to Robert E. Lee in the ring.)
Lee: Ladies and gentlemen, it is now time for the main event of the evening and it is for the GCW World Heavyweight Championship! Introducing first, the challenger, from Krakow, Poland, he is the reigning EXODUS Pro World Champion, “The Morning Star” Andreas Lasiewicz!
The lights in the arena begin to dim slightly as a faint yet beautiful piano piece begins to play out in the background. Several spotlights circle around the arena as the crowd looks around in awe. Swirling violins begin to play out a haunting rhythm as smoke emits from the entrance way. Barbarian Horns fire up along with a thunderous dub step beat and distorted guitars as the Instrumental Core Remix of Hans Zimmer’s ‘Time’ fully kicks in. A hooded silhouette appears in the thick grey smog; his head is bowed as he methodically makes his way to the ring. The shrouded figure of Andreas Lasiewicz steps out from the back, seemingly smoking a cigarette; his head lolled to one side as he surveys the crowd with a police baton resting on his shoulder. He pauses then points his baton towards the ring as he slowly paces there.
As he reaches the ring, he stops to stare out in to the crowd, he flips back his hood and lets out a short, cruel laugh as he rolls into the ring and removes his jacket. He climbs one of the turnbuckles, searching out into the crowd with a Cheshire Cat grin across his face. He hops down as he spins the baton around in his left hand for a moment before resting back against the turnbuckle, staring up into the heavens as if he is looking for answers.
Lee: And his opponent, from Boston, Massachusetts, she is the reigning and defending GCW World Heavyweight Champion, Kayla Jones!
(“Bring Me To Life” by Evanescence begins to echo throughout the arena. The crowd begins to cheer for this signals the coming of Kayla Jones. Kayla steps out onto the stage to greet her fans. Kayla continues to take in the cheering and applause as she makes her way down towards the ring. Kayla slides into the ring from underneath the bottom rope and then she hops up onto the second turnbuckle, facing the crowd, and raising both arms up high in the air. Kayla then hops down off the turnbuckle and waits for her opponent.)
Torres: This is going to be an epic blockbuster.
Powers: For once we agree.
(Both athletes are in the ring now, both in their respected corners as they stare daggers into each other. The referee checks both of them, making sure they understand the rules of this contest. The crowd is at fever pitch right now, eagerly anticipating a match up that is months in the making. The ref then takes the GCW title from Kayla, who gives it a longing kiss before she lets go of it. The ref shows it to Andreas, who nods his head, knowing what he is fighting for. The ref raises it above his head. As he hands it over to the timekeeper, he is just about to signal for the bell when…)
Samantha: Wait… wait before you ring that damn bell.
(The crowd are unsure what to think on this development, but Kayla seems to have a smile growing upon her face. Samantha Hodgson has just stepped through the curtain holding a microphone and is quickly pacing her way towards the ring.)
Samantha: Now, as you all may have noticed, the deck has been very much stacked against Miss Jones over the past few months. Glory Braddock has done everything in her power to belittle YOUR World Champion and has done everything possible to ensure she will be dethroned here tonight. I call this a grave injustice, and I also believe this match is entirely unfair.
(Samantha climbs up the ring steps and into the ring, clutching a document in her hands as Kayla politely applauds her entrance. Andreas himself looks a little confused, but remains in his corner watching on.)
Samantha: After all, not only is the man she is facing well known for being unstable, he is also a recognised World Champion in EXODUS Pro Wrestling. Now, I personally feel that it is greatly unfair that Miss Jones has to defend her title tonight, whilst Mr Lasiewicz’s is not on the line.
(She turns to Andreas, staring at the EXODUS title upon his shoulder.)
Samantha: Now, I have had a meeting with one of the premier officials of EXODUS Pro Wrestling, a man going by the name of Cleon Gray…
(Lasiewicz’s eyes roll back upon hearing that name, the name of a man who he has had one or two disagreements with over the past few weeks.)
Samantha: He has listened to a pitch I have made tonight, and he has agreed to all of my propositions. This matter was discussed at great length, and it’s outcome is as such… Kayla Jones has signed a one night contract with EXODUS Pro Wrestling to allow this stipulation to take place. As you see, it is not just the GCW World title that will be on the line tonight… Here in my hands is a signed and official document stating that Andreas Lasiewicz will be defending his EXODUS Pro World Heavyweight title for the very first time, right here, right now in a WINNER TAKES ALL MATCH!
(Lasiewicz runs right over and snatches the document from Sam’s hands as the crowd go wild. He scans over it before laughing out loud as he shakes his head. Kayla looks on as she shouts ‘Told you I had a surprise for you’. Andreas glares at her, then at his own World title. Realising he has little choice in the matter, he hands the title over to the referee. The ref shows it to Kayla, and then raises it in the air. As Samantha exits the ring, the bell is rung and the contest begins.)
Torres: My God! Samantha Hodgson just pulled off a major league coup!
Powers: This changes everything, Torres, and it may have just given Kayla Jones the edge she needed.
Torres: What do you mean by that?
Powers: I’ve fought Lassie before, I know him. He is a man who relies heavily on strategy and preparation. He had no time to prepare for this.
(Andreas goes for a lariat but Kayla ducks and then strikes with quick kicks to the tight and midsection followed up by European uppercuts that stagger her larger opponent. He shoves her off into the ropes and she rebounds with a spinning heel kick but he doesn’t go down. Kayla snaps off a standing dropkick and finally he is taken off his feet but he quickly scrambles back up. Jones is right on top of him with more martial arts kicks that stagger him back into a corner. She goes for a whip but he reverses it, sending her into the opposite corner. He rushes in and delivers a corner splash. He takes a few steps back and delivers a stinger splash as Kayla slumps down in the corner. He then hits the ropes and comes back with a running facewash to Jones.)
Torres: The GCW Champion got off to a quick start only for that offense to be halted by the EXODUS Pro Champion.
Powers: It takes a lot to put him down and keep him down. Christum Furor found out the hard way how damn hard it is to keep him down and Jones is finding out tonight.
(He pulls her to her feet and whips her into the ropes as he hits the other side, rebounds, and decapitates her with a lariat clothesline. He pulls her back up and she pokes him in the eyes. She leaps to her feet and connects with a standard enziguri kick that puts him down. He sits back up but she nails a low dropkick to the face that puts him back down again. Kayla steps out to the ring apron and waits as he pulls himself up. He gets up and turns around and she springboards back into the ring, looking for Kaylan Wind Kick Version 3.0 but he ducks out of the way. Amazingly she lands on her feet, hits the ropes, and goes for a cross body block but he catches her in mid-air and drops her with a running power slam.)
Torres: So far Kayla Jones has been unable to figure out how to stop the onslaught of Andreas Lasiewicz.
Powers: It’s a tough task to do. Few have pulled it off.
(He pulls her up to her feet and strikes her back down with an implant ddt. He follows that up with a tear drop suplex, making certain to drop her on the back of her head and neck. He slaps on a neck vice.)
Torres: It appears as if he is going to focus his attack on her neck area.
Powers: Smart strategy. Her history of neck injuries is well documented.
(Kayla slowly fights her way to her feet as Andreas switches to a side headlock. Kayla breaks it with three elbows to the gut and then delivers a Ginger Snap that drops him to his knees. Kayla then hits the ropes and connects with the Kaytastrophe that puts him down to the canvas. She hits the ropes and just as he starts to pull himself up she drops him with a yakuza kick. Kayla hits the ropes and springsboards off the second rope delivering an asai moonsault for a cover.)

