Personal Information
Name: Sam (styg-flavour)
Character Info
Real Name: Some records list him as Miguel Martínez García, but this is almost certainly not his birth name
Ring Name: El Cid
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 235lbs
Hometown: Sacramento, Coahuila
Identity Commonly Known?: No
Age: Early 30s
Years Experience: 7
Alignment: Tecnico
Entrance Music: Control Machete - "Pesada"
Entrance Description:
Physical Appearance: Broad build with a few odd scars and tattoos. Short black hair, goatee, doesn't shave his body hair. (PB: John Leguizamo)
Ring Attire: Plain black wrestling boots. Baggy shorts, usually in green, khaki or grey. White wrist tape. Sometimes a sleeveless top. On his right arm he wears a thin black bicep band with orange thorn details, in tribute to his mentor Agente Naranja.
Gimmick: Former street brawler who's cleaned up his act some.
Personality: Courageous and determined, but he hasn't entirely shaken his old rowdy ways as much as he wishes he could. He'd like to be a FIGHTING SPIRITO~! type but he has trouble focusing and struggles to take things seriously sometimes. Although he was never exactly an alcoholic, drinking got him into big trouble more than a few times in his life, and he's now teetotal.
List up to three strengths of your character:
1. Toughness. It might be easy to take him down, but it's whole lot harder to keep him down.
2. Fists of steel. A lot of plastered-over holes in walls around Agente Naranja's ranch are testament to how hard El Cid can punch.
3. Although he's far from a deathmatch wrestler, he's comfortable with brawls going to the outside. He's an expert at using ring and ringside furniture to his advantage.
List up to three weaknesses of your character:
1. He's not the most focused or attentive individual. Veterans can distract him, rile him up or trick him.
2. Once a brawler, always a brawler. He's trained in more refined techniques, but when in doubt, his instincts almost always tell him to throw a punch or slam someone into something hard.
3. When he gets lost in the moment he's not above closing a fist, pushing a five count, or taking things to the outside. He doesn't mean to employ such rudo tactics; he just can't help himself sometimes.
Athletic Background: Street fighting. But nothing professional, until he started wrestling training.
Biography: A former street brawler, nicknamed El Cid by his crew for his bravery and toughness. On an apocalyptic bender he ended up wandering across the US-Mexico border by mistake, losing his wallet, keys and passport in the process. He was found still drunk out of his head and wandering the streets of Nogales by the respected semi-retired veteran Agente Naranaja and his wife. They took him home and sobered up, and - after a few misadventures - took him in as a tenant and helped get legal citzenship in the USA. Sick of his wild and violent street fighting ways, El Cid persuaded Agente Naranja to teach him how to be a luchador. For a short time they served as a tag team in Phoenix Wrestling Enterprise, until a horse riding accident ended Agente Naranja's career. Over the last few years El Cid has honed his skills and now carries the torch as Agente Naranja's protege; after mostly plying his trade in the USA, he's decided it's time to compete in the country of his birth.
Wrestling Style: Brawler. El Cid grew up fighting, and only got trained in wrestling in his mid 20s, so the old habits still come through a lot. He does have some technical and flying moves in his arsenal, but he has a particularly roughneck way of executing them.

Entrance Music: Control Machete - "Pesada"
Entrance Description:
Control Machete's "Pesada" hits the speakers and El Cid strides onstage. He spreads his arms with a big smile on his face, then starts the walk to ringside, taking time to have fun with the fans. He slides under the ropes and runs to a corner, climbs the turnbuckles, and raises his arms. He heads to each other corner in a random order and repeats the gesture before dropping to the middle of the ring and psyching himself up for his match.
