The show begin as planned as the opening credits finish, just before Cassius Reed and Wicked J are scheduled to square off; just when the bell is about to toll and David Zinkus is about to grab the arena’s attention, “Albatross” by Corrosion of Conformity suddenly hits the P.A. system. Heads turn, and all eyes feast on the curtains that are swept away as the most infamous figure in the company’s three year history steps out onto the stage. Just after him is another familiar face, Naoki Arishima, who holds the 2015 Honor Cup Trophy in his hand.
Dick Morosi: It looks like we’re kicking things off tonight with the 2015 Honor Cup Winner, Christum Furor.
Seth Ericson: And he’s flanked by the massive, and monstrous, Noaki Arishima. Whenever these two are in a ring together nothing good ever comes of it.
The two men reach the ring and clamber through the ring cables. Christum races the back of his hand across the underside of his nasus and then strides over to the nearest corner, planting himself on the mat before resting his head and back against the turnbuckles. Arishima sits the Honor Cup Trophy in the middle of the ring, and walks over to the ropes, leaning over them to grab a microphone from the nearby stagehand. From there he hands it to the two time EXODUS World Champion.
Christum Furor: It’s all because of that.
The eloquent madman points at the Honor Cup Trophy as the camera pans over to display it from several different angles before the feed returns to the Michigander’s form.
Christum Furor: It is the bane of my existence. It is the shadow looming just behind me, shrouding every step I take, making all of my promises empty, pointing every finger at me. It is the black cloud I wear like a crown. It is a noose around my neck, suffocating me with shame, and self-loathing. It was the reason I came back to life, but now it’s the reason I’ve died again. I wear these skin and bones but they’re just a suit of which I discard when no one’s looking to become nothing. And I am nothing, for it is because of this that I have lost everything.
The madman grits his teeth as he glares at the Honor Cup trophy.
Christum Furor: And without her eyes, I am blind. I can no longer see the future. I can only see colors, and as I look through my kaleidoscope I see BLACK and RED. I see DARKNESS and I see BLOOD. I see that the Imperium chose to make an example out of me, that they targeted me at Battle Without Honor or Humanity II because of my possessions. And what I possess is this, a symbol. A symbol that is not only the cause of my AFFLICTION, but it represents their impending EXTINCTION! This is my ticket, and my opportunity to rewrite history and reshape the fabric of the world that we live in. It is because of this that I will Main Event the Autumn Effect 3, where I will become the EXODUS World Champion for an unprecedented THIRD time, and with that power I will reclaim my throne, and recreate the NEW AGE!
The leader of the now defunct and most dominate stable in EXODUS history, Gods & Monsters, grabs the two top ropes and pulls himself up. Arishima grabs the Honor Cup Trophy and brings it over to him.
Christum Furor: For her. I will make a better world, for her, and I will not make the same mistakes I made in the past, and I will show her that she was right. I am nothing but a destroyer… but it is through destruction that I create, for what these hands tear down, they build up… they form miracles… but they also commit sins. Sins that he hopes to use against me. Nicholas Gray... like the schemer that he is has come up with a solution to put me BACK into the dirt! He would stoop so low… so low as to send a man’s own son to KILL him. But unfortunately for you Gray, I do not run away from my sins… the sins of the FATHER. In fact, I wear them like burdens… I hold them like redemption… I harness them along with my vices into weapons… and it is with these weapons that I will exorcise my demons by reducing you and everything you love to DUST… to reclaim everything you’ve taken from ME!
With the Honor Cup in hand, the madman leans over the ropes, looking out toward the entryway.
Christum Furor: This is my burden… my albatross… and my honor. And I will defend this honor -
The articulate sociopath is suddenly interrupted. And the crowd, that was once so loudly booing the madman, go silent, as “Rain of Brass Petals” begins to play over the speakers. Onto the stage steps Kira T. Zeppeli, with the Mysterious Stranger following him, one of her hands in his. They stop there at the top of the stage, Kira releasing the Stranger’s hand and turning to face her. He clearly tells her to wait there, before leaning in to kiss her, the crowd just looking uncomfortable.
Seth Ericson: That is so weird.
Dick Morosi: Which part?
Seth Ericson: The part where a creepy, undead-I-think despair vampire is getting more than me.
Dick Morosi: ….