…2Kickout!
Torres: Kayla pulled a page from her sister’s playbook there, Steve.
Powers: It got her a two count but it’ll take more than that to keep him down for the count.
(Jones stands in wait as he pulls himself up and then she rushes in and drops him with a swinging neck breaker. She rushes off the ropes and delivers a neck snapper. Kayla then hops up onto the second rope and stands perched as Lasiewicz pulls himself up. He turns around into a flip over neck breaker off the second rope! She covers.)

2…Kickout!
Torres: That was a nice, high impact move from the GCW champion but it could not keep Lasiewicz down.
Powers: One thing I’m noticing is that she is starting to build up some serious momentum and that is exactly what she needs right now.
(She locks him up in a Boston Crab. The referee gets in position to ask him if he submits but he refuses. She wrenches back on it, elevating the hold much like her sister does with the Angel’s Arch but he still refuses to quit.)
Torres: Jones with an elevated Boston Crab locked in tight.
Powers: I doubt she’ll make him tap but this’ll damn sure weaken him.
(He starts to claw ever so slowly towards the ropes. Kayla is shouting at him to tap but he refuses. He nears the bottom rope and finally makes it, forcing the break.)
Torres: The EXODUS Pro Champion made it to the ropes but like you said, Steve, the damage has been done.
Powers: Now can Jones take advantage?
(Kayla stands ready as Lasiewicz starts to pull himself up. He turns around and she goes for a roundhouse kick but he ducks it, grabs her from behind, and snaps of a release German suplex, holding on and rolling through with it. He snaps off another German suplex, still keeping hold of the grip as he rolls through and snaps off a third German suplex!)
Torres: That’s three German suplexes in a row!
Powers: And he hasn’t let go!
(He rolls through and strikes a fourth German suplex. Each time she clutches the back of her neck but Andreas refuses to release his grip. He snaps off a fifth German suplex, rolling through, and striking a sixth German suplex.)
Torres: Six German suplexes in a row, Steve!
Powers: And notice how he is making sure that each one drops her right on her surgically repaired neck!
(He rolls through and strikes a seventh German suplex, followed by an eighth, a ninth, and then a tenth before finally releasing his grip. Andreas himself is so fatigued from the ten Germans in a row that he cannot cover. Kayla, for her part, is on the mat, clutching at her neck in almost what appears to be a fetal position.)
Torres: Ten German suplexes. Ten in a row all on her neck!
Powers: Andreas Lasiewicz would win it all right here if he could cover but planting her ten times in a row took a lot out of him as well.
(The referee begins his ten count.)

