Another quality show from everyone here. I'm still picking up on threads here and there that I missed in my absence, but such is the nature of an Exodus show that it's not hard to do that at all. Great match writing from everyone. I realise that staff is under the pump (and have gone through a tough time these past few weeks?), but to put together a show that is just as good as any Exodus show is a testament to how good you all are. Thank-you for the hard work.
Just some thoughts on the segments and storylines that I thought stood out:
I'm liking 'Dark Strike'. In all the time I've been doing this with with him, I've never been more intrigued by this turn of personality. It's been such a great build as well and it just makes sense. Obviously there's been a lot of thought and work gone into this and I can't wait to see where this goes into the future. As for this show, the opening segment was a great tone-setter for the show. Exodus has its good and bad still, but it feels like its in a state of flux, much like Strike. I imagine a lot of work has gone into the planning by the staff to try and match everyone's timing and they should be credited for that. Reika and Strike are a great combo, and their back-and-forth (so to speak) is a great way to start the show.
I think I'm marking out more than most for the Strike/Kane feud. I've been a huge fan of Kane since APW days. He's continually been one of the most interesting characters in fedding. So seeing these two come together is just great and I was even more excited by the end of the opening segment. It's funny how their roles are somewhat reversed to what I had imagined when Kane and Strike came together. Like I said - marking out! With both getting wins on the show in what seemed to be big matches, the feud continues to grow evenly.
That Zach Lifer segment. I have to say, Lifer's whole career seems like one continual build - that there's something *big* going to happen. It keeps me interested in him where others might have become stale. I'm always looking forward to where the Lifer character is going next. And with Chuck Matthews and Zach Lifer hatching some plan at the ned of the show gives me the heebie jeebies. I didn't think these two would get onto the same page again, but the fact that they are suggests there's something big in the works. Maybe this is the big thing Lifer seems to be working towards?
We got to see the setting up of a new feud it seems: Justin Brooks will be defending against Savannah Taylor some time in the future. Should be a good arc given (as was said in the segment) Savannah really did do great things with the SDB Title. Savannah Taylor follows up with a win and it almost seems like an ominous sign in the arc there. Despite being the champion, I just feel that Brooks is the underdog going in. The Savannah character has all t his momentum - Gods and Monsters, and then the rehabilitation from that, plus being the renowned former champion. It will be interesting to read how both handlers play with these dynamics.
Another Collins joins Exodus on staff. Nepotism, I say!
