Abby Park vs. Michael Lynch
The opening match of Autumn Effect 3 was a high energy affair between a recent newcomer in Michael Lynch, and an EXODUS original in Abby Park. However, there wasn’t much fight from the self-styled leader of people, as Abby Park fought like she was three years younger, getting the win with the Gourd-Head superkick.
Winner: Abby Park
We’re shown footage of earlier in the day, where Jonathan Collins, flanked by security, was allowed entry into the building. Nicholas Gray was there to meet him, saying as he was part owner, he was allowed in the building, but would be under strict surveillance throughout the night to prevent his involvement.
Mistress Vivienne Robichaud vs. Mystery Ninja Opponent
Vivi was a woman possessed; she wanted a quick win here given what was up next, the Call Your Shot Gauntlet that she had already announced her entry into. But to her surprise, the Ninja that had been terrorizing her over the last few shows wouldn’t go quietly into the night! Mid-match, Vivi wrestled the mask off of her foe, revealing someone new; the wrestling savant of the announce team, Dick Morosi, identified her as Kenzie Rowe, up until now a free agent and entrant into the SSWA Young Guns Cup. Rowe went wild after that, hitting a series of high impact moves on Vivi and even throwing a spare low kick to the always-targeted groin of Simon Raines. But it was that kick which would prove to be her undoing, as Kenzie turned into Hurricane Vivienne, which got Vivi the victory!
Winner: Mistress Vivienne Robichaud
Call Your Shot
Invitational
Dick Morosi:: It is time for the Call Your Shot Battle Royal!
Seth Ericson:: For someone this could change around their whole career. Win the Call Your Shot Battle Royal and you get yourself a automatic shot at any Championship in Exodus!
Dick Morosi:: Let’s run down the rules. We will start off with two wrestlers, then every two minutes another wrestler will enter, until we have all wrestlers have entered the ring. The only way to be eliminated is by being thrown over the top rope with both free landing on the floor.
Seth Ericson:: This could get wild, this could get brutal. I don’t know about you Dick I’m ready to get this started.
Dick Morosi:: Let’s not waste another second let’s see who drew number one and two!
I'm not the one who's so far away when I feel the snake bite enter my veins
Never did I want to be here again and I don't remember why I came...
The lights in the arena dim and smoke fills the entrance as the first lines of Godsmack's "Voodoo" begin playing. A tall silhouette appears in the smoke and out steps Simon Raines with a microphone in his hand and a collar around his neck. He turns to watch as Mistress Vivi saunters down the ramp, hips swaying in time to the beat. The crowd boos them both, but Mistress Vivi keeps her eyes on her target.
Candles raise my desire why I'm so far away, no more meaning to my life, no more reason to stay...
Freezing feeling, breathe in, breathe in...
I'm coming back again...
As they reach the ring, Simon steps up to the apron and holds the ropes so that Mistress Vivi can enter the squared circle. She gives him a kiss and stands in the center of the ring, hands on her hips, surveying the crowd with a grin.
Simon Raines: Ladies and gentlemen, it is my privilege and my pleasure to introduce to you the Voodoo Queen of New Orleans, the High Priestess of Baron Samedi, the Monster of the French Quarter... my one and only... Mistress Vivi!
She hands him her top hat and riding crop and he bows his head, waiting for her blessing before exiting the ring. As he departs, she goes to her corner and waits
Dick Morosi:: Mistress Vivi is lucky number one!!
Seth Ericson:: Who’s number two?!
The lights in the arena lower as "Streaker (ft. Notrabel)" by Tobacco plays throughout the building. For a few seconds, the song just plays out before a dark figure with his head down steps out onto the top of the stage. Soon enough, Michael Lynch looks up across the arena and lowers the hood attached to his vest to reveal his signature green mask. He's greeted with a roar of boos that he doesn't acknowledge as he starts making his way down the ramp. There's no real expression to be found on Lynch's face as he climbs into the ring. Michael stops briefly in the center of the ring to take off his vest jacket and to take a look around the building. He then walks over to a corner of the ring to drape his jacket over and lean against while he waits for the match to begin.
Dick Morosi:: Its Mistress Vivi and Michael Lynch, one and two in the Call Your Shot Battle Royal!

The lights blink to darkness, a few red and white spotlights blinking against the crowd while their attention arose towards the stage. The camera focused while the rhythmic beat of "Watch Me" by Icon For Hire flared over the sound system, and once the vocals joined the faux-pop melody, the crowd erupted as a woman walked out onto the stage with an excited smile.
Kenzie Rydell gave special attention to the fans in the upper seats, pointing in that direction with a wide grin. Scurrying to her left, she said something inaudible to the fans in attendance, giving a few of them high-fives. Moving on to the right, she told them something else, high-fiving a few lucky Inferno fans who watched her quickly recoil to the center of the ramp.

The camera fades up, in a backstage corridor. It looks one way down the corridor, then up the other… settling on a familiar unusual sight: a wooden door, stood in the middle of the corridor, the legend on it’s frosted glass panel reading “Cthulhu Jones, Private Investigator”. The camera begins to approach, only for the door to suddenly burst open, the man erupting from it throwing a bundle of papers into the lens.
? ??: What?
The storm of paper dies down, revealing the sight of Cthulhu Jones. The customary dogend hangs from his lips, the fedora brim is pulled low, his collar pulled high. He looks into the camera, his unnatural yellow eyes burning into the lens.
Cthulhu Jones: It’s all there. Every bit of it. Every word, every lie, spun for Mister Gray. Yes, you heard me. Mister Gray. Tell him his check came through. You see, Mister Collins was right. There is a threat to this company, right under everyone's’ nose… You take those papers… and you make sure they get to the right people. The end is coming, and quicker than any of you think.
He moves to go back through the door, but suddenly stops, and calmly looks back to the camera.
Cthulhu Jones: Jodie… sorry. I’m sorry I’ve not been there for you. But look how you’ve grown… how you’ve blossomed… by yourself. I’ve got things to take care of, if you see me soon, something’s gone very, very wrong.
He pinches the bridge of his nose.
Cthulhu Jones: Take the files. Protect the files.
He goes to leave, and stops, abruptly. He looks to the camera once more.
Cthulhu Jones: I hear there’s work out East.
He quickly goes through the door, pulling it shut behind him. It’s only a second, though, the faint hint of soft jazz filling the air, before the camera pushes through the door… revealing only an empty corridor beyond… the faint notes of a saxophone still haunting the air as the camera fades.
Jackie Fowler vs. Prince Kamijo
This match has garnered a whole lot of interest in the wrestling world for two reasons. One: What the hell is Jackie Fowler thinking? And Two: Are we going to see a deeper penetration than what Chris Strike gave Christian Kane with a railroad spike? Anyway, the crowd are on the edge of their feet waving iPads around as they get into the mood. Jackie receives a mid-level reception as he makes his way down to the ring in a Smart FourTwo car, which looks remarkably like Darrin Stearns car because it is. Along the sides of it is spray painted ‘how do u lik me drivin, ipad fucker #suckmedick’ which kind of gives it all away as “Fuckin’ In The Bushes” blasts out from the P.A system. The Bastard of Bowland poses near a couple of stunning females holding up a sign reading ‘Pay Jackie In Handjobs’ as one of them flashes their breasts, before a member of security rushes over to give her a grope before Jackie can, much to his disappointment. He rolls into the ring, not in his usual attire but instead dressed as Che Guevara as if he is ready to start a revolution here tonight.
