[SCENE: A busy Tokyo Narita airport. There is a great hustle and bustle, crowds everywhere. Announcements over the PA in many languages... Japanese, English, Chinese, French, more... In the midst of this, awaiting their already-delayed flight to Las Vegas, with stopover in Honolulu, are two Japanese men. One wears a jacket, T-Shirt, and faded jeans. The other wears a ballcap, white-and-grey tracksuit, and a goatee about his face. These men are Kohei Obata, and his legendary trainer, and even more legendary wrestler... Genji Yamato]
Obata: Senpai... I have... concerns.
Yamato: Concerns? Over what? You will be just fine in America. You will show off what you are all about, to a whole other continent.
Obata: Indeed. But that's not my worry, senpai. I'm more worried about the... treatment we shall receive. You've said so yourself - America has changed. The companies are not as willing to work with Japanese talent.
Yamato: I have seen that this is changing with EXODUS. There are so many Japanese talents within EXODUS right now. Look at Uchikawa, for example! He holds a title belt right now! Not a bad thing at all!
Obata: No, no, not at all. However... am I merely being fed to the wolves?
Yamato: It may seem that way. Chris Strike is, after all, the EXODUS World Champion. You, however, are at the begining of your career. Do not look at this, as you being expected to win. This is a test, to see how good you are NOW... and where you can improve, in future.
Obata: I am not expected to win. Therefore, should I even try to?
Yamato: What kind of question is that?
Obata: One that someone who has no aspirations would ask. Of course, I will do my best. But there is no shame in losing this, correct?
Yamato: Correct. Nor will there be, if I am fated to lose to Aries Reed.
Obata: He talks. A lot.
Yamato: Indeed, he does.
Obata: I worry, tho, you are inserting yourself into Uchikawa's war...
Yamato: It may appear that way. However, it is not so. Uchikawa can fight his own wars. I am here to wrestle in a match, for a chance at a title belt. Heh, now that I've lost my Double Titles to Fujita, it feels strange. Almost as if I need another title to assuage this feeling...
Obata: Aries Reed seems intent on not just defeating you, senpai.
Yamato: Well... I know that feeling. Indeed, it was not all that long ago that I, too, lead an army, much like Reed's REVOLUTION, looking to shake up the old orders, make people uncomfortable.. "take over," if you will. Sometimes, I wasn't even myself, you might say. So this "REVOLUTION" of Reed is truly not revolutionary in the slightest. It is as revolutionary, as the Earth revolves. It all comes around again, and again. One day, Reed will find himself on the receiving end of such a "Revolution." So let him play at being a menace, a feared monster.
Reed is good, very good. There is no doubt of that. But I have not achieved all I have by running away from challenges, either. Once *I* was considered "revolutionary." Right now is the time of Aries Reed to be in that position. Some day, soon, Obata-san, YOU will be that "revolutionary." Myself... I have no fear of Reed. He is merely the next opponent in the ring. I plan to win the Honor Cup. You should plan to beat Chris Strike. Expect that it MIGHT not happen. All you do, is get back up, and go back again. Because Reed already knows, this is NOT the end. By ANY means...
[Camera fades, as they await their turn to board, to come to EXODUS....]
