Anastasia Starling/Candace Rockerfeller
The woman who idolized Savannah Taylor walked to the ring full of confidence, while it was a much more somber Songbird that came down the aisle, perhaps worried of another squishing. Candace took control of the bout from the outset, catching Starling with a pair of hair mares, following it up by bealing the Songbird across the ring by her hair. The hair-related offense had Anastasia reeling, and some in attendance fearing another squishing for the beleaguered circus performer. Starling, though, rallied, landing on her feet out of another hair beale attempt, and put on an arm drag clinic, hitting a conventional, Japanese, and tilt-a-whirl version of the move in rapid succession, sending Candace out to the floor. Her attempt at a slingshot crossbody to the floor, though, was simply walked away from Rockerfeller, and Starling splatted on the concrete. Candace quickly rolled her in for a close two count. Rockerfeller picked Anastasia up, and lifted her to the top rope, looking for what appeared to be a superplex. Starling, though, quickly pushed Rockerfeller backwards, sending her careening down to the mat. Collecting herself, she leaped in the air, turning around to face the audience, then jumped again, into her Songbird's Flight! The Phoenix Splash splattered Candace, and a three count later, not only was the Songbird not squished, but she had, in fact, done the squishing in picking up a big win to open up the R(W) contribution to the pre-show.
Anastasia Starling beat Candace Rockefeller (4:36) by pinfall with the Songbird's Flight.
Elizabeth Lannister/Damon Alexander v. Anderson Cobalt/Simon Raines
This contest was the debut of all four competitors, and all four seemed intent on making it a memorable one. Cobalt and Lannister started, fighting to more or less a standstill after Lannister dropped Anderson with a bicycle kick, and Cobalt retaliated with a belly-to-belly suplex. Both competitors tagged out to their partners, and Damon and Simon entered the ring. Raines used his kicking offense to keep Damon at a distance, but soon Damon began to time Raines' kicks, working over Simon with a series of body punches before taking Raines back to his corner and tagging in Lannister. Raines quickly caught Lannister as she came in with a double palm thrust to the stomach, then flipped head-over-heels to catch her with the koppou kick he (apparently) called the Cutoff at Khyber Pass. Rather than cover, Simon quickly dragged her away from her corner, tagging in Anderson Cobalt. Cobalt promptly double-stomped Elizabeth's stomach, covering for a two count. A cutter from Anderson got another two, and a tag back out to Raines. Simon tried to follow up, catching a desperate kick from Elizabeth, but she followed with a big enzuigiri, and crawled across the ring to tag in Damon. Alexander promptly obliterated Raines with the Golden Glove, a discus punch to the jaw that got a long two count before Simon barely got the shoulder up. Simon lunged to make a tag out, but Damon cut him off, whipping him back into the corner. Lannister was tagged back in, taking Raines down neatly, and trying to lock in a cross-armbreaker. Raines locked his hands, to try and block the move, as Cobalt ran in to make the save. Alexander, though, jumped over Elizabeth and Simon, and nailed Anderson with a huge right hook to the body, crumpling the self-proclaimed Ace of the Second Class just as Lannister used her leg to kick Simon's hands apart, completing the Red Wedding. With the hold on, Raines tapped in mere moments to give the contest to Elizabeth and Damon by submission.
Elizabeth Lannister & Damon Alexander beat Anderson Cobalt & Simon Raines (12:56) by submission when Lannister submitted Raines with the Red Wedding.
Carlton Winslow v. Venus
The entrances of both competitors were a study in contrasts, with Winslow throwing himself up against the fans and basking in their adulation, while Venus did her level best to avoid being touched and generally looked horrified at the heathens who had the audacity to boo her. Carlton was the aggressor in the early going, using his speed to keep Venus on the defensive, hitting a variety of impressive standing aerial movies. The crowd oohed and aahed as Winslow hit first a standing moonsault, then gave Venus Two 4 Flinching for a quick two count. For her part, though, Venus quickly looked to slow down the high flyer, superkicking Carlton in the knee, and focusing her assault on the right leg of the Bel Air native. The Venus Fly Trap further punished the knee, with Venus releasing the illegal submission JUST before the count of five. She draped the knee over the ropes, before dropping her full weight on it several times in succession. Carlton, though, would not say die, hobbling around the ring after Venus arrogantly went up top, taking too long before executing a pretty but missed moonsault. The Carlton Shuffle knocked her loopy, and for a moment, all was in Carlton Winslow's corner. Winslow leaped in the air, looking for the 1 Hitter Quitter, but the Queen ducked and carefully guided Carlton up and over, forcing him to hot-shot himself on the top turnbuckle. With Carlton mostly out of it, Venus had plenty of time to grapevine Winslow's legs, showing impressive strength to chickenwing both of Carlton's arms, completing the De Milo Lock! Winslow screamed due to the intense pressure on his knee, before falling quiet. The official moved in quickly, and judged Carlton unconscious and unable to continue, giving Venus the victory by submission.