The next entrance receives a huge reception, as The Artist Formerly Known As Prince Kamijo makes a magnificent entrance riding out upon Former Millennium Wrestling Alliance World Heavyweight Champion CJ Osbourne as he is escorted to the ring by a bevy of #Beauuutiful women with moustaches. Upon his shoulder is the MWA World title, which now has a penis on it because why the fuck not. As Kamijo enters the ring, the crowd shower him with purple streamers as Robert Palmer’s “Addicted to Love” rings out in the background, though the lyrics have been changed to ‘Addicted to #ButtStuff’ instead. Blowjob is glaringly absent, though someone seems to be receiving one in the crowd as Jackie films it on his phone.
The pair stand across from each other in the ring and begin an intense staredown that is only broken when Kamijo actually tries to kiss Jackie, forcing him to run from the ring, shaking his head (not that one!). He re-enters and the contest begins, the crowd excited but looking upon this as a foregone conclusion due to Kamijo’s unbelievable four year winning streak. And the match begins as such, with Kamijo easily dominating proceedings with sharp martial kicks to the face that keep rocking Jackie to the mat. He seems to be realizing what he has gotten himself into, especially when Kamijo reverses his punches into a series of arm drags and finished with a Tiger Feint Crucifix Armbar, reminding the world that he is not just a comedic figure with a twitter account and a name that will probably get him sued one day. Jackie rolls out of the ring trying to regroup, deciding that he needs a bigger boat to battle this shark and looks under the ring for weaponry. What he gets instead is Blowjob charging out from under the ring riding a goat and is knocked down to the ground as the crowd laughs at his expense, which is not a good word for him seeing as he doesn’t get paid.
Fowler is obviously frustrated, and upon entering the ring once more, goes on the offensive with lefts and rights peppering the undefeated champion. This doesn’t last for long, as The Prince takes Fowler down with a Lariat followed by a Shining Wizard for a near fall. The Lad is dazed, even more so by the creamy white mist he receives to the face which draws a groan from the crowd. He follows this up with his running enziguri, the Aristocrat’s Symphony, and that’s all she wrote.
Well, till Jackie kicks out at two much to the surprise of everyone in attendance.
Kamijo himself looks extremely confused, turning to referee Katie Hanneman and arguing with her about the count. His gives Jackie a moment to roll out of the ring and attempt to recover from the onslaught. Kamijo follows the Bastard out, but is met with a swift kick in the nuts, followed by a suplex onto the bonnet of Stearns shitty little car. Fowler is fired up now, pulling up the protective padding and exposing the concrete, then after exposing his arse to the crowd, gives the Prince a DDT on the ground. Kamijo is actually looking in serious trouble now, much to the shock of those in attendance and after rolling him into the ring he gets a near fall. Fowler keeps on the offensive, both in attacks and language, with grounded MMA style fists and elbows. He switches to work on the legs with kicks, stomps and a smooth kneebar till Kamijo gets to the ropes. Fowler keeps the aggression on, taking him down with uppercuts, knocking him back with jabs and then pulling out the Glock 17 for another near fall. The crowd are actually beginning to anticipate an upset, until Kamijo locks in the Genital Claw and that idea goes out the window faster than a Blake Jones push. You may want it, but it just doesn’t happen.
Fowler is in incredible pain, but manages to slash out a leg in a low blow on Kamijo as the pair drop to their knees. This then turns into a series of sharp punches to each other’s nether regions, one after the other in turn until the pair collapse onto the mat in a heap. Hanneman just lets things go on, allowing the pair to ensure that neither of them will ever have children which sounds like the best idea for all of humanity.
The pair have extremely shaky legs as they attempt to pull each other up using the ropes. The attack switches between them, Kamijo gaining the advantage for a while with perfect dropkicks, a Tiger Suplex and a Dragon Suplex followed by a Swandive Headbutt for a near fall. Jackie turns the tables with the Middle Finger Salute, and takes control with boxing jabs, headbutts, a leg drop bulldog and even an uncharacteristic moonsault. He goes for the finish with the Lancaster Bomber, but Kamijo manages to kick out at the last possible second, much to the relief of Blowjob. Fowler goes in for the kill, but Kamijo manages to reverse it into…
We’re not quite sure, as the feed cuts out for a moment. When the feed comes back, Jackie is down and Kamijo stands there in the centre of the ring being showered with roses as the crowd cheer for what they are describing as the greatest wrestling move ever performed but nobody is quite sure what it is.
To give the fans a break, Kamijo locks in a chin lock which he keeps in place for a good ten minutes so fans can get refreshments. Fowler manages to power out, rolling out of the ring and reaching under it, popping back up wearing a Zero McHannon mask, which confuses Kamijo immensely. As he drops to his knees in worship, he doesn’t realize the fake ‘Zero’ has slid on his brass knuckles and pulls the Prince in with another Lancaster Bomber! But he only gets a two count! Fowler rips off the mask, his face in utter disbelief that his plan didn’t work, and begins to wonder if he can do this at all. He goes for a third Lancaster Bomber, but Kamijo ducks under, sprinting to the ropes with the Aristocrat’s Symphony, but Jackie slides out of the way. Yanking The Prince’s arm, he pulls him in for another Lancaster Bomber and Kamijo falls into the ropes. The Bastard then grabs his head and drops him down with the #SMD Piledriver and gets the three count.
Three count?
Really?
There is absolute silence from the crowd. The commentators are on their feet covering their mouths in shock as the two men just lay there in the ring. Jackie pulls himself up using the ropes, staring at Hanneman and shouting at her to check if it was really three. She nods her head and calls for the bell as Jackie slips down in the corner, a smile developing upon his face as he realizes he has actually beaten the undefeatable. He has his hands on his head in shock, not quite sure what to do as his music begins to play out as the fans begin to let out a roar. Jackie stands up, exhausted after his gruelling forty five minute match (because fuck you that’s why), raising his middle fingers in the air as he exits the ring, telling everyone that he ‘told them so’. He then takes a piss on Stearns wrecked car as we cut to the back.
Winner: Jackie Fowler
Backstage, Director Michelle Collins visits her brother in his secluded locker room. Jon looks displeased to see her, refusing to speak with her. She does pique his interest, however, when she tells him that they share a similar goal; Chris Strike won’t leave tonight as the EXODUS World Champion.
(r)Evolution Wrestling Heavyweight Title
Carey Caldwell © vs. Elizabeth Lannister
After the pre-show, there wasn’t much of Carey Caldwell that made it to the ring. His ribs were taped, his face swollen, and he had a definite limp. His challenger...did not care in the least. Elizabeth spent the next ten minutes grabbing each appendage of the RW Champion and wrenching them mercilessly. Caldwell put up a valiant fight, getting to the ropes and occasionally fighting his way out with some measured punches, but the beating of Issac Solo started the job that Elizabeth Lannister finished when she locked in The Iron Price, eliciting a tap out from Caldwell and relinquishing his title to his foe.
Winner (and NEW (r)Evolution Wrestling Champion): Elizabeth Lannister
Backstage, the camera catches up with Christum Furor, the Honor Cup winner and #1 Contender, who delivers a haunting soliloquy targeted at his opponent tonight, EXODUS World Champion Chris Strike.