(Andreas pulls himself over to the ropes.)

(He pulls himself up to his feet, stopping the count. Kayla has rolled over onto her stomach and he pulls her up and hoists her up and drops her with a Japanese neck breaker. He pulls her up and goes for a power bomb but she counters with a face buster.)
Torres: My God! Where the hell did Kayla get that from?!
Powers: She pulled it out of her ass and she’ll need to do a lot more.
(Once again both competitors are down as the referee begins his count.)

(Kayla uses the ropes as Andreas forces himself up.)

(Andreas is to his knees, Kayla is nearly up.)

(Kayla is up, stopping the count. Andreas is up now as well and he turns around into a Van Daminator from Jones that drops him! Kayla heads up to the top turnbuckle and stands perched as he pulls himself up. He turns around into Kaylamity!)
Torres: Kaylamity!
Powers: She should cover…now!
(She doesn’t cover. Instead she slaps her thigh and then goes to a corner and starts stomping.)
Torres: She’s tuning up the band…
Powers: This is a mistake. She’s wasting too much time.
(Andreas slowly pulls himself up as Kayla’s stomping grows faster and faster. He turns a round into a Kaylan Wind Kick that drops him like a ton of bricks!)
Torres: SHE HIT IT!
Powers: NEW EXODUS PRO CHAMPION!
(Kayla drops to her knees, laughing in celebration. He celebration is cut short as Lasiewicz almost immediately sits right up with red eyes.)
Torres: …Holy Mother of God…
Powers: Um, Torres, I think Kayla has only one thing she can do right now.
Torres: What’s that?
Powers: Run.
(Kayla is in total shock and disbelief as he gets back up. She goes for a roundhouse kick but he ducks it and then runs off the ropes and nails a Polish Hammer. He pulls her up and then takes her down with a vicious choke slam.)
Torres: Choke slam from The Morning Star!
Powers: He is inhuman! That kick should’ve floored him!
(He locks her up in a Pentagram Choke.)
Torres: He’s going to try and choke her out!
Powers: This may be the end of it!
(The referee is in perfect position to check on Jones. She refuses to quit even as he tightens his grip on the hold.)
Torres: The blood to her head is being cut off.
Powers: She’s slipping away.
(Her hands start to go limp. The referee raises her arm once and it falls once. He raises it a second time and again it falls.)
Torres: One more time and we have a new champion.
Powers: Get ready to ring it.
(He raises the arm but this time Kayla doesn’t it fall. She tries to use what strength she has left to crawl ever so closer to the ropes. Lucky for her she isn’t that far from the bottom ropes and she reaches out with her feet and touches the bottom. Andreas doesn’t release right away though and the referee starts a count.)

(Finally he breaks the hold and starts to confront the referee.)
Torres: This isn’t smart by Lasiewicz.
Powers: May not be but he doesn’t care. He’s in Morning Star mode right now, Torres. This is pure rage.
(This gives Kayla time to recover. She uses the ropes to pull herself up. He turns around to see her on her feet. He whips her into the ropes but she rebounds and nails a Kaylan Wind Kick Version 2.0! Kayla quickly rolls to the ring apron and stands waiting as he gets back up to his feet. He turns around into a springboard and a Kaylan Wind Kick Version 3.0! Kayla covers.)

