Prologue: Humble Beginnings.
Lemme introduce myself to the masses. They call me Steve Lenton, but for those of you who ain’t gotta clue who I am, then call me The Big L. See The Big L’s heard a lot of talk, and a lot of hype about Exodus Pro Wrestling. The Big L caught a flight all the way from D.C. to come to sunny-side up California, and he’s ready to show out. See The Big L’s been through a lot, and he’s seen a WHOLE lotta stuff before he came to wrestle. The man you see before you today, the most ENTERTAINING son of a gun in professional wrestling, use to be down in the dumps. Dreams, aspirations, inspirations, washed away *snap* just like that.
That didn’t stop your’s truly though because The Big L ain’t a quitter. When the chips were up against’em you could always bet that The Big L was gonna show up, look his shortcomings in the eye, and ask for more. So why is The Big L borin’ ya with all of this talk about himself? Because before you get to know THE ONE you have to know the man behind’em, Steve Lenton. See he did everything right in his college football days, he didn’t party, even though the ladies back then wanted the 20 inch python to coil up and strike.
Everything, he sacrificed everything to be in the right. But just like a game poker some times you ain’t dealt the right hand. Now don’t get The Big L twisted, this ain’t a sob story, I don’t need anybody feelin’ sorry for me. The Big L’s turned his failures into success by steppin’ to a wrestling ring and givin’ the people, MY PEOPLE, the most entertaining show they’ve ever seen! The Big L’s comin’ to YOU, the fans ,lettin’ you in on what made him the man you see before you.
An Adrenaline Rush...
I felt it in the crowd, a game against Florida State was a big one for us. We’d be able to make it to a bowl game with this win. I was ready, I was focused, I wanted to win this game more than anything. See The Big L was a competitive S.O.B, since he came out of the womb, The Big L was a fighter. My parents knew that so they decided to put that competitive spirit to good use. A few high school championships later, and a scholarship to V-Tech and The Big L was on the fast track to success. I remember getting the guys together for this game...it was intense, the most I had been in my two years playin’ for them.
Steve Lenton: Listen up, we got out there, and we let’em know, and we let they’re fans know that if they wanna get to the ACC Championship, they’re gonna go through US!!!! WE RIP THEIR HEADS OFF!!! Every tackle, every big play, every score needs to mean somethin’!!! We’re playin’ for keeps here fellas!!! LET’S GO!!!!
We blasted out from the back, I had my eyes locked on the maroon and gold painted around the stadium. The fans booed as our fight song played. The Big L wasn’t payin’ any attention to that. I was just gonna eat their QB alive and see what they had to say then.
Commentator #1: With this match-up against Florida State you have got to look at what they have to go up against tonight in Virginia Tech’s defense, and the anchor of that defense, the All-American Middle Linebacker #45 Stephen Lenton!
Commentator #2: Ooooh yeah, you’ve got a beast coordinating the defense on the field. He’s quick, strong, and his tackling power is amazing. He’s built like a truck and hits like one too, I pray for Florida State’s quarterback throws the ball down-field or checks it down to his running back, because if he gets caught in that pocket it’s OVER.
We went out there and we made it known we wouldn’t back down. I didn’t give their QB a break. I hit him, I drove him into the ground, and I made’em hurt. I got to’em three times, I was in another world out there let The Big L tell you that. The game was a dogfight, everyone was getting beat up, it was nothin’ but a brawl. The Big L hadn’t seen anything like it. We were tied up, 14-14 and they had the ball. We had to make a play on the ball, we had to make something happen. We could NOT go to overtime. I glared at the guys in the huddle.
Commentator #1: And it comes down to this, 30 seconds left in the game and the Seminoles are fifty-seven yards away to make a field goal. The Hokies and Seminoles have no timeouts left!
Commentator #2: All they need is a seven yard gain to put this game away...!!
Coach: We gotta make a play Steve alright?
Steve Lenton: I hear you Coach.
Coach: They’ve been running the screen all game. They expect you to blitz, I want you to drop back in coverage alright? I need you to get this one.
Steve Lenton: I got you, don’t worry.
I pat him on the back and march onto the field and into the huddle with a determined glare.
Steve Lenton: Listen up, we gotta make a play, we gotta get the ball guys! We take this game...!!
We shouted break and lined up. The crowd was boomin’, it was makin’ The Big L’s heart pound. My eyes were locked on the quarterback, don’t jump on the hard count...so discipline...I kept myself calm and composed. Once that hike came about I dropped back into coverage. I knew they wanted to throw to the sidelines, what QB wouldn’t. He looked around, I could see his eyes were frantic. The D-line was holding up, he looked at his running back. Jackpot. I bolted for the ball, my eyes locked on the play as he let the ball loose from his hands. The running back had his hands open to make the play. A few seconds and...