TLC3: (r)Evolution Wrestling Tag Team Titles
KON-BAT © vs. Queensguard vs. Damage Inc.
With Obata showing up in his new, bleach-blonde look, it was clear that the new champions weren’t on the same page before the match. But quickly, all six found their grooves; Kon and Obata worked together to build a set of tables, while Sue fended off ladder attacks from Damage Inc. with chairs. Damon Alexander waited for the precise moment, then swept in with a ladder to knock down both Damage Inc members! The former champs then set the ladder up, and while Kon-Bat returned to the ring, they were in time to pull Damon and Sue down. The four restarted their title match from last week, trading blows. Yoshida and Watanabe returned to the ring, taking Sue by clotheslining him with a table that broke around his form! Yoshida threw Damon into the corner, where the two began unloading on him. Hajime Kon motioned to the ladder, and headed over to begin climbing...but Obata turned him around hit a kick to the midsection, and nailed his Stormbringer Lariat! With his now former partner laid out, Obata sneered and left the ring, leaving the other two teams! Shizuka Yoshida turned, shoving the prone body of Kon out with her boot, while Sue recovered outside the ring! He brandished a chair of his own, coming back in the ring and smashing Yoshiko Watanabe in the arm with it! She collapsed, rolling to the outside, and Yoshida charged Sue, the pair taking each other out over the top rope!
Damon Alexander looked around, seeing everyone distracted, and let loose his trademark smirk as he headed toward the ladder...only to be stopped in his tracks. Not by a person, but by the opening strains of Killswitch Engage’s “Holy Diver!” The theme may have been dated, but the people it brought out certainly weren’t; Mistress Vivi and Simon Raines were heading down the aisle to Raines’ old RW theme, and their sights were set on the man who betrayed them so long ago! With nowhere to run, Damon simply tried to climb up the ladder and at least retrieve the belts...but he was too late, and was ripped away from it by Vivi, who immediately threw a forearm into his face! Damon stumbled back, his nose broken in a second. Simon unleashed pent up rage on his former friend, sending a series of kicks up and down Alexander’s body, sending him slumping down into the corner. Vivi rammed her foot into Damon’s face a few more times, before pulling him up by his hair. Damon Alexander was probably out on his feet at this point, but held up long enough for Simon to grab Damon’s arm, then whip him out and hit him with Damon’s own Supernova Lariat! Their job done, Vivi bent down, placing a mocking blown kiss on Damon’s forehead before the pair left.
Sue rose, finding his partner laid out, but was quickly bumrushed by Damage Inc! The pair rolled in the ring, saw the downed Alexander, and climbed the ladder, taking the RW Tag Team Titles for themselves!
Winners (and NEW RW Tag Team Champions): Damage Inc.
Tom Matheny is backstage with Chuck Matthews.
Tom Matheny: "I'm here with...Chuck Matthews, apparently. Chuck, despite your absence on EXODUS television lately, you ARE still a contracted member of this roster, and...you actually requested to speak with me tonight. Why?"
Chuck brushes his hair from his face. It's grown longer since the last time we've seen him. He seems tired. Beaten down. He has dark bags under his eyes, and his face is shabbier than he'd normally allow it, indicating he hasn't shaved in a few days. Despite this, he's still smiling. A weakened smile, but one nonetheless.
Chuck Matthews: "A few months back, I was invited back to EXODUS. I was asked by Michelle Collins to return, and when I did, she offered me a very simple deal: Take care of one little problem that she had, and my slate in EXODUS would be wiped clean. I'd be free to take my leave, without fear of lawsuits or angry mobs following me for my stint the last time I was around."
Tom Matheny: "The lawsuits, of course, a result of your blatant attacking of fans, your conspiracy against several high-powered people in EXODUS, and your-"
Chuck looks at Tom, frowning.
Tom Matheny: "....well, other things that I'm sure you've made up for now."
Chuck nods slowly.
Chuck Matthews: "Tell me, Tommy boy...when was the last time anybody's seen or heard from Mr. Lifer?"
Tom opens his mouth and closes it several times, stumped for an answer.
Chuck Matthews: "So here's the thing...I came back, and I promised one thing: Zack Lifer would be gone by the time Autumn Effect 3 rolled around. Do that, and I'd be a free man. Now, I'm sure a lot of people will say I haven't actually DONE anything. Maybe they're right. Maybe I've abandoned EXODUS and let things run their course, and it's just sheer dumb luck that Zack Lifer happened to do the same thing at the same time."
Tom raises his eyebrow.
Tom Matheny: "You don't believe in luck."
Chuck smiles, that familiar glint in his eye.
Tom Matheny: "Did you have something to do with Lifer leaving EXODUS?"
Chuck Matthews: "Some riddles are better left unsolved. But the important thing is that, as I promised, Zack Lifer has not been seen nor heard from in quite some time...and as such, my end of the bargain has been fulfilled. I spoke with Miss Collins earlier today. We talked a little bit about what 'loophole' means. But she agrees...my end of the bargain was held up, and as promised, I'm pleased to announce she's gone ahead and shredded the papers against me. And with that...I'm officially leaving EXODUS."
Tom stops instantly, looking at Chuck.
Tom Matheny: "You...I'm sorry, what?"
Chuck Matthews: "I know there's been a lot of talk about what will be going on after Autumn Effect 3. Regardless of what happens, my fate is clear: I've got nothing here. EXODUS has nothing more to offer me...so I'm taking my leave."
Tom Matheny: "......what's your game this time, Matthews?"
Chuck shakes his head.
Chuck Matthews: "No game. But I've finally completed the master plan."
Tom stares at Chuck. Chuck's usual grin, always playing across his face when talking about his own genius, is strangely nowhere to be found. Instead, Chuck is solemn, looking at Tom, as though he's been reciting this in his head for a long time.
Chuck Matthews: "I want to tell you a story, Tom. See...this time last year...I had a woman in my life, pregnant with my first kid. I was about to be a dad. Take this...step in my life that I never thought I'd take. The problem was that children cost money. You know...it's funny, everybody's got this vision that I'm this super wealthy, super smooth businessman. They're half-right. Thing is, I've built my company from the ground up, and I've done it well...but I've gone near bankrupt to do it. Fact is, Matthews Enterprises was a huge investment, a continuing investment. So while I had plenty of company funds to appropriate to business endeavors...things like, for instance, funding something like G&M, sure, I was the richest man on the roster. But to raise my kid? I had spent everything I had building up my own company, and when I needed that company to come through for me and help me support my family, they were nowhere to be found. Thing is...I needed money, and I saw the potential that EXODUS had to make me that money. So I came here."
Tom doesn't interrupt. He remembers, perhaps as well as anyone else, Chuck's first child, and the events that soon followed.
Chuck Matthews: "When Blake was born...there were treatments. There were options. There were things that could have been done. And who knows? Maybe they would have worked...maybe not. But we never had the chance to try."
Chuck pauses for a moment. His smile has long faded, and he stares at his boots rather than at the camera.
Chuck Matthews: "I lost Sofia. I lost Blake. I lost...everything."
Somehow, Chuck speaks, almost monotonously, though for perhaps the first time in his EXODUS career, he seems a bit shaky in the words he speaks.