Venus beat Carlton Winslow (11:07) by submission with the De Milo Lock.
Oliver Creed v. Shozo Arino
Oliver Creed seized control of the bout at the opening bell, using elbow smashes and a running elbow to put Arino down on the canvas. A quick triangle choke followed, but Shozo was quick to make it to the ropes. Arino was able to catch an attempted kick from Creed, and dragon screwed the leg. A series of elbowdrops followed before Creed was able to push Shozo off of him, trying to buy time and distance. Shozo would have none of it, though, locking both of Oliver's arms and delivering the headbutt series known as the Concussion. Creed hit the canvas, finally, and rolled to the outside to buy a bit of time before coming back in the ring and catching Arino with a spinning heel kick that took Shozo by surprise. Oliver stomped away at his downed opponent, before trying to cinch in a vertical suplex. Arino countered the suplex attempt, muscling up the bigger Creed before DROPPING him on his head with a huge brainbuster! Shozo crawled to cover, but to the surprise of the crowd, Oliver got the shoulder up at two! The kickout seemed to give the methodical Creed new life, as he fought his way back up, hitting his own brainbuster on Arino. The crowd got behind Arino even as Creed picked him up, hitting the Lucifer Effect....for a close, close two only! Still, Oliver didn't seem overly concerned.
Creed fired Arino into the ropes, trying to time a spinning backfist as Shozo came back. Shozo, though, ducked underneath and hit the far side ropes, exploding off of them with the Legacy Cementer. The huge flying knee kick caught Creed square in the face, and Shozo crawled over to get the 1, 2, 3, completing a hard-fought come from behind victory against the Machiavellian Oliver.
Shozo Arino beat Oliver Creed (14:15) by pinfall with the Legacy Cementer.
Main Event - Rush Hour v. Damage Inc
Rush Hour received a huge ovation from the crowd as they came to ringside for the main event of the FanFest, while Damage, Inc. looked considerably more focused on the task at hand, settling in their corner, ready for battle. They jumped Rush Hour before the bell, Yoshida attacking Togo, and Watanabe Jones, forcing the official to ring the bell to the boos of the crowd. Yoshida drilled Togo with a yakuza kick, following him outside to continue the punishment, as Watanabe and Jones became the legal competitors due to the lack of any other better ideas for the official. Yoshiko PLANTED Black with a huge two-handed chokeslam, and wasted no time covering, getting a solid two count. Togo managed to DDT Yoshida on the floor, then sprinted into the ring to attack Watanabe with an impressive flurry of punches and kicks. Black Jones got in on the act too, as Rush Hour whipped Watanabe into the corner, and Jones followed in with the Immortal Technique - with the addition of Togo also shoot-kicking Watanabe in the chest. Jones covered, and got a two count before the rampaging Yoshida managed to get back inside and make the save. Flinging Togo out of the ring, she promptly destroyed Jones with a vicious Uraken, then delivered Vindication, her big jumping piledriver, before returning to her corner. Watanabe crawled on top for a very narrow two count, with Jones kicking out at the last split second. Things looked bleak for Rush Hour, with Watanabe tagging in Yoshida. They set Jones up, looking for the Death From Above, but Togo sprung into the ring, nailing Watanabe with a springboard kick to the face! Jones rolled through with a sunset flip, but couldn't get Yoshida to go over. She attempted to crush Black by dropping down, but Jones managed to successfully roll away. Togo and Jones lit Yoshida up with a series of kicks, changing levels to mix her up. Finally, Shizuka toppled to the seat of her pants, and Rush Hour backed up, striking at the same time with Poetic Justice from Jones, and a modified Slide to Home from Togo, sandwiching Shizuka between the strikes. Jones made the cover, as Togo tackled Watanabe between the ropes to secure the victory as the official counted three!
Rush Hour (Duke Togo & Black Jones) beat Damage, Inc. (Shizuka Yoshida & Yoshiko Watanabe) (17:45) by pinfall when Jones pinned Yoshida after a Poetic Justice/Slide to Home combo.
