"Do you know what a Kansas City Shuffle is?" the man asked while applying a firm wristlock on the younger Daisuke Iwakuma.
"I'm not entirely sure," Iwakuma replied.
"They look left, you go right," the man said. He had practically whispered it into one ear, and as Daisuke went to elbow him to break the lock, he whiffed and hit nothing but air. Instead, there was just pain as the voice was whispered into his other ear.
"When you master the art of this, you will not only become a formidable opponent in the ring, but you will become a difficult for in the arena of the mind. Learn to master psychological advantages, and most if not all physical shortcomings will be neutralized," the man said.
"How do I do that?" Daisuke asked.
"Trust me. Follow me. I'll make you even greater than I did the last man I took under my wing," he said with a smirk.
"There was another?" Daisuke asked with wide eyes.
"There was. His name was Jonathan Collins."
It was in that moment that a chip developed on the shoulder of "The Perfect Evil" Daisuke Iwakuma.

"Tell me about your mother," he said, his head lifting up from between her thighs. "I want to know about your life before you devoted your life to the cause," he said of her. Audrey Lloris was a mystery to Daisuke, a woman that seemed to be almost a blank slate upon her arrival in the presence of young Iwakuma-san.
"I barely remember her. I choose to not think of that part of my life," she admitted. "I remember her being very religious, a Baptist or a Catholic or something."
"Religion is the opiate for the masses. Though some revere me as a god, I merely provide release. I believe in decadence. Hedonism. I believe that we're better off nuturing our urges than extinguishing them. After all, what is life but a connection of experiences?" he said.
"So well said," she said, her eyelids fluttering shut as she felt him. He made her feel alive. Even if most considered her walking dead based on her almost fanatical like devotion to Iakuma, it bothered him little.
It really didn't bother him either. Sliding up to her and kissing her deeply while their tongues intertwined. After a moment, he took a breath and looked down at her as she smiled at him with awe and infatuation.
"Tell me about you," she said.
"I was boring. I grew up between here and there, Kanna and Gouken my only true friends. I am one of the few that have seen the demon's true face, and it is a secret I have vowed to take to my grave," he said. "Other friends, like Akashi, I have acquired through my journeys. I call him my brother for a reason, as our bond is not to be trifled with."
"And your parents?" she asked.
"I had them killed," he said flatly, without emotion. Her eyes widened.
And for the first time in who knew how long, Daisuke laughed.
"I jest. My mother and father live comfortably in Kobe, they're quite happy. Through my journeys, I've made sure they never have to suffer. The two of them don't need to know how I provide for them, but it is what it is," he said.
"Why do you never see them?" she asked.
Again, he had no emotion on his face.
"They think I'm dead," he told her. Her eyes once more widened.
"This is another joke, my lord?" she asked.
"No," he said. "They really think I'm dead. If they knew what their son had become, they probably would prefer that option."

"Why do you like coming here, brother?" Norihiro Akashi asked Daisuke. The two of them looked far different than most people walking around them. There was definitely a different sort of swagger and tone in how they walked and talked. There was a slight bit of western influence in how they acted. It certainly didn't hurt the impression they gave off that they were not ones to be trifled with. Then again, with each of them having an impressive physical stature not often seen in Japan, it also added to that aura.
"I like to take a look around. I come back sometimes for the Jazz festival, you should come with me this year," he said. "Plus, I admit that when I'm here, I like to check out the Buffaloes. This is a rather diverse and cultured place, I think when I'm ready to die, I'll relocate here and die peacefully," Daisuke told the man he told people was his brother.
"You hardly seem like someone who wants to die peacefully. We have partied like warriors and fought just the same. Why seek a peaceful death?" Akashi asked him.
"Because it is only on my deathbed that I will truly understand peace, Akashi-san. You don't know peace until you have suffered. I will have suffered a great deal as I lay on my death bed, leaving that final moment of peace the most perfect moment in my life," he said with a grin.
"You know," Daisuke started. "You never asked me what my plans are for America. They include you, but I imagine you already knew that. You've read my mind so well in previous days."
"I imagine you're going to make it interesting, whatever you do. I know you've been plotting something big. Perhaps a unit?" Akashi asked.
Daisuke smirked.
"I am going to take over the world, Akashi-san. I will have them looking left while my secret weapon comes in from the right. On that day, I will have accomplished two goals. I will have destroyed the man my mentor finds my superior, and I will have made sure the world knows my name. I will be immortal, and so will you," Daisuke said.
It wasn't like the two found themselves disagreeing often, but it was clearer than ever that they both agreed on this.
It speaks volumes of what type of athlete you are if a promotion asks you back after a guest appearance. It speaks even greater volumes if you didn't win your debut match.
Needless to say, it has not been a successful couple of weeks for The Ninth Gate. We lost the EXODUS Pro Tag Team Titles to Abby Cannon & Johnny Park in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match. Six people were brought together by the common bond of defeating us. Instead of allowing fair competition, they did what they could to ensure we would not leave victorious. The problem with that is that all six of them will receive their receipt in due time. We also, as you may have noticed, not walked out of your Annual Annihilation event the THW Tag Team Champions. That trophy went to a team dubbed The Connection.
Well, I hope Joshua Curtis and his friend have invested well, as they have blocked LEGION from doing what have designs on committing. Just as EXODUS does, just as Kingdom of Japan Wrestling will soon do, just as True Honor Wrestling will soon do as well...all will fly the colors of LEGION. We will spread and infest, taking out your heroes. Pathetic worms like Jakob Alexander will be no match for what we intend.
With the small talk aside, I want to speak of my opponent this week, Keegan Ryan. Keegan seems to think he is a bigger man than he is, yet through all my digging in this company's history, I can't find a reason to believe Keegan Ryan is a threat. He is less of a threat, and less of someone I could even find myself using in LEGION.
Keegan, do you know what hell I've inflicted on the stars of EXODUS Pro? I have broken the spirit of their champion, Fiona Rourke. I have blinded their 'beast' Justin Brooks with rage. I was the man who co-conspired with Gryphon to bring about the downfall of their great leader, Jonathan Collins. I am a monster, I am inhuman.
I am the type of man who could, and would, destroy you without a second thought.
Go on, Keegan. Try to convince me. Try to persuade me you would be a worthy addition to my army, because the day is coming when I will cull THW of its dead weight as I have EXODUS. When I am king, I will pick and choose who we have use for here. Do you have anything to offer me? Can you count to three? Perhaps LEGION could use you as an official. Or maybe the great Norihiro Akashi could use you for a waterboy! Pull your weight, young man! Show me that we can make something out of you!
You've been warned, Keegan. On your Tuesday Night Evolution, you will find yourself staring down "The Perfect Evil" as your opponent. ON that night, you will find out one very important thing.
I am not a man to be trifled with. I am less of a man to be taken lightly. You will be disposed of with ease.
Because we are LEGION...and we ARE many.