Chuck Matthews: "Suddenly it wasn't about money. It wasn't about supporting my family. It was about...revenge, maybe. About justice. It was about making sure something like this never happened again...I came to this company for money, and nothing more. So I built a grand scheme. 'Take over EXODUS.' Remember that? You were all so focused on stopping me from taking your company, never realizing that the company itself was never really the end result. I wasn't after the company. I was after the money. So one year ago, at last year's Autumn Effect, I moved some assets. I shifted some money around. I lost the match...and sure, I let you parade around, telling the world you'd stopped me. You had your moment. You had your company. And I was prepared to ride off into the sunset, the vanquished villain, because I had what I wanted. I had money. I had that thing I had come into EXODUS to get."
Tom Matheny: "...you couldn't have cared less about what network EXODUS was on. You were just after the money you couldn't just take from Matthews Enterprises."
Chuck Matthews: "You know, everybody thinks that life is a chess game for me. That everything has a place. That I'm always thinking three moves ahead. And that's true...that's something that I've proven to be very good at. But...really, truly? My game has always been three-card Monte. Always keep the cards moving, always keep their eyes on the Queen...But we all know the trick to a game of Monte, don't we?"
Tom shakes his head, chuckling to himself as Chuck's plan slowly comes to light.
Tom Matheny: "The Queen is never actually on the board."
Chuck winks knowingly. Tom pauses for a moment.
Tom Matheny: "But you came back."
Chuck shrugs.
Chuck Matthews: "Because EXODUS got greedy."
Chuck pauses, thinking of how to phrase his words.
Chuck Matthews: "I had what I came here for. I had the money. Now, suddenly, there was talk about lawsuits. About pressing charges, suing me, paying hospital bills...a whole big stack of ways to take from me those assets that I had just taken for myself."
Tom Matheny: "So you manipulated Zack Lifer."
Chuck Matthews: "I did what needed to be done."
Tom Matheny: "To protect yourself."
Chuck Matthews: "I have never been dishonest about that. But...yes. I used Zack Lifer. I whispered poison in his ear. Turned him into a villain like you'd never seen before. Because I knew Lifer. I knew how easy he was to corrupt...but more importantly than that, I knew his greatest strength. Zack Lifer is a cockroach. You just can't get rid of him. As long as he wanted to be in EXODUS, there was nothing anybody could do to keep him out."
Tom Matheny: "So they'd need to bring him back to their side."
Chuck Matthews: "And eventually they'd realize the only person able to untangle the knot in Zack Lifer's mind is the guy that twisted it up in the first place."
Tom Matheny: "Jon Collins would have never-"
Chuck Matthews: "Jon Collins left. And even if he didn't, that man bleeds EXODUS. You think he wouldn't have done the same thing as his sister? You think, if push came to shove, he wouldn't have brought me in, kept me on a short leash, ensured that I cleaned up the mess I made?"
Tom Matheny: "So Michelle offered to shred up your lawsuits....if you could take care of Zack Lifer."
Chuck Matthews: "In retrospect, she made my life infinitely easier. She flat-out offered me the very thing I came to EXODUS to retrieve. I needed those legal matters off my back, and Michelle handed them to me on a silver platter. From there? Build Lifer up, make him think I was on his side. Get his daughter back. Show him, show the world, that Chuck Matthews was capable of good things. But keep it just ambiguous enough. Keep that seed of doubt in Zack Lifer's mind. Keep him thinking that maybe I was up to something so that, eventually-"
Tom Matheny: "He'd snap."
Chuck Matthews: "And I'd be a martyr. Those people ate it up. Suddenly, Lifer is the bad guy, Chuck is the good guy. You know me. That doesn't matter to me. These are just people. Their reactions bore me. But to Lifer...this is everything. To Lifer, seeing a man as cold and disgusting as me, getting cheered by the EXODUS fans...being put on a pedestal? That would drive him up the wall."
Tom shakes his head.
Chuck Matthews: "These last few months...everything has been building to this. My fight with Zack Lifer wasn't about title opportunities. It was about tying up loose ends. EXODUS handed me a massive loose end. I couldn't leave that hanging over my head."
Tom Matheny: "You have been planning this...THIS night....for a year and a half? All of it?"
Chuck shrugs.
Chuck Matthews: "Like I said on the first day I came into EXODUS: I'm just very good at what I do."
Chuck slaps Tom on the back.
Chuck Matthews: "Take care of yourself, buddy."
Chuck heads off down the hall, out of the camera's view...and out of EXODUS.
EXODUS International Title Match
Justin Brooks © vs. Demarcus Gresham
These two went right at each other from the opening bell, trading power moves almost without breaking a sweat. It was Gresham who gained the advantage, hitting The Big Bad Brooks with the Black Diamond spinebuster! From there he tried to wear down Justin with his arsenal, but each time the newest member of the Reinado fought him off. Brooks eventually capitalized when Gresham went for The Enlightenment, countering it into a belly-to-belly suplex! Despite that Reinado alignment, the EXODUS fans rose to their feet as they cheered on Brooks through two shoulderblocks, a jumping clothesline, his trademark spear, and finally the Hook N’ Ladder to get the pin and retain his title!
Winner (and STILL EXODUS International Champion): Justin Brooks
Backstage, Betsy Granger caught up with Zero McHannon...who left her stumbling over her words like a schoolgirl. He took control of the promo and talked about his history here inside the RIMAC, and how tonight he would add to it by taking on and defeating “The Ace of EXODUS,” Fiona Riley.
Shinji Uchikawa vs. SHOZO
This match started off far more methodically than anyone in attendance expected...particularly Shinji himself. SHOZO was intense, but seemingly in control of himself, and that led to him being in control of the match early on. The pair’s strong style maneuvers bounced off of each other early on, but it was the anger behind SHOZO’s strikes that put Shinji against the ropes, allowing the (former?) Arino to whip Shinji across the ropes and hit his sitout spinebuster! That only got two, however, and when SHOZO went to argue with the ref...he stopped mid sentence. Shinji had risen to his feet and showed a little intensity of his own; a series of strikes led to him hitting the Wide Awake (rolling elbow) for two!
With both turning up the heat on each other, the match then became a question of who could raise the stakes more! Shinji went for an irish whip, but SHOZO caught him on the way back with Vanished Love for two! He looked for a brainbuster, but Shinji slipped out behind, and pushed SHOZO into the ropes, catching him on the way back with the Saint Walker Bomb for another two! Shinji stood first, standing back and measuring...before stepping up to the risen SHOZO and hitting Heaven’s Door! He covered, but SHOZO got his shoulder up just before the three! Shinji questioned the referee, then pulled his opponent up again, looking for the Statement of Intent! He nailed it, bridged perfectly...but only got two! A frustrated Shinji Uchikawa rolled to his knees, looking at the mat for a long moment as he considered his next move.
Unfortunately for him, that long moment had led to SHOZO rising to his feet, his face coated in anger as he pulled Shinji up by his hair, spun him around, and nailed Your Story Never Mattered! Shinji tried to show some fighting spirit, rising to a knee, but before he could do anything, SHOZO doubled up with the TIME HAS CHANGED kick! He covered...and STILL only got two! Shinji’s foot found the bottom rope just in the nick of time! SHOZO rose, calling for the absolute end; the most dangerous move in EXODUS, METEOR EXTINCTION! But before he could lift Shinji up, “The Sentinel” was able to break lose, take SHOZO down, and lock in the Tadaima! SHOZO struggled momentarily, but seeing no other option, finally tapped out.