…3NOOOO! He gets a shoulder up!
Torres: Nearly a three!
Powers: Nearly a new champion…
(Kayla rolls out to the ring apron again and stands in wait. He brings himself up and she goes for a springboard shooting star cross body press but Andreas amazingly catches her in mid-air and counters into an Arn Anderson style spine buster!)
Torres: Amazing counter by the EXODUS Pro Champion!
Powers: Hellacious counter! I have NEVER seen that before in my life!
(Lasiewicz drops her with a side effect and then a Leg Hook Saito Suplex. He pulls her up and drops her with a Fisherman’s suplex that drops her on her head followed up by the Silent Symphony!)
Torres: Silent Symphony, a tribute no doubt to GCW Hall of Famer Isaac Bongartz!
Powers: And another move that dropped her straight on her head and neck!
(He pulls her up and locks her in a cobra clutch but Kayla counters with a jaw breaker. Kayla nails a roundhouse kick that staggers him but doesn’t drop him. She nails a running enziguri but he still doesn’t go down even though he is clearly wobbly. Kayla goes back out to the ring apron and then springboards back into the ring into a ddt on Lasiewicz.)
Torres: Nice series of moves by Kayla Jones.
Powers: These two have thrown everything but the kitchen sink at one another and they will not go down.
(Kayla kips up to her feet and poses to some boos from the audience. She then starts stomping her feet again.)
Torres: She’s going to go for Kaylan Wind Kick again.
Powers: I don’t think Lasiewicz can survive a second one, not after what he’s been through, but he has surprised me before.
(Lasiewicz slowly negotiates his way back to his feet as Kayla continues to tune up the band. He turns around as Kayla goes for the kick but he catches the foot!)
Torres: He caught the foot!
Powers: Uh oh…
(Kayla is in pure shock as Lasiewicz just smiles, wagging a finger at her with his free hand. He then jerks her in and drops her with an exploder suplex, dropping her on the back of her neck!)
Torres: Exploder suplex!
Powers: She landed on the back of her neck!
(He latches in the Crisis Core Crossface.)
Torres: There it is! Crisis Core Crossface!
Powers: This will wrench on her neck, the same neck he has been working over the entire match!
(Kayla shrieks in pain but refuses to quit. Lasiewicz wrenches it in even tighter. The referee is in perfect position to ask for a submission but she will not quit that easily.)
Torres: Will she tap out?
Powers: She has to tap out or her neck will be broken!
(Kayla slowly but surely tries to get to the ropes, refusing to give in so easily. She finally reaches the ropes but Lasiewicz just drags her back out to the center of the ring and reapplies the hold.)
Torres: He just reapplied the hold in the center of the ring!
Powers: He is determined to tap her out here tonight, Torres!
(The referee is in her face asking for a submission. Finally Kayla relents and taps out.)
DING! DING! DING!
Lee: Ladies and gentlemen, here is your winner and NEW GCW World Heavyweight Champion, Andreas Lasiewicz!
Torres: He did it! He came to GCW and got revenge! He got retribution! He tapped out Kayla Jones and became world champion!
Powers: You gotta give credit to Kayla, though. She fought a hell of a match and damn near had him on several occasions. Both individuals have been through a war here tonight at Resurrection.
Torres: One thing is for sure, the landscape has changed in a BIG way! Andreas Lasiewicz is our new world champion!

Lasiewicz: Finally alone…
(Kayla suddenly turns upon hearing that ever so familiar voice. The look upon her beautiful features is one of shock, with the very hint of fear. This time last year, that look would have been of happiness and adoration.)
Kayla: W-what is this? Is this what you have been planning all along? Waiting till I’m by myself so you can get a cheap shot in before our match? Is this how you work, Andreas?
Lasiewicz: Kayla… You know me much better than that.
Kayla: So what is this? Confronting me before our match. You’ve not shown up for any GCW events leading up to this match, you’ve not been seen anywhere near this company and now… Now you show up minutes before our match. What is with that?
Lasiewicz: I’ve been here the entire time, Kayla. Just because you haven’t seen me, doesn’t mean I haven’t been here.
(Andreas Lasiewicz, clad in his own crimson and gold ring attire begins to circle the younger Jones sister, making her feel incredibly uncomfortable. Over his shoulder is his newly acquired EXODUS Pro World Heavyweight title.)
Lasiewicz: You ever hear of the opportune moment, Kayla? Patience is a virtue, is it not? There have been many, many matters to attend to over the past few months. And I have been attending to them, starting with the least importance, building up from one to another. And now I come to you, the woman who left a dagger in my back.
Kayla: I did what I did for us, Andreas. I did it for our future.
Lasiewicz: Who are you trying to convince? Me, or yourself? You were the one who sided with Dan Herrera, hence getting me fired from GDW…
(Kayla looks about herself, checking to see if the cameras picked up Andreas’ revelation. She attempts to take a half step back to compose herself, but ‘The Morning Star’ is right up there in her personal space. )
Lasiewicz: Is there need for such worry? You knew that news would be spilled to the public a one time or another. Did you tell any other members of your clan that this was the case? That your name was the final signature that took me away from the federation I had selflessly defended for so many years.
Kayla: I did it for us, Andreas. I did it for the children. I know what this business has done to you; I know what it has taken out of you. I just… I just wanted you to come home, to leave this business before it took anything else away from you.
(Kayla takes a few steps towards her former lover, a small yet nervous smile spreading upon her features. Her hand, slightly shaking, strokes his handsome yet grizzled features. Lasiewicz remains steadfast, staring daggers into the woman he once shared a home with.)
Kayla: You weren’t yourself; you were becoming someone else again. You know that it’s not too late, it’s never too late. You can always come home. You can always come back to me.
(Out of nowhere, Kayla grabs Lasiewicz’s face with both hands and forces her lips to his. Andreas is completely taken off guard by this approach, yet manages to push her off of him. She seems startled, even more so when he launches a vicious slap at her, knocking her down to the tiled floor.)
Lasiewicz: Get the fuck off me, wench.
(She is holding the side of her face, a huge red handprint upon it.)
Kayla: Y-you sonovabitch!
(Kayla suddenly flies at Andreas, her right foot snapping towards him with a Kaylan Wind Kick. But she connects with nothing.)
Lasiewicz: You have to be faster than that…
(She spins around, seeing that nobody is around her. But yet she can hear his voice in the background, growing quieter as it went on until it became a whisper.)
Lasiewicz: You took away my job, my home, my family but you failed to take my career and my soul. And tonight, in return for your misdeeds… I’m taking that title you hold so dear. I will have my revenge… And there is nothing you can do about it.
(Once the voice as completely trailed off, Kayla picks herself up.)
Kayla: Wanna place your bets on that? I’ve got a surprise waiting for you.
(A strange smile spreads upon her lips, and after wiping them she turns away as the footage returns to ringside.)