Kira walks down the ramp, keeping his eyes constantly on Furor. He reaches the end of the ramp and climbs up onto the apron, electing to actually hop over the ropes so as to not look away from Furor for a moment. He then immediately steps up to the eloquent lunatic, and holds a hand out. Furor, surprisingly, places the microphone into his former scalpel’s hand. Kira takes a few steps back before beginning to speak.
Kira T. Zeppeli: Some things never change, do they? I’ve wondered, quite a few times, how death has changed you. What subtles changes I must be missing. And I can safely say now that it hasn’t. You’re still you, Magnus. You still ramble on and on, you still blame everyone around you for things, and you’re still so delusional. The father and the son, huh?
He shakes his head.
Kira T. Zeppeli: If that helps you sleep at night, Magnus...but let’s move on to the important thing. Your grand plan, that you’re so proud of. To take that Honor Cup to the main event of Autumn Effect, and win the EXODUS World title. To reignite your New Age, right? What a terror that would be to see. The heyday of Gods & Monsters, now once again our present. But, Magnus, I’m sorry to say this...that won’t be allowed.
He smiles.
Kira T. Zeppeli: Because this is why I’m still walking these halls, Magnus. I’m quite certain of that, that if you had stayed away, my head would have already been driven into the pavement by Beowulf. He wants to so badly, and I understand that feeling. But you, Magnus, represent my chance to prove what I’ve told every one of the Imperium. That I genuinely am a changed monster. That I want to use my destructive power for the good of EXODUS. Because who better to slay you than me? That would be...eye for an eye...wouldn’t it?
The smile turns slightly strange, as Furor’s teeth clench slightly.
Kira T. Zeppeli: And I’m getting that chance so soon, Magnus. In four weeks, when Welcome Oblivion occurs. Do you know what’s happening there, Magnus? I’m sure you can guess.
He takes a step forward, getting closer to the madman.
Kira T. Zeppeli: At that pay-per-view, Magnus Gunner will meet Kira T. Zeppeli, one on one.
The crowd begins to murmur amongst themselves at this.
Kira T. Zeppeli: It took some convincing to get this match. After all, I’m not particularly trustworthy. What if this is all a ruse to remake G&M, I’ve heard. And while we both know that’s the last thing we’d ever do, it’s still hard for others to believe. So I showed how serious I was about this...and I put up the one thing that means more to me than almost anything in this world.
He takes one look back at the top of the stage, at the Stranger.
Kira T. Zeppeli: Almost. Anything.
He turns his head to look back at Furor.
Kira T. Zeppeli: I put up the reward I got for my greatest triumph. You remember it, don’t you? All of you do. When I took the Brightest Day and turned it into the Blackest Night.
The crowd starts to look confused, while Furor’s teeth clench even more.
Kira T. Zeppeli: To get this match with you, Magnus, I put up the EXODUS World title shot I received for winning the Cibernetico.
Dick Morosi: Wait what?
Seth Ericson: I don’t understand...didn’t he give that shot to Furor? That’s what led to Furor getting the title back!
Kira looks around at the confused faces in the crowd and on Dick and Seth, and he smiles. He takes another few steps forward, getting right into the face of Furor.
Kira T. Zeppeli: I wonder, Magnus...when you’ll tell the story of the last time we spoke, just the two of us, so long ago….
He grins.
Kira T. Zeppeli: Or will you not, and leave me to do all the work for you...again?
He drops the mic at this and walks backwards to the ropes, keeping an eye on Furor. He flips himself over the ropes, landing on his feet on the mats outside, and begins the walk up the ramp, still not putting his back to Furor. When he reaches the top of the stage, he offers his hand to the Stranger, who places her hand in his, and the two disappear behind the curtains, leaving Furor to himself in the ring, and the crowd confused.
Dick Morosi: I’m...not entirely certain about what we’ve just seen, everyone.
Seth Ericson: I guess they don’t like each other.
Dick Morosi: That was apparent anyways, Seth. But this was just odd. There’s something going on here that we still don’t know about. The title shot that Kira won in the Cibernetico…
Seth Ericson: Weird…
Dick Morosi: Indeed. But what we do know is this. In four weeks, Christum Furor will meet Kira T. Zeppeli in the ring at Welcome Oblivion. A G&M reunion of sorts, which promises plenty of violence.
Seth Ericson: And creepy stuff.