Winner: Shinji Uchikawa
The camera catches up with Savannah Taylor coming out of her locker room. Tom Matheny asks where she’s heading, but Savannah brushes him off. She instead talks about how honored she is to step in the ring with an EXODUS legend like former World Champion, Heather Lasiewicz. She promises that tonight, one win is all that stands between her and immortality.
San Diego Bay Title, Funeral Procession Match
Ruby Tyler vs. Kevin Hardaway
Before the match began, it was clear that mara wouldn’t be refereeing this match...so Katie Hanneman took her place! And it was a war, right from the start; Ruby and Kevin let their emotions fly as they opened with big fists to each other’s face! The first to bleed was Hardaway, with a cut above his left eyebrow, and he seemed to revel in it; knocking Ruby down and heading outside, producing a bin full of objects! The first he produced was a basic steel chair, which he measured then cracked over Ruby’s back! Tossing it aside, he pulled out his next trick...a sack of thumbtacks! Thousands of tacks seemed to be strewn across the ring, but before he could put Ruby on them, she turned the tide by getting the chair in her hands! A jab to the gut followed by a back cracker of her own put Kevin on his knees, and she followed it up with The Boomstick face first into the tacks! The crowd went wild as Kevin Hardaway writhed on the mat, pulling the thumbtacks out of his face. Ruby called for the casket to be opened, but she was way too soon as Hardaway recovered and nailed her from behind with a running dropkick right to her back! Ruby tumbled over the casket to the outside as Hardaway went to his bin again.
As Ruby rolled back into the ring, she was met with a barbed-wire baseball bat shot to the face! A loud “OHHHHHH” emitted from the crowd as her face quickly became coated with blood, and...Kevin reached down, wiping some of it off and smearing it on his own bloody face! Kevin kicks Ruby into the open casket, but before he can close the lid she stops him and spits in his face! A crazed grin comes across Kevin’s face, and he yanks her back out by the hair, rolling Ruby back into the ring and heading back to the bin once more! This time he produces the final item in the bin...a separate stand of razor wire! Another “OHHHH” comes from the crowd as he begins wrapping it around his arm, dots and lines of blood already appearing up and down it! Keeping it away from his body, he pulls Ruby up with his free hand, assembling a sloppy, but still dangerous, Decapitation Lariat! It might’ve been an accurate name, except Ruby ducked under, turning and kicking the razor wire into “KHard”’s arm! He collapsed, letting out a howl of pain as she backed away, slumping into a corner to watch him writhe.
Though her face showed concern, Ruby quickly came to the realization she’s still in a match! While Kevin carefully (and with the help of Katie Hanneman) removes the wire from his arm, Ruby rolls out of the ring, going under the ring herself...and producing a barbed wire board! She slides it in, and Hardaway’s eyes go wide as they meet the board..then Ruby’s face! The Huntress rolls into the ring, and the two struggle; Kevin nails a punch so big it spins Ruby around, he takes a sprint to the ropes, coming back and hitting the boot to the back of her head, but before he can complete KTFO~!, she blocks his elbow! Ruby tries to hit an Olympic slam into the wire, but Kevin reverses that! He goes for a Williams Driver, but Ruby reverses once more, only to finally hit a snap powerbomb onto the barbed wire board! She heads to the corner she was slumped in moments ago, and double bounces into the Ode to Egon, smashing Kevin Hardaway between herself and the barbed wire board! But there are no pinfalls in the Funeral Procession match! Ruby lays on top of Kevin for a moment, before seemingly saying something to him. She slowly and carefully rolls him off the barbed wire, and out of the ring into the casket. The camera catches a shot of a conflicted Ruby Tyler as she slams the lid shut on a worn out Kevin Hardaway, then follows her as she rolls it back up the aisle. Just before she slides it into the hearse, the camera gets one more shot of Ruby; her blood is now mixed with tears streaming down her face as she shoves the casket into the hearse and slams the door, ending one of the most violent feuds in EXODUS history.
Winner: Ruby Tyler
The cameras cut back to the backstage area as interviewer Betsy Granger stands in front of the Autumn Effect 3 banner with her microphone in hand. The fans cheer to see the peppy young interviewer as she begins to speak.
Betsy Granger: I am here with surprise guest and competitor this evening, former EXODUS Pro World Heavyweight Champion and someone I thought I’d never get to interview, the Dropkick King himself…Mr. Adrien Cochrane!!
The cheering intensifies for the former fan favorite, who is back in his regular clothes after his surprise appearance in the Call Your Shot match earlier in the night. His trademark blonde hair is still visible below his black hat and a black checkered shirt to match. He smiles as he can hear the cheers from the backstage area.
Betsy Granger: Adrien, what exactly are you doing here? Everyone in EXODUS, fans and wrestlers alike, thought we’ve seen the last of you. What brought you here to the RIMAC after not being here for ten months?
Adrien Cochrane: Let’s just say that I was dragged here, kicking and screaming.
The former champion gives a lighthearted chuckle.
Adrien Cochrane: Seriously though, what happened was Nicholas Gray personally called me, asked for me to come down to meet with him here in San Diego, and asked me to make an appearance. At first I thought it would be something along the lines of what we’re doing right now. Just a “Hey, retired ex-champion visits!” or something along those lines. I get there and he’s got a one day contract for me to get back in the ring after being retired for ten months. The Dropkick King hadn’t done a dropkick since Februrary! I still run and am still in shape, but I’m pretty sure I looked rusty as all hell out there!
Betsy Granger: So why did you take him up on it?
Adrien Cochrane: I initially didn’t, and he understood. We’ve remained on good terms during my absence, and we still consider each other good friends. And like I said, he completely saw my point of view, and at least tried to make me understand his. He told me to hang on to that contract and think about it. Then word got around to another person who was in the ring earlier tonight, not going to say any names, and that person literally barged into my house and convinced me to go ahead and do this. It’s a one match deal if I lose, if I win, I’d have a long term decision to worry about.
Betsy Granger: So you’re not back. This is just a one time thing?
Adrien Cochrane: Yes. I’m retired. It’s probably for the best that I didn’t win. But you know what, it was great to go out there and do the thing I love one last time. Aries Reed has always had an arrow pointing up for his future and now he has this victory he can do something to get his career rolling. Even one of the girls who had a part in my elimination…what was her name Kenzie?...even she has a bright future after her big tag victory this past weekend. Now she’s got some momentum and a claim to fame that she eliminated a pretty big name from this match. They’ve got some youngsters here who are going to do some big things.
Betsy Granger: What caused your retirement in the first place?