A interesting, yet shocking turn of events backstage before the match, yet this wouldn’t be the last before these two faced each other later on in the night. Could this involve the ‘surprise’ that Kayla had in store? Let’s find out!

(We cut back to the office of the new head of wrestling operations Samantha Hodgson. She is at her desk when Angelica Jones comes storming into the room.)
Angel: What exactly are you planning, Samantha?
(Hodgson feigns innocence.)
Samantha: I have no idea what you mean, Angelica.
Angel: Don’t play games. I’m not in the mood.
(She approaches her desk and stares into her eyes.)
Angel: I know that look and I know what it means. You have something on your mind and you’re not telling me.
(She shrugs her shoulders.)
Samantha: Maybe I do, maybe I don’t.
Angel: Remember one thing Samantha, one important thing…Kayla is my sister, she is my family, but Andreas is the father of my child and while he may not trust me I do want to make things right between us.
Samantha: That’s so touching but…
Angel: Shut up. I’m not finished. What I’m here to tell you is that if you’ve done anything to hurt either of them, anything at all, you and I will have words. Are we clear?
Samantha: I can promise you that I have done nothing that will hurt either of them.
Angel: That’s smart of you.
(Angelica turns and walks off. We cut back to the ringside area.)

Now this part might seemed randomly placed, but this interaction was between Angelica Jones (Andreas ex wife) and Samantha Hodgson (the director of operations). The goings on backstage signified some form of change for the long awaited main event. Let’s go to that match now, the EXODUS Pro World Heavyweight Champion going one on one with GCW’s World Champion.