Dick Morosi: And that. But for now, it’s time for our first match, the proper EXODUS debut of Cassius Reed!
Seth Ericson: There’s three of them.
Dick Morosi: Curse the Gods, there are. And he’s gonna fight a Juggalo.
Seth Ericson: ...greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat….David?
REGULAR MATCH
CASSIUS REED vs. WICKED J
The sound of a man walking comes over the PA system, as the crowd draws silent. There's the sound of a demonic breathing, when suddenly the lights go out, and a voice says
"Abaddon"
A strobe light goes off at the entrance of the arena, where Wicked J stands, emotionless. As Boondox begins to sing he begins to walk at a medium pace to the ring, only illuminated by the strobe light. When he makes it to the ring the lights come up, staring daggers through the fool who faces him. Suddenly, the lights go out, and fading back up after 10 seconds, illuminating Wicked J in the centre of the ring.
The lights start to pulse around the entranceway, as You Suck by Pour Habit starts to play over the PA system.
“It’s not my fault your girlfriend likes me,
I do her hard like fucking warp speed.
Your Dad’s mad, it’s not my fucking fault,
That your Mom wants to fucking fuck me!”
I do her hard like fucking warp speed.
Your Dad’s mad, it’s not my fucking fault,
That your Mom wants to fucking fuck me!”
With the bizarre laugh that follows that line, Cassius Reed comes sprinting into the arena, pausing for only a moment at the top of the ramp as he throws a pair of one finger salutes at the crowd. He laughs, before sprinting down to the ring, sliding in under the bottom rope.
Once in the ring, Cassius rises, arms spread, revelling in the boos of the crowd, his smile wide on this face. After few moments spent arguing with someone in the crowd, he flips them off, before retreating to his corner for the match.
Dick Morosi:: It is time for our next match, the clown, Wicked J is set to take on, Cassius Reed.
Seth Ericson:: Cassius Reed has been making a name for himself since debuting in Exodus and he hasn’t even had a match yet. Despite the fact that he shares the same surname with Aries, I expect good things out of Cassius Reed.
Wicked runs at Cassius nailing him with wild punches backing him back into the corner as the bell sounds. Wicked starts kicking him with repeated kicks to his stomach. Wicked grabs him around his arm throwing him out with a hip toss. Cassius rises to his feet while Wicked runs at him for a clothesline, but Cassius ducks under it. Wicked turns, Cassius takes him over with a quick hurricanrana. Wicked rises back up but Cassius takes him back down with a leg lariat.
Dick Morosi:: Wicked J already looks to be on the ropes!
Seth Ericson:: Cassius Reed looks like someone light a fire under him.
Cassius stands over Wicked, he jumps up landing down onto him with a standing shooting star press. Quick to his feet again, Cassius kicks Wicked in his chest with a stiff kick. He pulls him up to his feet, but Wicked nails him with a hard punch which stuns Cassius. Wicked sends him into the ropes and as Wicked runs at Cassius for a shoulder block,Cassius stands his ground. Cassius looks with a large smile at Wicked nailing him with a standing sidekick. Cassius grabs him around his head lifting him up and down with a snap suplex and Cassius floats up to his feet, Wicked lay flat on his back on the mat.
Dick Morosi:: Cassius Reed back in control of this match.
Seth Ericson:: Wicked J looks to be in trouble!
Cassius goes into the corner and leaps into air for a standing moonsault, Wicked rolls out of the way, Cassius lands on his feet. Wicked runs at Cassius and he dodges out of the way. Wicked turns, Cassius grabs him sending him into the corner hard. Cassius runs in at him hitting him with a flying leg lariat.
Dick Morosi:: Cassius Reed with a big move in the corner!!
Wicked stumbles out of the corner towards the middle of the ring. Cassius bounces off the opposite ropes catching the head of Wicked J with the BLACKOUT! Cassius covers him.
ONE..
TWO..
THREE..
David Zinkus:: The winner of this match Cassius Reed!!
WINNER: Cassius Reed
Dick Morosi: Cassius Reed might have been Plan C, but he was A+ tonight against Wicked J!
Seth Ericson: I have to admit that Cassius looked impressive, but he's got a way to go before he touches his brother Aries in accomplishments.
Dick Morosi: But for now, he celebrates! We'll be back right after these words from our newest sponsor, LAZERADE!