Adrien Cochrane: There’s some parts of this I really think is best that I don’t get into. There was some backstage things that displeased me, there were some people I counted on that let me down, but it’s not about that. I wasn’t mentally at the top of my game. I was actually about as far from the top of my game that I could be. And when you think about it, I had already been to the top of the mountain. It was great, one of the best moments of my life. And not everyone gets to the top, and that’s something that I sometimes lost track of. I was a two time World Heavyweight Champion, including one here. I had a better run that I could’ve asked for, but thinking that getting to a mountain I had already been atop before was more important than my wellbeing was a mistake. That’s why I came back last time, and it was a mistake. I was miserable and I was doing more harm to myself, not physically but mentally, than I was accomplishing anything. I met some people during that comeback attempt that I do not regret meeting, including my very wonderful girlfriend. Management decided EXODUS wasn’t getting what it wanted from me, and I sure as hell wasn’t getting what I wanted from EXODUS so when given an opportunity, a higher up, who I shall keep unnamed, terminated me. And it took me a few days to realize, it was a blessing in disguise. I got to focus on bettering Adrien. I got to be a musician, a boyfriend, a brother, a son, and a lot of other parts of my life that were lacking because I was too focused on wrestling. And wrestling did a lot of good for me, but the ride was over and it was a blast, but it was time to get off the ride and focus on the next chapter of my life.
Betsy Granger: Well, it was an honor to get to interview you and be, possibly, your last wrestling interviewer for your luxurious career. Thank you very much!
Betsy gives Adrien a goodbye hug. Probably not the only one he will get before the night is over.
Adrien Cochrane: Thank you. Good luck in the future, Betsy.
Adrien smiles and walks off screen, possibly for the last time.
Dream Match 1
Savannah Taylor vs. Heather Lasiewicz
These two start with a lengthy feeling out process; having never faced each other (outside of the Triangle Trios match a few weeks back), neither is keen to make an early mistake. It’s the less experienced Taylor who does, however, as she tries too early to catch the veteran with the Desert Rose! Heather ducks and takes a backslide for two; after which, she motions to Savannah that she was “this close” to winning! A frustrated Savannah then begins taking shortcuts; pulling Mrs. Lasiewicz’s hair, using the ropes for leverage, and pulling Heather’s tights to keep her from getting the advantage back. She hooks in a half crab, and the fans begin to rally around the former EXODUS World Champion! Heather musters the strength to pull herself to the ropes, and Savannah almost gets herself disqualified before breaking the hold!
The two start turning up the heat as the twenty minute mark passes, and Heather is unable to dodge a second Desert Rose! Savannah sees an opportunity, and heads up top! She looks for the Welcome to Sin City, but when she lands on Heather’s shoulders, she’s taken down with a sitout powerbomb for two! Heather quickly drags Savannah to the middle of the ring and hooks in a sharpshooter! Savannah scrambles, and is almost on the verge of tapping out, but reaches the ropes! Heather lets go...but pulls Savannah BACK to the middle of the ring and hooks in a figure four leg-lock! This time there’s nowhere for Savannah to go! She tries to roll the hold over, but can’t! She’s about to tap out when…
...The bell rings.
Winner: N/A (Time Limit Draw)
Heather grabs a microphone as both women are slumped in opposite corners. She looks across the ring and says that a draw isn’t good enough, and Savannah knows it! Heather asks if Savannah wants five more minutes...and is met with a nod! Both women gather themselves and pull their bodies up from the mat as the bell rings, and they charge each other!
Round 2: 5 Minute Sudden Death
Savannah Taylor vs. Heather Lasiewicz
It’s like both women have caught their second, third, maybe even fourth winds as they trade forearms! Heather gains the advantage, and whips Savannah to the ropes, catching her with a back body drop! She takes off to the ropes, hitting the Cowgirl Ride! and then standing up, turning around, and hitting Everything’s Bigger for two! Heather stands up, with momentum fully on her side, and points to the sky! She heads up top, looking for the Yellow Rose!
But Savannah moves! Heather adjusts enough in mid air to land on her feet, but can’t avoid a second Desert Rose! With time ticking away, Taylor brings Heather Lasiewicz to the corner, putting her up on the turnbuckle and climbing up after her, looking for an absolute killer move, her Snake Eyes avalanche shiranui! But Heather fights out of it, and hits a magnificent superplex! With one last burst of energy, Heather rises to her feet, lets out a yell, and hooks in Southern Comfort! It looks like the end for Savannah, but she picks the ankle of Heather, tweaking it and bringing her foe down to the mat! Savannah rises to her feet, and with the announcement of one minute remaining, hooks on The Ace of Spades! With Heather’s legs and head grasped, there’s no escape, and though she fights, her hands flail...and tap out right on the backside of Savannah Taylor at 34:35!
Winner: Savannah Taylor
Just a few feet away from the entrance curtain stand Fiona and Jimmy Riley, leaning into each other, forehead to forehead. The words between them are quiet, shared only between them. Betsy Granger steps up to the pair, however.
Betsy Granger: ...Mr. Riley? Can I ask you a quick question before you head out there?
They stop speaking, and smile at each other, before Jimmy places a kiss on Fiona’s forehead and turns to Betsy.
Jimmy Riley: You got it, Ms. Granger! What’s on your mind?
She motions to what she just came upon.
Betsy Granger: Well to be honest...this! I’m no expert, but up until last weekend, this...was a business relationship! And furthermore, that was Fiona Coll-
Jimmy Riley: Exactly. Was. Listen, I know we’ve only got a minute, so I’ll give you the short story; once upon a time there was a boy named Jimmy and a girl named Fiona. They loved each other very much, but there was a...a wall between them. They both thought the wall would be there forever, and then one day, the truth came in like a hammer and broke a hole in the wall. They saw each other, and encouraged each other to work through tearing down the rest of that wall. And then, after all the work, and all the stress, and all the struggle?
He reaches out, putting his arm around Fiona and pulling her close.
Jimmy Riley: They got what they wanted. Each other. Forever. Now then, we’ve got one last item of business to handle before we hit the road, Betsy. And it’s in that ring. Thanks, Betsy.
He lets Fiona go, and she heads to the curtain. Jimmy and his former assistant share a look, and he pulls her in for a quick hug before leaving.
Dream Match 2
Fiona Riley vs. Zero McHannon
Unlike the last match, these two have faced off...though it was over two years ago. And like the earlier Shinji Uchikawa-SHOZO match, both Zero and Fiona seemed to expect more intensity out of each other. Not to say there wasn’t any intensity at all; both took the fight to each other as expected, but the breaks were clean, and there was respect between the two. Outside of the ring, Jimmy Riley stayed out of the contest, though he and Zero did share some choice words with each other early on. The fans rallied both behind the returning hero Zero, and the home-promotion favorite Fiona.
These two slowed down the pace after the last match, particularly when McHannon took control, his technical prowess coming to the forefront as he wrenched the neck of Riley with his array of holds, at one point hooking in his leg-lock full nelson! The pounding of the apron by Jimmy Riley matched with the fans who supported Fiona clapping for her as she was able to flex herself out of the full nelson and break the leg lock! Fighting back to her feet, Fiona begins her assault; she hits the Soul Caliber to stun a rising Zero, then trying to launch into…
Clear Eyes!
Full Hearts!
CAN be hit with a Codebreaker! Zero scrambles for the pin, but only gets two! And now he’s turning the heat up! He hits the Inverted STO! The Rope Elevated DDT! He calls for the finish as the crowd’s going wild! He pulls Fiona up from behind, and locks in what appears to be a picture perfect ZERO-TOLERANCE!
Except one little thing.
You know that thing...the one only Fiona Riley can do?
Yeah, she did it.