Powers: This one has been building for what seems like ages. The champion went ballistic when she found out Glory Braddock signed Andreas Lasiewicz to a GCW contract allowing him to compete in the Civil War Match.
Torres: By virtue of winning that match the legendary Lasiewicz earned the right to compete for the GCW World Heavyweight Championship, currently held by his ex-girlfriend Kayla Jones.
Powers: You don’t get any juicier than that.
Torres: Take it away, Lee.
(We cut to Robert E. Lee in the ring.)
Lee: Ladies and gentlemen, it is now time for the main event of the evening and it is for the GCW World Heavyweight Championship! Introducing first, the challenger, from Krakow, Poland, he is the reigning EXODUS Pro World Champion, “The Morning Star” Andreas Lasiewicz!
The lights in the arena begin to dim slightly as a faint yet beautiful piano piece begins to play out in the background. Several spotlights circle around the arena as the crowd looks around in awe. Swirling violins begin to play out a haunting rhythm as smoke emits from the entrance way. Barbarian Horns fire up along with a thunderous dub step beat and distorted guitars as the Instrumental Core Remix of Hans Zimmer’s ‘Time’ fully kicks in. A hooded silhouette appears in the thick grey smog; his head is bowed as he methodically makes his way to the ring. The shrouded figure of Andreas Lasiewicz steps out from the back, seemingly smoking a cigarette; his head lolled to one side as he surveys the crowd with a police baton resting on his shoulder. He pauses then points his baton towards the ring as he slowly paces there.
As he reaches the ring, he stops to stare out in to the crowd, he flips back his hood and lets out a short, cruel laugh as he rolls into the ring and removes his jacket. He climbs one of the turnbuckles, searching out into the crowd with a Cheshire Cat grin across his face. He hops down as he spins the baton around in his left hand for a moment before resting back against the turnbuckle, staring up into the heavens as if he is looking for answers.
Lee: And his opponent, from Boston, Massachusetts, she is the reigning and defending GCW World Heavyweight Champion, Kayla Jones!
(“Bring Me To Life” by Evanescence begins to echo throughout the arena. The crowd begins to cheer for this signals the coming of Kayla Jones. Kayla steps out onto the stage to greet her fans. Kayla continues to take in the cheering and applause as she makes her way down towards the ring. Kayla slides into the ring from underneath the bottom rope and then she hops up onto the second turnbuckle, facing the crowd, and raising both arms up high in the air. Kayla then hops down off the turnbuckle and waits for her opponent.)
Torres: This is going to be an epic blockbuster.
Powers: For once we agree.
(Both athletes are in the ring now, both in their respected corners as they stare daggers into each other. The referee checks both of them, making sure they understand the rules of this contest. The crowd is at fever pitch right now, eagerly anticipating a match up that is months in the making. The ref then takes the GCW title from Kayla, who gives it a longing kiss before she lets go of it. The ref shows it to Andreas, who nods his head, knowing what he is fighting for. The ref raises it above his head. As he hands it over to the timekeeper, he is just about to signal for the bell when…)
Samantha: Wait… wait before you ring that damn bell.
(The crowd are unsure what to think on this development, but Kayla seems to have a smile growing upon her face. Samantha Hodgson has just stepped through the curtain holding a microphone and is quickly pacing her way towards the ring.)
Samantha: Now, as you all may have noticed, the deck has been very much stacked against Miss Jones over the past few months. Glory Braddock has done everything in her power to belittle YOUR World Champion and has done everything possible to ensure she will be dethroned here tonight. I call this a grave injustice, and I also believe this match is entirely unfair.
(Samantha climbs up the ring steps and into the ring, clutching a document in her hands as Kayla politely applauds her entrance. Andreas himself looks a little confused, but remains in his corner watching on.)
Samantha: After all, not only is the man she is facing well known for being unstable, he is also a recognised World Champion in EXODUS Pro Wrestling. Now, I personally feel that it is greatly unfair that Miss Jones has to defend her title tonight, whilst Mr Lasiewicz’s is not on the line.
(She turns to Andreas, staring at the EXODUS title upon his shoulder.)
Samantha: Now, I have had a meeting with one of the premier officials of EXODUS Pro Wrestling, a man going by the name of Cleon Gray…
(Lasiewicz’s eyes roll back upon hearing that name, the name of a man who he has had one or two disagreements with over the past few weeks.)
Samantha: He has listened to a pitch I have made tonight, and he has agreed to all of my propositions. This matter was discussed at great length, and it’s outcome is as such… Kayla Jones has signed a one night contract with EXODUS Pro Wrestling to allow this stipulation to take place. As you see, it is not just the GCW World title that will be on the line tonight… Here in my hands is a signed and official document stating that Andreas Lasiewicz will be defending his EXODUS Pro World Heavyweight title for the very first time, right here, right now in a WINNER TAKES ALL MATCH!
(Lasiewicz runs right over and snatches the document from Sam’s hands as the crowd go wild. He scans over it before laughing out loud as he shakes his head. Kayla looks on as she shouts ‘Told you I had a surprise for you’. Andreas glares at her, then at his own World title. Realising he has little choice in the matter, he hands the title over to the referee. The ref shows it to Kayla, and then raises it in the air. As Samantha exits the ring, the bell is rung and the contest begins.)
Torres: My God! Samantha Hodgson just pulled off a major league coup!
Powers: This changes everything, Torres, and it may have just given Kayla Jones the edge she needed.
Torres: What do you mean by that?
Powers: I’ve fought Lassie before, I know him. He is a man who relies heavily on strategy and preparation. He had no time to prepare for this.
(Andreas goes for a lariat but Kayla ducks and then strikes with quick kicks to the tight and midsection followed up by European uppercuts that stagger her larger opponent. He shoves her off into the ropes and she rebounds with a spinning heel kick but he doesn’t go down. Kayla snaps off a standing dropkick and finally he is taken off his feet but he quickly scrambles back up. Jones is right on top of him with more martial arts kicks that stagger him back into a corner. She goes for a whip but he reverses it, sending her into the opposite corner. He rushes in and delivers a corner splash. He takes a few steps back and delivers a stinger splash as Kayla slumps down in the corner. He then hits the ropes and comes back with a running facewash to Jones.)
Torres: The GCW Champion got off to a quick start only for that offense to be halted by the EXODUS Pro Champion.
Powers: It takes a lot to put him down and keep him down. Christum Furor found out the hard way how damn hard it is to keep him down and Jones is finding out tonight.
(He pulls her to her feet and whips her into the ropes as he hits the other side, rebounds, and decapitates her with a lariat clothesline. He pulls her back up and she pokes him in the eyes. She leaps to her feet and connects with a standard enziguri kick that puts him down. He sits back up but she nails a low dropkick to the face that puts him back down again. Kayla steps out to the ring apron and waits as he pulls himself up. He gets up and turns around and she springboards back into the ring, looking for Kaylan Wind Kick Version 3.0 but he ducks out of the way. Amazingly she lands on her feet, hits the ropes, and goes for a cross body block but he catches her in mid-air and drops her with a running power slam.)
Torres: So far Kayla Jones has been unable to figure out how to stop the onslaught of Andreas Lasiewicz.
Powers: It’s a tough task to do. Few have pulled it off.
(He pulls her up to her feet and strikes her back down with an implant ddt. He follows that up with a tear drop suplex, making certain to drop her on the back of her head and neck. He slaps on a neck vice.)
Torres: It appears as if he is going to focus his attack on her neck area.
Powers: Smart strategy. Her history of neck injuries is well documented.
(Kayla slowly fights her way to her feet as Andreas switches to a side headlock. Kayla breaks it with three elbows to the gut and then delivers a Ginger Snap that drops him to his knees. Kayla then hits the ropes and connects with the Kaytastrophe that puts him down to the canvas. She hits the ropes and just as he starts to pull himself up she drops him with a yakuza kick. Kayla hits the ropes and springsboards off the second rope delivering an asai moonsault for a cover.)