Commentator #1: INTERCEPTION!!!
I kept that ball tucked under my armpit and ran like dogs were chasing me. I didn’t look back, all I saw was the endzone and the fans looking on in shock. The Big L was going to seal the deal. I crossed that white line and got the touchdown. I stopped and let out a shout as the fans booed, with a few bits of Virginia Tech fans mixed in cheering. My teammates jumped on me and cheered. I smiled and ran to the sidelines holding onto the ball. I hand it to coach and pat him on the back.
Steven Lenton: How was that?
Coach: Thanks Steve...alright guys let's put it away!!
I smirked and looked on the field waiting for them to kickoff the ball. We stopped them and won, what more could I want? I helped my team win and I felt...great. We went back to the locker room to get out of our jerseys. Coach told everyone to gather around and brought me to the center of the huddle.
Coach: Alright guys, this was a big win, it was tough, but we pulled through. You showed your grit and you showed what it means to play this game. You made me proud tonight...you really did!
Everyone cheered and clapped, I joined in with a big smile.
Coach: Now, I wanna give this game ball to the young man who helped us win tonight. Steve, you did a good job tonight, excellent football out there!! Everyone give'em some love!!
The howl and cheer while I hold the ball up with a chuckle.
Team: SPEECH!!!
Steve Lenton:I just wanna say...one thing...WE KICKED SOME ASS TONIGHT AM I RIGHT?!
They let out a loud cheer as I laugh and nod lightly.
Steve Lenton: You guys fought with all your heart and I want you to know that your efforts did not go unnoticed. We showed tonight while we're ranked so high in the country and why we deserve to go to the National Championship game! We gotta keep fightin', we gotta keep clawin', and I assure you all...we will NOT fail. If you believe in me, I won't let you or the crowd down, I promise you!!
They cheered, and I felt amazing. I knew...that I would be able to make it up to them. But The Big L didn't think that everything would come crashin' down on'em...not like that.
The camera pans out slowly from a darkness unknown to whoever sees the video. The camera shows a beautiful view of San Diego, California. There was a man, a very handsome man, with brown skin and amazing arms. He was bald from the looks of things and had massive muscles showing through his sleeveless shirt. The Big L turns around and looks straight at the camera. That's right, it's The One and the Only One, The Big L!!
Steve Lenton: Ladies and gentlemen...children of all ages...lemme tell you who I am and what I'm here to do. They call me Steve Lenton, or for all my fans, The Big L, The One, The Brown Skin Assassin, MR. ENTERTAINMENT....pick one. Now The Big L, he's got a lot of business to take care of, a lot of it. The Big L y'see is a competitive BEAST. The Big L ain't one of those heart jerkin' Rocky impersonations, he ain't all for that. What he is a determined, hardworkin', ass-kickin', loud mouth son of a bitch who will do what needs to be done in a match. The Big L's gotten to this point in his career, The Big L trained, he sweat, he bled for this opportunity to work for Exodus Pro!
So what does Exodus Pro do for The Big L? They put'em in the ring, they put'em in the ring with a partner, someone who's gonna have The Big L's back in Michael Alexander. Then, on the opposite side of the ring, they got the pussy cats, the Icy Rebels. Now believe me, The Big L is a chivalrous kind of guy, pretty flowers shouldn't be stomped on. But these pussies bite like lions!! See The Big L knows your type, you're female, hear you roar, all of that femme fatal stuff. But let The Big L tell you, right here, and right now: You ain't got a big enough bite to take on Mighty Joe Young! You got the belts, you got the accolades, you got the grit. The Big L ain't gonna front you've got what it takes to win lil' mamas.
The Big L pauses for a moment and readjusts his position. I hold my hand up to the camera with my eyes unshaken.
Steve Lenton: But don't you ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, EEEEEEVER....question The Big L's heart. I don't care if it's in a Coma Pit, or in a tables match, HELL we could fight on the moon and The Big L would kick you in Uranus. It. Does. Not. Matter. You're tough...Big L can't take that from you, The Big L KNOWS...you ain't gonna back down from us because we're bigger and stronger. But lil' mamas understand this: Ain't no way in Hell I'm gonna lose this match. It's gonna be a good match, a very good match, in fact The Big L is gettin' goosebumps look--
The Big L holds his arm out for the masses to see.
Steve Lenton: I can't wait to get in that ring. So on January 27th you get to watch The Big L with his partner Michael Alexander go toe to toe with a bad ass tag team. Yo MIKE...It's Showtime!!!!
The Big L matched out of the scene with more intensity than usual. I was ready to fight, and I was ready to make Exodus Pro Wrestling my new home. The Big L has cometh!!!