A SHINIGAMI TO ZERO MID-MOVE! He still brought Fiona down on her head, but she was able, mid-air, to swing her foot and catch Zero in the face with The Shinigami! Both collapse to the mat, the fans all rising to their feet as they’re mere inches from each other! D’Artis Johnson counts…
ONE...TWO...THREE...FOUR…
Both competitors stir slightly…
FIVE...SIX...SEVEN…
Both try to sit up…
EIGHT…
Fiona falls back to the mat!
NINE…
So does Zero!
TEN!
Winner: DRAW (Double Knock Out)
As soon as the bell rings, Jimmy scrambles into the ring, crawling over to Fiona and making sure she’s okay. After a moment, he also looks over and can audibly be heard asking if Zero is okay. Both acknowledge they’ll be fine, and use their own power to climb to their feet. A long stare is shared between the pair, before Zero offers his hand to Fiona. They shake, and even share a hug as the crowd gives the pair a standing ovation. A hesitant Zero McHannon also offers his hand to Jimmy Riley, who accepts it...though without a hug. The three leave the ring together.
The arena lights dim for the better part of two seconds as purple and white lights begin to move gradually around the arena, a white spotlight fixated near the entrance curtains before the Tron takes us backstage, showcasing the area near the catering table as a few grunts and yells are heard before we see none other than Darrin Stearns flying into the frame and crashing against the wall. As he grunts and the momentum from the impact brings him forward, another figure steps into the limelight and while the cameras can only see his back, they all do see Darrin Stearns well enough getting himself hit by a swift left hand, followed by getting powerbombed right through the catering table, a couple of the RIMAC crowd members wincing but a good chunk of them...cheering this particular action? It is rather odd, as the camera can only still see the back of the man in question, dressed in a three-piece white suit and not turning around - instead, just proceeding to walk away with the camera still focused on his back as he makes his way down the hall, catching a glimpse of brown hair neatly gelled to go along with the suit.
The cameras return to ringside at the RIMAC, as confusion turns into anticipation as an odd guitar riff is followed by an eerie tone playing on the background, the purple and white lights beginning to swirl around faster as “KILL A” by Chikayo Fukuda grows rapid in its eerie tone and beats and as it hits the 27 second mark, all of the house lights move at once to the center of the stage as a figure stands beneath the lights, the EXODUS Pro World Heavyweight championship held out in his right arm triumphantly, a sneer on his face as he lifts his face up and soaks in the odd mix of both despise and adulation from the RIMAC.
Dick Morosi: And Chris Strike has arrived at the RIMAC...after beating the living shit out of Darrin Stearns, apparently.
Seth Ericson: Well, he helped fire Lanning a few days ago after what happened at the pre-show and Strike doesn’t like him in the first place, the egomaniac. So, put two and two together. Oh well…
As the lights return to swirling around, Chris Strike’s white three piece suit is complimented by a purple and green striped shirt, a black tie with a particularly wicked design of devil skulls in each diamond it has but the wrestling boots give out the impression this one is for show as he keeps the EXODUS Pro World title raised while walking down the ramp, a smirk breaking out as “KILL A” fades from the PA system and the house lights return to multiple colors swirling around the RIMAC while a piano begins to play, drums following suit as Chris Strike stops himself halfway through walking down the ramp, locking eyes with Christum Furor as Arianne’s voice begins to sing and “Komm, Susser Tod” is now in full swing.
I know, I know I've let you down, I've been a fool to myself
I thought that I could live for no one else...
But now through all the hurt and pain, it's time for me to respect
The ones you love mean more than anything.
There is a bit of confusion among the crowd, as Chris Strike now points at Christum Furor, the two jawing back and forth as Strike finally brings his left thumb and draws it across his throat, eyes with every intention of destroying the nemesis in front of him.
So with sadness in my heart
I feel the best thing I could do...is end it all and leave forever
What's done is done, it feels so bad
What once was happy now is sad
I'll never love again, my world is ending.
I wish that I could turn back time 'cause now the guilt is all mine
Can't live without the trust from those you love.
I know...we can't forget the past, you can't forget love and pride
Because of that it's killing me inside...
The EXODUS Pro World champion quickly makes his way up the steel steps, not bothering with posing by the apron and immediately making his way across and past Christum Furor, climbing the turnbuckle as the music and lyrics begin to reach their crescendo, Strike slowly raising his title in the air with both hands and screaming at the crowd to get on their feet, regardless of how the fuck they feel about him...and the crowd at the RIMAC responds in the most surprising manner possible.
With cheering.
It all returns to nothing...it all comes...
Tumbling down, tumbling down, tumbling down!
It all returns to nothing...I just keep...
Letting me down, letting me down, letting me down,
It all returns to nothing...it all comes...
Tumbling down, tumbling down, tumbling down!
It all returns to nothing...I just keep....
Letting me down, letting me down, letting me down!!!
Chris Strike breathes in and out, letting the feeling sink in before he hops down from the turnbuckle, thrusting the EXODUS Pro World title into the referee’s hands and stepping back against the turnbuckle, not letting his eyes shy away from Christum Furor for a moment as he removes the suit jacket, tossing it aside along with undoing the sleeve buttons and rolling those up...quite ready to fight Furor while dressed for the man’s funeral rather than his own!
Dick Morosi: ...Wow. Maybe this is just one of those weird nights Seth but maybe...maybe the RIMAC just realized…
Seth Ericson: That while Chris Strike is an asshole...he’s not THE biggest asshole in this match.
Before the main event, after Strike and Furor have entered, Director of EXODUS Michelle Collins enters. She congratulates Strike on his title defense record, and Furor on his Honor Cup win...but then says she’s here to “right a wrong.” She begins to talk about someone who had their title opportunity snatched away from them during their match with Chris Strike, and says that per her decree, she’s inserting this person into the main event. So now it’s Chris Strike defending the EXODUS World Championship against Christum Furor…
...and Savannah Taylor.
EXODUS World Championship
Chris Strike © vs. Christum Furor vs. Savannah Taylor
Three wrestlers, alike in tactics, but differing in their approaches. All three have the same goal, though; leave tonight as the EXODUS World Champion. It’s Strike and Furor, however, that strike the first bargain; after all, a weakened Savannah Taylor is the only thing standing between the two of them finishing what they started last year! They attack the surprise challenger, doubling up with clotheslines and stomps...until Furor turns on the champion! He snatches Strike up and nails a German suplex, sending the Brazilian rolling to the outside, and leaving the Honor Cup winner with his former stable mate!
But Savannah Taylor refuses to go down that easily, ducking under a buzzsaw kick and hitting Furor with a roundhouse kick! She then nails a second one, before hitting an Asai moonsault to the standing challenger! Up to her feet, she sees a rising Chris Strike and nails him with a baseball slide! Taylor rises to her feet, but seeing as he’s only taken those three moves, a still fresh Christum Furor is there to meet her with a lariat that sends her up and over to the floor! Furor parades around the ring, still having a small section of the crowd, old G&M die hards, cheering for him, but mostly boos raining down. In his glory, he misses the World Champion returning to the ring!
The match everyone expected to see then gets truly underway, as the two begin trading bombs; Strike unloads with his Kesagiri Chop, dragon suplex, and Diamond Dust! Furor retaliates with a Yakuza Kick, swinging neckbreaker, and Death Valley Driver! Both rise to their feet...but Savannah Taylor has re-entered the ring! Thesz Press to Furor! Brainbuster to Strike! The Gamble to Furor! Desert Rose to Strike!