Torres: Kayla pulled a page from her sister’s playbook there, Steve.
Powers: It got her a two count but it’ll take more than that to keep him down for the count.
(Jones stands in wait as he pulls himself up and then she rushes in and drops him with a swinging neck breaker. She rushes off the ropes and delivers a neck snapper. Kayla then hops up onto the second rope and stands perched as Lasiewicz pulls himself up. He turns around into a flip over neck breaker off the second rope! She covers.)

2…Kickout!
Torres: That was a nice, high impact move from the GCW champion but it could not keep Lasiewicz down.
Powers: One thing I’m noticing is that she is starting to build up some serious momentum and that is exactly what she needs right now.
(She locks him up in a Boston Crab. The referee gets in position to ask him if he submits but he refuses. She wrenches back on it, elevating the hold much like her sister does with the Angel’s Arch but he still refuses to quit.)
Torres: Jones with an elevated Boston Crab locked in tight.
Powers: I doubt she’ll make him tap but this’ll damn sure weaken him.
(He starts to claw ever so slowly towards the ropes. Kayla is shouting at him to tap but he refuses. He nears the bottom rope and finally makes it, forcing the break.)
Torres: The EXODUS Pro Champion made it to the ropes but like you said, Steve, the damage has been done.
Powers: Now can Jones take advantage?
(Kayla stands ready as Lasiewicz starts to pull himself up. He turns around and she goes for a roundhouse kick but he ducks it, grabs her from behind, and snaps of a release German suplex, holding on and rolling through with it. He snaps off another German suplex, still keeping hold of the grip as he rolls through and snaps off a third German suplex!)
Torres: That’s three German suplexes in a row!
Powers: And he hasn’t let go!
(He rolls through and strikes a fourth German suplex. Each time she clutches the back of her neck but Andreas refuses to release his grip. He snaps off a fifth German suplex, rolling through, and striking a sixth German suplex.)
Torres: Six German suplexes in a row, Steve!
Powers: And notice how he is making sure that each one drops her right on her surgically repaired neck!
(He rolls through and strikes a seventh German suplex, followed by an eighth, a ninth, and then a tenth before finally releasing his grip. Andreas himself is so fatigued from the ten Germans in a row that he cannot cover. Kayla, for her part, is on the mat, clutching at her neck in almost what appears to be a fetal position.)
Torres: Ten German suplexes. Ten in a row all on her neck!
Powers: Andreas Lasiewicz would win it all right here if he could cover but planting her ten times in a row took a lot out of him as well.
(The referee begins his ten count.)

(Andreas pulls himself over to the ropes.)

(He pulls himself up to his feet, stopping the count. Kayla has rolled over onto her stomach and he pulls her up and hoists her up and drops her with a Japanese neck breaker. He pulls her up and goes for a power bomb but she counters with a face buster.)
Torres: My God! Where the hell did Kayla get that from?!
Powers: She pulled it out of her ass and she’ll need to do a lot more.
(Once again both competitors are down as the referee begins his count.)

(Kayla uses the ropes as Andreas forces himself up.)

(Andreas is to his knees, Kayla is nearly up.)

(Kayla is up, stopping the count. Andreas is up now as well and he turns around into a Van Daminator from Jones that drops him! Kayla heads up to the top turnbuckle and stands perched as he pulls himself up. He turns around into Kaylamity!)
Torres: Kaylamity!
Powers: She should cover…now!
(She doesn’t cover. Instead she slaps her thigh and then goes to a corner and starts stomping.)
Torres: She’s tuning up the band…
Powers: This is a mistake. She’s wasting too much time.
(Andreas slowly pulls himself up as Kayla’s stomping grows faster and faster. He turns a round into a Kaylan Wind Kick that drops him like a ton of bricks!)
Torres: SHE HIT IT!
Powers: NEW EXODUS PRO CHAMPION!
(Kayla drops to her knees, laughing in celebration. He celebration is cut short as Lasiewicz almost immediately sits right up with red eyes.)
Torres: …Holy Mother of God…
Powers: Um, Torres, I think Kayla has only one thing she can do right now.
Torres: What’s that?
Powers: Run.
(Kayla is in total shock and disbelief as he gets back up. She goes for a roundhouse kick but he ducks it and then runs off the ropes and nails a Polish Hammer. He pulls her up and then takes her down with a vicious choke slam.)
Torres: Choke slam from The Morning Star!
Powers: He is inhuman! That kick should’ve floored him!
(He locks her up in a Pentagram Choke.)
Torres: He’s going to try and choke her out!
Powers: This may be the end of it!
(The referee is in perfect position to check on Jones. She refuses to quit even as he tightens his grip on the hold.)
Torres: The blood to her head is being cut off.
Powers: She’s slipping away.
(Her hands start to go limp. The referee raises her arm once and it falls once. He raises it a second time and again it falls.)
Torres: One more time and we have a new champion.
Powers: Get ready to ring it.
(He raises the arm but this time Kayla doesn’t it fall. She tries to use what strength she has left to crawl ever so closer to the ropes. Lucky for her she isn’t that far from the bottom ropes and she reaches out with her feet and touches the bottom. Andreas doesn’t release right away though and the referee starts a count.)