She pins Furor! Two count only!
She pins Strike! Two count only!
Savannah is starting to show some of the same frustration from her earlier match, but shakes it off! She climbs up top, looking for whoever gets up first to give them a Welcome to Sin City! It’s Christum Furor, but once again she telegraphs the move! Furor alley oops Savannah over his shoulders; she lands on her feet, but he’s already turning with the Brain Aneurysm! Savannah slumps down to the mat, and Furor begins to measure her…
Only to again be interrupted by Chris Strike! He screams, drawing Furor’s attention...right into a Shotei! He follows it up with the Aku Soku Zan! He falls on top of Christum Furor, but only gets two as Savannah breaks it up! Those two rise, and she smashes a boot into Strike’s abdomen, following it up with the Siren’s Song! A hesitation before covering makes all the difference as it’s Furor who breaks up the pinfall! He pulls Savannah up, and lifts her into position…
FOR THE HAMMER OF DAWN!
TWO-POINT-NINE AS STRIKE BREAKS IT UP! AND HE’S GOT HIS SECOND WIND! Furor’s pulled up!
NEPENTHE! Strike looks at Savannah and runs at her as she rises...NARUKAMI!
BUT FUROR IS BACK UP WITH A ROAR!
ULTIMA WEAPON!
Strike’s adrenaline drained, all three lay on the mat! But he’s the first to move...as Furor is unconscious, stone cold out. But before he can cover, Savannah is back up! They trade blows, Savannah hitting a particularly rough elbow to shove Strike in the corner! She puts him up top, looking for what failed last time…
...but doesn’t this time…
...as Savannah Taylor and Chris Strike go from the top rope to the floor with a SNAKE EYES! All three are down again, but this time two are outside the ring! One rises, beaten but not broken, and crawls in the ring...across the ring...on top of Christum Furor!
ONE!
TWO!
THREE!
Winner (and NEW EXODUS World Champion): Savannah Taylor
Furor rolls out of the ring as a disappointed Chris Strike rolls into a sitting position. Savannah is already in tears as Katie Hanneman obtains the EXODUS World Title belt...only to have it snatched away by Chris Strike! As Savannah pulls herself to her feet, the now-former Champion is there to meet her. The two share words, and Strike makes one last look down at the belt...before offering to put it on Savannah himself! A round of respectful cheers come up from the crowd, but quickly change to a mixed reaction, leaning toward boos, as Jonathan Collins has left his secured area and is on his way to the ring!
Collins climbs in, but is met face to face with Chris Strike! Strike launches into a tirade, the most important part being picked up by the camera’s microphone,
”This is her moment! You don’t get to take it from her!”
Savannah leaves the ring, title wrapped around her waist as Collins brushes past Strike, grabbing a microphone.
Jonathan Collins: No! No, this doesn’t happen! Taylor, Strike, Furor, get BACK IN THIS RI-
As Jonathan Collins speaks, his microphone suddenly cuts out. He stands there, tapping it, trying to summon it back into life… but nothing. As he turns to the ringside technicians, trying to find out what’s going on, “The War Rages On” blasts out the PA system, as Nicholas Gray walks out into the arena. Jon sighs, pinching his nose, as Nicholas quickly calls for the music to be cut, pulling his own microphone out of his pocket.
Nicholas Gray: It’s not going to work, Jon. The mic, it’s never going to come back to life. You see, we’ve spent a lot of time listening to you, and now, it’s time for you to listen to us.
Jon raises an eyebrow, as from out the back file a large portion of the serving roster and staff; Beowulf, Ruby Tyler, Justin Brooks, Mistress Vivi, Simon Raines, Heather Lasiewicz, Savannah Taylor, Elizabeth Lannister, Damon Alexander, Aries Reed, Adrien Cochrane and Chris Strike.
Nicholas Gray: Yes. I truly mean us. We’re all saying this, not just me. You see, Jon, you’re right. In a sense. My Imperium was developed, with you, to protect EXODUS from our greatest threats. And then, a few months ago, you accused me of being that threat. And that got me thinking. And you know what we’ve realised. This whole time, pretty much from inception, you’ve been the biggest threat to this company.
Jon tries to shout back, but Nick talks over him.
Nicholas Gray: No. You don’t get to talk any more. Every time this company was stable. Every time things were going great, that wasn’t good enough for you. Every single time your services were no longer needed… well you just couldn’t take that, could you. Another problem had to happen. Had to appear from somewhere, so we’d need you to fix it. So you could be needed. Wanted. Relevant.
Nicholas turns, and gestures to the assembled roster behind him.
Nicholas Gray: Look at this Jon. Friend and foe. Enemy and frenemy, all standing side by side. Against you…
He turns back to Jon in the ring.
Nicholas Gray: And so, in what will be my final act as the owner of EXODUS, and leader of this Imperium… EXODUS is done. We’re done.
Jon looks incredulous in the ring.
Nicholas Gray: Nobody wanted this to end this way. Not a single one. But the more we think about it, each of us, individually, and together, we’ve realised. It’s the only way to protect it, protect what remains of it’s legacy, you see. The fans cry out about stale booking and dwindling rosters. The staff are unhappy. And you’ve already proven you can’t be fired here. You’ll just find a way back. Make more trouble. Make yourself wanted. You’re a minority owner. You have interests.
Nick sighs a sad sigh.
Nicholas Gray: Well I have more. I can close us down, very simply. I’ve already done it, in fact, over a week ago. There will be no more EXODUS after tonight. And I still own the name. The images. The library. And it’ll all be staying with me. With us. Dead.
Nicholas turns to the crowd.
Nicholas Gray: To everyone out there… thanks. Thanks for supporting us, throughout the years. From a small company, to the company we are today. I’m… I’m sorry I couldn’t do more to save this. Save you. All of us. But thank you all, each and everyone of you. To our dedicated fan sections, B & D. To the guys who came here tonight because they fancied something different. To the old couple behind the announce desk who’ve come to every show in this building since day one. Thank you. Thank you.
Nicholas slowly closes his eyes.
Nicholas Gray: And good night.
Jonathan in the ring is in a state of disbelief, shouting to Nick, to Wulf, to anyone who’ll listen. But no-one does. Nicholas turns his back on Collins, staying stock still. Gradually, the rest of the roster turns their back on him, the ring crew, even the commentators. Section B joins in, along with some of the crowd. At the top of the ramp, Beowulf is the last man facing him, before slowly, he turns too. The fluorescent house lights kick in, as the arena lights fade, and the assembled locker room file out, as a stunned audience also starts to leave.
Leaving Jonathan Collins kneeling on the canvas, in the centre of the empty ring.
Alone.

Seth Ericson:: Who’s number two?!
Seth Ericson:: Here we go!!

With the final, lower notes of the introduction, out from the back steps Carver, cane in hand, Sarah Jennings on his arm. As the violin kicks into overdrive, the pair make their way down to the ring, Carver ignoring all around him, whilst Sarah smiles as, and seems dazzled by, the crowd. As they reach the ring, Carver escorts Sarah around it, and to his corner.
The woman's focus changed suddenly, shaking the innocent thoughts away. Determined expression crossing her face replacing the usual jovial demeanor, she stepped forward and pursed her lips.