(Finally he breaks the hold and starts to confront the referee.)
Torres: This isn’t smart by Lasiewicz.
Powers: May not be but he doesn’t care. He’s in Morning Star mode right now, Torres. This is pure rage.
(This gives Kayla time to recover. She uses the ropes to pull herself up. He turns around to see her on her feet. He whips her into the ropes but she rebounds and nails a Kaylan Wind Kick Version 2.0! Kayla quickly rolls to the ring apron and stands waiting as he gets back up to his feet. He turns around into a springboard and a Kaylan Wind Kick Version 3.0! Kayla covers.)

…3NOOOO! He gets a shoulder up!
Torres: Nearly a three!
Powers: Nearly a new champion…
(Kayla rolls out to the ring apron again and stands in wait. He brings himself up and she goes for a springboard shooting star cross body press but Andreas amazingly catches her in mid-air and counters into an Arn Anderson style spine buster!)
Torres: Amazing counter by the EXODUS Pro Champion!
Powers: Hellacious counter! I have NEVER seen that before in my life!
(Lasiewicz drops her with a side effect and then a Leg Hook Saito Suplex. He pulls her up and drops her with a Fisherman’s suplex that drops her on her head followed up by the Silent Symphony!)
Torres: Silent Symphony, a tribute no doubt to GCW Hall of Famer Isaac Bongartz!
Powers: And another move that dropped her straight on her head and neck!
(He pulls her up and locks her in a cobra clutch but Kayla counters with a jaw breaker. Kayla nails a roundhouse kick that staggers him but doesn’t drop him. She nails a running enziguri but he still doesn’t go down even though he is clearly wobbly. Kayla goes back out to the ring apron and then springboards back into the ring into a ddt on Lasiewicz.)
Torres: Nice series of moves by Kayla Jones.
Powers: These two have thrown everything but the kitchen sink at one another and they will not go down.
(Kayla kips up to her feet and poses to some boos from the audience. She then starts stomping her feet again.)
Torres: She’s going to go for Kaylan Wind Kick again.
Powers: I don’t think Lasiewicz can survive a second one, not after what he’s been through, but he has surprised me before.
(Lasiewicz slowly negotiates his way back to his feet as Kayla continues to tune up the band. He turns around as Kayla goes for the kick but he catches the foot!)
Torres: He caught the foot!
Powers: Uh oh…
(Kayla is in pure shock as Lasiewicz just smiles, wagging a finger at her with his free hand. He then jerks her in and drops her with an exploder suplex, dropping her on the back of her neck!)
Torres: Exploder suplex!
Powers: She landed on the back of her neck!
(He latches in the Crisis Core Crossface.)
Torres: There it is! Crisis Core Crossface!
Powers: This will wrench on her neck, the same neck he has been working over the entire match!
(Kayla shrieks in pain but refuses to quit. Lasiewicz wrenches it in even tighter. The referee is in perfect position to ask for a submission but she will not quit that easily.)
Torres: Will she tap out?
Powers: She has to tap out or her neck will be broken!
(Kayla slowly but surely tries to get to the ropes, refusing to give in so easily. She finally reaches the ropes but Lasiewicz just drags her back out to the center of the ring and reapplies the hold.)
Torres: He just reapplied the hold in the center of the ring!
Powers: He is determined to tap her out here tonight, Torres!
(The referee is in her face asking for a submission. Finally Kayla relents and taps out.)
DING! DING! DING!
Lee: Ladies and gentlemen, here is your winner and NEW GCW World Heavyweight Champion, Andreas Lasiewicz!
Torres: He did it! He came to GCW and got revenge! He got retribution! He tapped out Kayla Jones and became world champion!
Powers: You gotta give credit to Kayla, though. She fought a hell of a match and damn near had him on several occasions. Both individuals have been through a war here tonight at Resurrection.
Torres: One thing is for sure, the landscape has changed in a BIG way! Andreas Lasiewicz is our new world champion!

And there we have it, a monumental matchup between two former GDW Legends. Lasiewicz’s victory didn’t come without some significance, as he is now the first man in EXODUS history to hold two recognised World titles at the very same time. But how will Cleon Gray’s surprising power plan affect things in the future, and how will Lasiewicz’s involvement in GCW affect his reign in EXODUS? Tune into ExPro next week to find out!
